There is no direct solution for modeling pedestal in Cype 3D, but if you are looking for that you can use CypeCad. Only line element. SAP2000 assigns a default section to lines, but you need to assign your desired section. Its bcoz we dont have section properties in AutoCad for the lines.

In cypecad there is no solid element. It supports shell element.

@@PASOFAL so how can one specify that that particular slab is of the type solid slab just like one can specify that it is a flat slab or waffle, etcetera.

@@manwan9687 I believe we have soem misunderstanding here. Once you talked about solid slab, I thought you were talking about solid elements. That's why I told that in cypecad there is no solid element. Now I believe you are talking about slab type which can be a slab-beam system or waffle slab as you said. So, the answer is that, in cypecad under ""PANEL" option in the main menu bar you can find different types of solid slab including waffle slab, joist floor slab, hollow core slab, etc. I hope I could address your concern.

@@PASOFAL when placing the solid slabs, in cype we select the flat slab option yet a flat slab system is one without drop beams, so how exactly can proper solid slabs be modeled? The normal kind of solid slabs found in many buildings.

Most welcome Irfan The support condition for secondary beams are fixed-fixed at both end. Usually, for concrete structures we do not release the connections due to nature of concrete joints. But, if you have the steel secondary beams, we usually release them to act as a shear connection. Hope it addressed your question.
