How to loosen (or tighten) crankshaft pulley w/ C-clamp and old alternator belt
Here is the method I use to hold a crankshaft pully while you remove or tighten the bolt. I've used this technique on a 2005 Toyota Camry, and a 1995 Honda Prelude. I hope it helps you. Please give me a like if you tried this and it helped you. Thanks

Easy foundation vent screen repair
มุมมอง 27K5 ปีที่แล้ว
www.dbnimble.com/FoundationVentRepairKit.php For vents installed around mid 1990's to today that keep having the mesh or screen pop out. I had 2 houses that had these vents, each with mesh or screens popping out, so I decided to develop an easy solution. One that critters can't chew through. Just coming back around to say that it's been 2.5 years since I purchased these vent screens to repair about half the original screens on my house that had popped out or become bent/damaged. I am sooooooo pleased with their quality and how well they've held up. Most importantly, I haven't had one critter get in my house since putting these on. I just ordered another batch to go ahead and cover my vents that weren't yet missing/damaged since they're now the weak points and I'd rather just prevent anything from happening. Thank you for making these so I don't have to go into the creepy crawlspace!

      I can't figure out how you'd make that work, but if you do please make a video. That would be interesting.

      @@DBNimbleRepairs Nope, didn't work 😭the pulley kept slipping on the belt, because it wasn't able to be tight enough. I just decided to use the alternator belt [and order a replacement]. Worked a treat, many thanks😀

    I just broke the crankshaft pulley bolt loose on my 2008 Honda Fit! I used a "3:1 Torque Multiplier ($257 new on Amazon)" and the crank pulley holding tool ($13). I ran a bunch of 1/2" extensions out from the multiplier and rested them on a jack stand and used a breaker bar with a 4 ft. cheater pipe on it and it broke loose. Even though the torque multiplier is rated for 1100 ft/lbs, I still had to put out on that cheater pipe. My 450 ft/lb. electric impact with the special crankshaft 19mm socket from Honda was not enough to break it loose.

    Nice. How much torque do you think you could put on that before it would slip or break? My Toyota requires 169ft/lb.

    I bought these earlier this year (fast turnaround time on order) and just got around to installing today. The materials are high quality & it was very easy to install just as video showed. Best yet, I didn’t have to fumble around in dark dirty crawl space & feel better going into this winter knowing I won’t be home to unwanted house guests (which is how I came to inspect my vents to find the broken screens in the first place). I honestly don’t know how these things aren’t in all the hardware stores cause they work great.

    I would use adhesive caulk around the outside of the screen to totally seal and keep critters out.

    I just moved into our "new" house, which is over 25 years old. It is less than a mile from the ocean, so several of the vent screens were rusted out or missing. I ordered 10 of these kits. My order was received within a few days. The kits come with a bracket, screen, and screws. They were very easy to install, just as the video shows. The screens are cut precisely so the holes in the screen line up perfectly with the screw holes in the bracket. Also, the screw holes in the bracket are tapped, so the screws went in very easily. These worked so well, I ordered 6 more for the rest of my foundation vents. TS

    Just watch the "elastomer" between balancer hub and ring...don't want that loosening up.

    • @ws4835
      @ws4835 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is what I’d be concerned with but I think these have 2 belts going through them (power steering and the alternator belt) seems like the power steering belt is on the smaller pulley without the elastomer while the alternator belt goes on the larger pulley which has the elastomer layer. I’d do this trick with the power steering side of the harmonic balancer just to be safer.

    So a few people have purchased some of these brackets from me, so I've decided to make few more. Here are the models of trailers that they've gone to. We checked the dimensions before purchase. They haven't come back, so I think they've worked. See the video description for the current Craigslist link for these brackets if you need any. 1995 Coleman Fleetwood Royale 1999 Coleman Taos (that was a snug fit - saw it in person - contact me if you have one of these and are interested in a bracket.) 2005 Fleetwood Highlander Niagra Fleetwood Wayside - not sure of the year.
