From Within
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 31 ส.ค. 2021
From Within is where an autistic guy showcases his passions: music, movies and life itself. I use music to communicate, to express myself, to feel. Here you can find original compositions, covers, discussions about movies - always from the heart and always From Within.

Lost Time | PIANO ORIGINAL
มุมมอง 867 หลายเดือนก่อน
The first sustained piece of music I've written in over a year, and the first solely on keyboard. It's about time and memories and how the last thing to fade are the dreams you made in childhood. I'm really rather proud of it. I film a lot of scenery shots in case they'll come in handy, so all of these are from my local area in the last couple of years. Hope you enjoy!
Jamming over a 30-year-old riff
มุมมอง 16710 หลายเดือนก่อน
I wrote a riff when I was 16 and never managed to use it for anything, so instead of letting it die, I decided to resurrect it for one last hurrah on my trusty (rusty) guitar!
Cello Looper | Beginner ROCKS OUT!
มุมมอง 536ปีที่แล้ว
My second Looper recording. I'm using Line 6 Pod Go, 3Sigma Impulse Response and my new Lakato Mini Looper pedal thing. Plus my Yamaha SVC210, of course. Been playing just under three years. I'm not particularly proficient, but I grew up listening to Nirvana - passion is more important than accuracy. At least, that's what I tell myself!!! Hope you enjoy x
METAL CELLO sounds AMAZING!
มุมมอง 1.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Three days after discovering looper pedals, I wrote this metal song. It is ALL cello (except the drums) and the sounds come from the Line 6 Pod Go, except a bit of reverb and EQ tweaking in post. If you'd like to know how I made the cello sound like an electric guitar, I'll explain it all in another video. Let me know! In the meantime, rock out and enjoy x
Using CELLO LOOPER for the first time | Line 6 Pod Go

I discovered how to use the Looper on the Pod Go today and it is a gamechanger. Ho boy, such good fun! Check out my Wah-Face (hadn't realised I did that) and my Peppa Pig socks! Let me know what you think, what I'm doing wrong and what you think I can do to improve. Thanks for watching x
CELLO PROGRESS: 1 Week vs. 2.5 Years | Schindler's List

I started playing the cello aged 40, learning through TH-cam, experimentation, and sheer bloody-mindedness! This is how far I've come on one piece. Thanks to John Williams and my subscribers! Please check out my original pieces xxx

Should you buy cheap distortion pedals for electric cello?
มุมมอง 1.5K2 ปีที่แล้ว
As a beginner cellist, I've been trying out various pedals, fx units and amps to shape my sound. Unsure of the difference between the Behringer BOD400 Bass Overdrive and the OD300 Overdrive/Distortion pedals, I tested them both. If you don't want to hear me waffle on, skip to 06:15.

Everything Everywhere All At Once - Reaction/Review (from the UK)

Just been to an advance screening of this bizarre, absurd, exciting movie (in the UK - it seems to have been out in the US a few weeks already). Here are my initial thoughts on it and why movies like this are so important. It's a film about family, about pain, about parents and children, hope and depression. How every decision we make and every experience we go through has led us to this person...
TIME on Electric Cellos | Hans Zimmer
มุมมอง 3832 ปีที่แล้ว
To celebrate two years of learning the cello (mostly from TH-cam vids), I made this in two days. Time was one of the songs that inspired me to take up the instrument, and I'll be forever grateful to Hans Zimmer for writing this masterpiece. The original still gives me chills, and the Live in Prague performance inspired this interpretation: th-cam.com/video/va1oiojnGrA/w-d-xo.html If you enjoyed...
Learn to Live Without You | SOOTHING Cello & Piano (original composition)
มุมมอง 1282 ปีที่แล้ว
An original cello/piano composition. I've been playing the cello a little under two years and the keyboard for a few months. I challenged myself to write something where I could play with both hands at once, and overlay multiple cello tracks to get a more orchestral sound. A bit of a tearjerker...at least to me! Please feel free to like, share and subscribe.

