    Thank you for this, I never knew a lot of this, and it explains I think why I don't ever see a lot of amber, or rely on that for harvest time. The biggest lessons I've learned are 1: if you don't have enough light, everything else is gonna be a guessing game, you'll never get a fully ripe plant so start with environment, light, temp, humidity and get that as close as you can first before you start looking at trichomes. 2: once that's correct, you'll know when your flowers have stopped growing because you can just see it. Everything changes, the stigmas are 90% orange or gone/swollen into the calyx, the buds take on a "sheen", you can just learn to see what this looks like. Also once the swelling is 95% stopped then you're in the ripe zone. 3: use high quality nutes that don't get a salt build up, and don't stop feeding them until you're to the point where you'd harvest. Then give it another week or at least 3-4 days where you flush. That's it.

    2.5 pH = Vinegar They vary, but that's about the average. RWV is the highest 2.92 pH Finding out how much to use is a guessing game, so error on the less side.

    Although chlorinated, our municipal water has a good amount of calcium and magnesium, so that’s nice. When I repipe my house I’ll be adding a chlorine filter to help out and maybe an RO with alkalyzer. That’s gonna be a fun change.

    I'm a SoilFoodWeb grad as well as Matt Powers Regenerative Soil course. Soil OM is 14%, have 2.5 million worms per acre. Yet my yields were not stellar by any means. Had my first soil test in 60 years of gardening - Logan Labs Melich 3 - then applied minerals (not chemical salts) as per Steve Solomon's recipe in The Intelligent Gardener... and my crops are doing MUCH better. We've been extracting minerals from our soils every year for generations, resulting in nutrient deficient food. Solomon's reminaeralization program restores nutrient density to our food, and health to our bodies. It is entirely possible to have nutrient-poor organic food! As Solomon explaiins it, biology needs nutrients to create robust soil, so it stands to reason that a mineral deficient soil can be greatly improved by replacing the mineral food for the biology. And Yes, John Kempf is truly part of the solution, but Big Ag is not!!! It IS the problem to which we need solutions.

    lol my tap has 450ppm sulfates. Everyones tap is different, check your local municipal tests online. Only way to remove sulfates is Reverse Osmosis, or Ionization. Carbon filters wont do a thing for sulfates and some others contaminates. I bought an RO system and havent looked back. 450ppm taking up my nutrient budget was absurd and honestly old people, people with kidney issues, and kids shouldn't even be drinking my local tap with 450ppm sulfate.

    The source is not the issue. The issue is the quality and contents of the water. From the faucet, My tap ph’s at 7.8-8.2, but has less than 80 ppm. And since it’s treated, I ALWAYS aerate it with an air stone for a minimum of 24 hours to allow the Chlorine and chloromine evaporate before use.

    I live in Hampton VA and I read the city water report. It's bad. There's the typical chlorine and fluoride, plus chemicals from fire fighting on the military bases and industrial chemicals from hundreds of years of factories and ship yards and military waste. So I buy water and hope it's cleaner. $1.25 a gallon at the Dollar Tree isn't terribly expensive for my little garden.

      How do you keep your pH stable in that base? Do you even worry about it? I was looking at these and they sound interesting but I was worried about that. Especially since my tap water is 8.2 pH and pH down only keeps it low for a few hours.

  • @stephenrodriguez7181
    @stephenrodriguez7181 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    If you're running organic and do bottom watering just try micro ponding (bottom dressing). It works great and a sure way to make sure the dressing is used properly without over watering. Also a countertop RO unit with a remineralizer filter is a great investment. Bubble that water with 1/8 teaspoon of dolomite lime per gallon of water until it reaches a ppm of 60-65. On the last three weeks bring the ppm down to about 35 ppm and bubble with 2-3 grains of epsom salt per gallon of water. The epsom salt helps bring out those natural terpenes at the end, just don't go more then a few grains per gallon of water or it could be trouble. Happy growing.

      @Tara-Maya I beg to differ with the setup I got, but you do what works best for you. I do TLO style and the micros in the soil do best with a ppm under 70. I have two carbon filters but they only remove chlorine and other chemicals but doesn't change the ppm. My tap water averages at 160 ppm so way to high for my setup. Check out The Revs True Living Organics, stuffs next level when you stick with the formula.
