I’m your 200 subscribers congrats
Mercury lamps are not often EOL, usually high and low pressure sodium lamps and metal halide and ceramic metal halide lamps are, but especially high pressure sodium are often EOL when approaching or reaching the end of life
It needs a new bulb
It's probably the bulbs or the ballasts or the socket.
Awesome! New subscriber!
@@SamsStreetlights Thank you!
CDO, CDM and especially CPO are very rare, HPS the most common of all HIDs
You are right Definitely
Maybe this HPS is a called a TwinArc lamp , that has 2 burned out arctubes and cycling/flickering like that! 😊

Is it on its way out? Is that what will happen to the ones on my estate.?
cool
nice
I wonder if both of them still work.
Probably not, as they have been replaced. They replaced the whole pole and the fixture is now a smaller version of Philips Lumistreet. However, it is possible that they worked but that they got replaced anyway, because of the poles' condition.
@Gatlampskanalen oh okay, well with the poles condition they probably don't work but who knows. Also last night when I went out walking, down the sidewalk, the pathway light wires was cut which my guess was the light company, Before they cut the wires the other lights Not working only three that's on, I don't understand why they did that.
I love the slow start up of hps and mv
Defected drivers, but anyway, its like Cristmas lights 😁
Even know i don't like LEDs It could be defected
Hope it doesn't get replaced with a led fixture but mostly will who knows. Also there's a HPS fixture at the church around close to my house the light cycles on and off, which means tge bulb needs replacement.
Probably they will replace the lamp only, but I can't know for sure. Also, could you record and upload that?
@Gatlampskanalen yea I'll see about tonight if not then I'll do it tomorrow night, and yea might change the lamp instead of the fixture .
I'm no expert... But... When it flickers, it probably means that the Sodium lamp is nearing the end of it's service life... And since the average lifespan of a high-pressure Sodium lamp is 16.000+ hours or more it's advised to replace the lamp before it dies out... Unless the lamp fixture will be replaced with a cutting board (LED lamp fixture)...
This sign usually does not appear often on HPS lamps, they usually turn on and off after a few seconds or a few minutes and in very rare cases it does not even show a circle, once there was an HPS far from my house that was visible from 800 meters and I could see it and it was working normally and at some point the next day I did not see it turn on, probably the lamp had a bad ending or maybe the ballast or ignitor had burned out and unfortunately it was replaced in August 2023 with LED and it was beautiful with HPS it was visible from afar :( and I have seen HPS EOL that turns on after about a minute with a slight MV tint and immediately appears with a normal yellow tint and then 20 seconds before it turns off the brightness starts to decrease and after another 3-4 seconds it turns off and this phenomenon repeats itself over and over as I see it for at least 4 years doing the same thing until at some point it will burn out and not turn on at all like another HPS and It's probably a 600 or 1000W that's next to this EOL that did the same thing until recently I didn't see it turn on and now it's dead :( and unfortunately there's only one HPS left that still works and maintains the light in almost the entire area of the station, but sometimes it shows EOL symptoms but it's the only one that still works, the last one is now EOL
Pure chinese junk, one dead capacitor then the whole system goes dead
Faulty driver circuitry.

It seems to glare a little more as time pass.
Hate LEDs but something is probably wrong with it might need to be replace or it's on a setting
So you'd rather look like a zombie under a sodium discharge light, amirite?
@@zygmuntthecacaokakistocrat6589 It won't look like a zombie. And sodium lights are easier on the eyes, where LEDs are harsher.

There's a scrap yard close to my house I wonder if they have street lights anywhere I might ask some day Also I miss how the HPS and MV starts up
You should definitely ask, but be prepared that they might not want to give you them.
@Gatlampskanalen yep definitely gotta be prepared for that also I wish they restored them and put them online to sell to people who wants to buy them but idk if they would do that hate that they are being scrap they are useful if they get restored and repaired.
They still do have HPS and MV bulbs in some places. If you go to JCPenny in San Diego you will see those MV lamps they thankfully are still here.
@Trafficlightsiosandmore same here in kc in the sun fresh mall down the street in the Parking lot there's MV lights hopefully they don't change them to LEDs
@@DiegoGene-fh3zp they haven’t actually changed it to LEDs in a while and there are still a lot of them in your area. We don’t have them anymore in the bay area because they used to be there in the 1990s and it’s very rare and other places where you won’t still see it.

i actually have one of those they are actually plastic and most of them are 70W
@alfonsgamingtornadosirenfan Cool, will you make a video about it?
Looks very much like the Siemens Grober Klassiker and love the humming of the ballast at the beginning! ❤
Love it!

The run up was way too fast, which indicates low quality European made mercury lamp with microscopic electrodes, which won’t last very long in service. Our lamps will take at least twice as long to warm up due to large electrodes meant to last a very long time. I have a few European mercury lamps in my collection and they are something different, of course, but are junk in our opinion. These won’t even make it to 2-3 years. Ours can do minimum 15 years and many are still relatively bright after as many as 50-65 years of dusk to dawn service! Also, the internal construction of the Euro mercury lamps is poor-no support hanger straps for the arc tube, just hanging on the lead-in wires of the arc tube, spot welded to a minimal at best, flimsy frame. Philips bought out Westinghouse who made some of the best mercury lamps in history then Philips took over and they were made flimsy as mentioned above and the spot welds often broke in the box before installation and the few that stayed intact would blacken the arc tube early and then go out altogether in often less than a year! European trash needs to stay in Europe! Philips and keep their low quality trash there. They also killed Westinghouse and that still ticks me off to no end! Nice fixture, but CRAP lamp, the fast warm up told that tale! Cheers! 😋
You should create videos showcasing the startup process of the lamps in your collection.

Nice. Inte så ofta man ser kvicksilverlampor nu för tiden.
Kungälvs kommun bytte ut de flesta kvicksilverlampor 2009. Men det finns fortfarande på vissa ställen, oftast styrs det då inte av kommunen.
not alot of sodium left in that poor thing
This light fixture looks like a bell