oh wow I just wonder how good you must be now. Congrats. Just starting as an adult. It is hard but so satisfying. Do you think you could let me know the notes for the Gladiator?
What's the song at 2:22 for month 12? I really enjoyed the sound, especially with the electric cello
Beutiful voice and guitar skills 🎉🎉❤❤
Not bad for first week, but wow great progress by 2.5!
I was curious about bass amp, versus a guitar amp. Bass amp makes sense.
Doo-hicky lol my mum used to say Doo-hicky ☺
Really enjoyed your video ! Thank you for sharing !
Well i just started watching the video and heard you talking about the noise trying to amplify it i probably would recommend putting a wire pick up in there or a different after market you could simply use something like what they call a woody pick up that just pops up by it ect they been using that stuff since 30s
Also use the new boss acoustic amp or fishman for premium sound for guitar
Really electro cello ?? 😢
I had a similar electric cello and designed and 3D printed pieces including new chest rest and upper and lower bouts (had to saw the old ones off, which was a huge leap of faith), and use an external piezoelectric pickup to completely bypass the horrible built-in electronics. Because of the 3D printed pieces and how I mount them (designed to be removable) the cello now packs very small and is easy to get back to playable form in a couple minutes. I can actually store the cello, adjustable chair, stand, and external amplifier in the trunk of my 2004 Mustang (not known for trunk space). I mostly use if for practice to not disturb others, but will bring it out for informal concerts and other venues. Draws a lot of interest from people who might not otherwise be interested in cello.
I play a cecilio electric and I bypassed the electronics by connecting the piezo to one of the headphone jacks. I use a guitar pedal to give it distortion. I also reshaped the bridge for easy action. Overall I really like it. I used it on a big rig and can play inside or outside blasting over the engine. I think it is a great way to play cello in places I would not want to take an accoustic.
What I'm hearing from a lot of people is that with adaptations, it's not such a bad instrument. I'll admit I have no technical know-how for how to convert it from its boxed state into one that worked for me, but I'm glad it does for you. And playing on a big rig? That's awesome 👌 👏 😁
@@fromwithin8916 I made a video on how to modify the cello. I did not show how to carve the bridge. I used a 20 dollar rotary hand tool from walmart. My cello is not vegan but I recommend going vegan. I just drank 1 ounce of apple cider vinegar in 12 ounces of ice water 4 times a day and even after falling on my elbow 2 times it removed my inflammation. It also helped with my rash and acne!
Beautifully done sir. I have to ask, what you used to learn with?
Bravooo
The Yamaha SVC looks like an awesome electric cello. Your intonation on this cello is really good!
Very cool riff and other parts, solo.
Thank you so much 😁
Get geared tuners & it'll stay in tune
No, it's not an omelet to be 2.5 weeks old! 😅 I've been playing for a year now and I'm making it worse!😂😂😂
your not oriental your body is a foot higher on average!! that assessory is for smaller people!....
Calm your racism. There are tall orientals. You adjust the end pin if you are taller. I can play this standing up with the pin fully extended.
@@jaredkaye3669 nothing racist about that comment child!!!!!!
@@jaredkaye3669 get a new prescription to go along with your failings in reading and comprending! .....
@@willieboy8798 I am not a child. If I called an instrument made in your country of origin not meant for other people because of your body shape is ridiculous. We embargoed China for electric cars and solar panels. You can fit in the car. You can use the solar panel to convert photons to voltage. You can pull the end pin out.
@@willieboy8798 It is like saying you subjugate Mexico to be fat. This is worse than making a cheap electric instrument that you can fix with a 5 dollar bridge and a 15 dollar guitar pedal.
Od 300 on Max distortion sounds crazy 😁
This is underrated ⭐🌠
Im thinking of starting cello but probably going to go with a electric . Ive already got the guitar and bass amps 😊
Awesome! Did you have previous experience with other instruments? I'm 30, and I play the piano to a decent higher-intermediate level, and I've been thinking about picking up the cello!
Having the guitar wrapped by crime scene tape was hilarious!
The way that cello encourages thumb clamping is a recipe for tennis elbow and other repetitivee strain injury. Definitely avoid the cheap electrics. It isn't worth it.
How do you have such nice sound?
Great review! I loved this film as well. You review very well
Huge potential with this instrument, the problem is that no one knows how to use it. Sort of like an unmanned sports car. Sad! In a rock or metal band that would be crazy 🤘🎸🥁🎶🎵🎵🎵

