23-10 It is astonishing that there was a time when there was such a difference. Rafa's perfection is astonishing, as he has been winning since he was a teenager against Roger at his peak. It is also important to note Roger's technique, which has greatly improved h2h from that point. The h2h since 2015 includes Roger's growth as well as Rafa's decline as reasons, but still this growth play is probably rare in history.

What a lot of Federer fanboys fail to understand is that Nadal beat Fed on his best surface more than once. He won on grass and hard courts something that Federer almost never did(except for Hamburg that was at the time consider almost hard court). For the ones saying "if there was more grass bla bla bla, is good only on clay bal bla bla" ,this guys won wimbledon twice!! You don't win 2 wimbledon with Federer around if you are not a great player. He won a total of 4 titles on grass, and 4 US Open! Even if we only give him only 1 RG(instead of 14), Nadal has still more slams than Agassi! Federer never won against Nadal at RG. Also Djokovic manage to win 5 Roma and 2 Monte Carlo beating Nadal in the final. How come Federer didn't? As simple as it is, Nadal is a stronger player than Federer...and I am not a Nadal fan. Nadal was the most incredible player since young age that tennis ever saw...until a certain Nole came around.

Most important thing about Sampras was that he won most of their GS finals and ATP finals despite being un underdog sometimes (coming back from injury or not playing well). Once in the final, he was a different player. Thats what set him apart.

Clay decides it all. On other surfaces, Roger is better. Not a lot of matches played on grass and a lot of matches played on clay. If it was even, Roger would lead.

Djokovic vs. Nadal had the most brutal rallies and matches, but imo Federer vs. Nadal was the most beautiful. The two had such contrasting styles of play. Will never see such a rivalry again.

I would definitely consider prime. Roger Federer as the goat than a prime Novak Djokovic

Now that I come to think of it, this is kind of an equivalent of the Djokovic-Wawrinka rivalry, whereas Stan trailed overall but leveled with Novak in GS matches. Is similar here, Federer is dominant but usually had problems with Delpo in GS matches. Interesting.

I remember that Aus 2009 QF, roger served delpo two bagels to close the match out in straight sets. Delpo was asked "what happened?" later in the press conf and he said "Ask Roger what happened"

Its so noticeble now how both Nadal and Djockvic were able to compete on the hard courts and grass. By 2008 Wimbledon was playing like clay ffs,, the Australian was slowed massively and the US despite being sped up the past 3 years was also slowed enough to allow Nadal to win there it was ridiculous. The game became brute strength on the pros which is easy to see now eso after the Sampras era. If those courts were like the 90s and early 00s neither of those three would have got anywhere near 14 never mind all having 20+. Eso Nadal and Djockvic.

I can´t even imagine his face watching the draw in every tournament hahaha (Almost 20 years sharing circuit and they not even played in GS)
