    Can i do this when the child is sleeping? And how many times in a day? Please reply 🙏

    • @MindFullMoves
      @MindFullMoves หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! You can do it when your child is sleeping. Often it works very well, while they are sleeping, as they don't have their habitual movement pattern and it's easier to try new variations. How often/how many times per day is harder to answer, as it depends on each child. The idea is to give their brain QUALITY information. It's not about quantity at all. So how much information can their brain take in, before becoming overwhelmed? You never want to get to the overwhelmed stage, stop way before. Some kids can do 1 min, some kids 5 min, some 15 min. I wouldn't go over 15 min, 2-3 times per day. ONLY if you can see that the child is LEARNING. If they are cranky, tired, hungry, bored, then stop and try again later, or the next day. Again, it's about the QUALITY of information. So go slow, gentle and make sure to add in variation. Don't do the same movement over and over again for 15 min. Keep it slow, short, and interesting for the brain. Hopefully that makes sense!

    We recently started MNRI and rhythmic movement. Would ABM be beneficial to add on or are the therapies very similar?

    • @MindFullMoves
      @MindFullMoves หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wonderful! MNRI and Rhythmic Movement are very compatible with ABM! MNRI is quite different than ABM, working with the reflexes to integrate. ABM is more Learning based... helping the brain organize movement. Both work beautifully together. I've always wanted to take a MNRI training, as I know MANY families that love it. It is a bit more "structured" in terms of repetitions and amount they recommend you do. I tried Rhythmic Movement for my daughter and it was lovely! My daughter really enjoyed it. I found it to touch on the basic movements of ABM, but not as 'in depth'. Sort of like if RM was like learning multiplication and ABM was like learning calculus. Both are wonderful, but I found ABM to be way more in depth and comprehensive. When people ask for other therapies compatible with ABM, those 2 are definitely on the top of the list, along with Craniosacral, chiro, hippotherapy, watsu. Basically look for therapies that honor the child's internal experience and self motivation. ❤️ Avoid therapies that override their nervous systems, they don't like (their bodies know!) and trust your parent instincts.

      It's unique for each child, and reaching is a complex movement that usually can be helped by connecting the shoulder blades, ribs, spine and pelvis. So, I don't have a specific mini course on "reaching", but I do have MANY videos for the hands, arms, shoulders, ribs, spine and pelvis inside the MindfullMovement Program. Thanks alot How many times in a day? For a child

    • @MindFullMoves
      @MindFullMoves หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're welcome! It really depends on the child on how often and how long. Think of these exercises, not as something to accomplish, but to help your child's brain explore a NEW option to their habitual movement patterns. So how often, depends on how engaged and interested the child is, that's when brains take in the most information. If they are bored, tired, cranky, their brain will be focused on that, not the new experience. Some kids can go 30sec, some 5 min, some 15 min, so watch for signs from your child. Usually shorter explorations, a few times a day is better than one long session.

    What changes have you seen in autistic children?

    • @MindFullMoves
      @MindFullMoves 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So many changes! Of course, it depends on the child, but the more general changes I've seen are: better coordination, balance, better sleep, longer periods of engagement, eye contact, more awareness of what's going on around them (and interest in what's going on around them), better self regulation, more speech, less toe walking. Basically, these slow, gentle movements gives the brain the chance to make sense out of the incoming sensory information. When the brain can better organize incoming information, anything is possible!

      Hi! it's hard to tell from the info if the delays are only due to hearing loss. That may be a part of it, but also might be one piece to a more complex puzzle. No matter the reason, the best way to support a child with developmental delays is with slow, gentle movements that support their nervous system, so it has a chance to learn!