Nice progress but the classical cello and the electric is not a fair comparison together Angelina
Sounds good! I think you can bow more though. It will brighten your tone and especially for this song make the quavers sound nicer
Thank you. Really .Thank you.
nice, more pedal reviews please! Cellist wanting pedals and not finding anyone reviewing them together!!! 🙂
Great progress. You need to open up your forearm as you go towards the tip of your bow. Will make things more fluid.
Hi I want to self learn cello too should I buy used cello or new one, can you help?
Fast forward almost a year... 7 Oscars!!
Great review, thanks man
Btw cool to see you rocking out in past 5 minutes but i will say you have to make sure to apply weight when bowing and to make sure that your bow isnt ever hooked
Woah this is awesome, i am 11 and past grade 8 and trust me you made more progress than me in my 4.5 year of playing. no doubt you will excel and reach that grade in months to come
Thank you, I never got beyond Grade 1, particularly on theory, so I have some work to do 😉
👋👋👋👋
Great job, a bit flat on some notes
Hi, thanks for the comment. Yeah, I heard those too. I find that with the electric cello, since the sound goes directly into the bridge and the pickups, there's absolutely nowhere to hide when it comes to pitch, whereas with my acoustic cello, the resonance of the body and reverb from the room gives a little more leeway. Funnily enough, in my headphones while recording, it sounded great, even in the loops, but on playback the notes that were off sounded much more prominent. In the video, after recording the third loop, I give a little smirk because according to my headphones, I'd nailed it. I've never worked out why the sound in my headphones while playing is different to the sound that is recorded. Often it sounds really alive while playing and the recording sounds quite dull and lifeless, despite using the same headphones, same audio interface. But yes, long story short, I need to work on my accuracy 🙂
Some slow scales will fix that😂
With a metronome off course
@Anastasia I just acquired a cello teacher and that's exactly what she said! Scales, scales, scales, scales and more scales 🙂🙃🙂
And lastly I recommend renting acoustic cellos once you get to grade 8+ level . It’s a great way of avoiding the price of paying for cello and you can get some seriously good 50 grand + cellos for minimal price
You Sir, are an inspiration. I also learn the cello myself right now. You certainly had improved over time. Amazing! So, how did you learn without Music Theory? Just learn by reading basic notes C to C and by hearing?
It's really bad to 2.5y ...
Let's see your progress, then, buddy.
wah over cello, excellent stuff, thats what music is for.
Hell yes!
I think It would be a good idea to get a teacher. Your bow hold still needs work. That is a major thing that is hampering your progress.
Wow, great progression in such a short period of time. So neat to hear the Bach Suite 1 Prelude at the beginning and after 18 months. Big difference without a live teacher. You must be proud.
Awesome progress at both 1 week and 2.5 years! I know I wasn't nearly this good at either of these points. An easy thing to improve for now is try to remember to keep your left elbow nice and lifted. I still have an issue with this after playing decades if I'm tired, haha. But it does help to get a better angle on the strings.
Good vibrato.
Wow! That's inspired me👍👍👍
pretty good for an adult learner for 2.5 years. clean shifts, okay vibrato.. good job!<3 keep learning my only large piece of advice would be your bowing and dynamics. i wish there was more phrasing and tension, and your bow skidded alot. which i know doesn't matter for electric i guess, but it's good to sharpen that technique. i advise to learn a piece on the acoustic, then play on the electric th-cam.com/video/2bAeWFIUhuI/w-d-xo.html here's a good reference video!
Me after playing the violin years and yeeeears..: "Nope!" :D
