11-Hour Journey | From Yonago to Tokyo in a Nobinobi Seat on the Sunrise Izumo
"Join me on an 11-hour overnight journey from Yonago to Tokyo in a Nobinobi Seat on the Sunrise Izumo!"
The Nobinobi Seat is a carpeted space without traditional reclining seats, offering a unique train travel experience.
To be honest, it wasn’t the most comfortable setup - my body felt a bit sore from the hard carpet.
And to make things more challenging, my neighbor had clearly enjoyed quite a few drinks, leaving a strong smell of alcohol lingering nearby.
But here’s the secret to surviving:
A sleeping bag
Earplugs
An eye mask
With these three essentials, I managed to completely shut out the environment and surprisingly got a solid 8 hours of sleep.
The heavy snow in the San'in region created a breathtaking snowy landscape outside the window as the train glided through the night.
Come along and experience this unforgettable train journey with me!

    Welcome back Mr. Machi Bura! It sounds like such a magical way of traveling! In my country, this used to exist but slowly disappeared. I do remember one time we dropped my grandma at the station I could explore the cabin where she was staying and it was very cool. My young self thought about traveling Europe in such a way, but now it is impossible. But maybe I will get to do it in Japan. The sound of the train in the background made me sleepy jaja it is kind of like ASMR. I hope you enjoyed the trip! It was a nice video, thank you!

      Thank you for your wonderful comment! Yes, even in Japan, sleeper trains are slowly disappearing due to the development of faster transportation like bullet trains and airplanes. It’s a bit sad, but this trip, though it took time, was such a beautiful and unique experience. Thank you for watching and sharing your story.

    Today my stomach feels sick so I haven't been able to eat, but honestly, the food you made looked so yummy! I haven't had fish in so long. It looks awesome! It is also a perfect way to use cabbage. I love cabbage, but I barely know any recipes in which I can use it. About politics, I am not a fan of Donald Trump, but it was still shocking to hear the news. Especially because I always feel like this type of violence resonates on the rest of the world and it spreads. I am hoping that the world does not become more violent and rather becomes more peaceful. (Oh btw, for some reason even when I like the videos the counter of likes does not change, is that normal? I am wondering if there is something wrong so I continue to click like a million times, but it never works. Just letting you know). I hope you enjoyed the dinner! Continue taking great care of yourself!

      Hi there! I hope you're feeling better now. Yes, cabbage is really delicious and versatile, isn't it? March is when it's the sweetest and tastiest, so I'm looking forward to spring. I am sorry you had to go to a crowded area, it can be very overwhelming. I am working surrounded by people at all times, so I understand how overwhelming it can be. The sound that the chicken made against the cutting board scared me jaja it was very loud! Also, the miso soup with mushrooms and greeny leaves (is it spinach?) looks delicious. Lately, I haven't been able to eat as many veggies as I normally do and instead, I have been eating much more meat, so I am a bit tired of it. I will say that the chicken salad looked very good too. I wonder how umeboshi tastes. I am happy you are taking care of yourself! Continue working hard!

      Good morning.Thank you for always giving me feedback. I'm sorry for scaring you with the loud noise. Sound is indeed an important element. It can be quite unpleasant when a loud noise suddenly occurs.The green vegetable is lettuce. I add leftover vegetables to the miso soup to get some dietary fiber. With the yen's depreciation, meat has become really expensive, so I end up using a lot of chicken.

    New video! I like that even after working so hard you are preparing a nutritious and yummy dish for yourself. I do miss the biking and the vlog you did in your free time, but it is very nice to get new recipes. I hope that you enjoyed the meal. It is different from the way we prepare food in Spain so I am very curious to try to make it, although some of the sauces might be difficult to find.

      Thank you for your comment, Rachel! I’m also curious about Spanish cuisine. The cooking time for my dishes is usually around 20 minutes. OMG VOICE OFF!! oh you did mention about the people not changing the person in power and you were right, they voted for the same! Maybe they like the stability they create in Tokyo. Btw are mushrooms not expensive in Japan? Where I live they are kinda expensive. I like yellow too, it is one of my favorite colors. I do not normally use yellow peppers tho. I will cook this dish as soon as I can! It is simple and seems yummy. That pan with the disattachable handle is super cool too. Thank you for another amazing video!

      Thank you for your comment! The frying pan I used is from T-fal, a French brand. They make some really handy cookware with detachable handles. It’s interesting that the recent UK general election resulted in a change of government. In Japan, elections often reflect generational differences, with support varying significantly between those in their 40s and those over 50. This recent election saw a high voter turnout of 60%, showing strong public interest. Regarding mushrooms, they’re relatively affordable in Japan because they’re mass-produced in factories, which helps keep prices stable. I’m glad you enjoyed the video.Thanks again for watching!

    Woa I really was waiting for this video. Feels great to see you treating yourself for a meal out. I'll be honest the tonkatsu looked so yummy 🤤 and the egg sandwich too. Lately I have been stressed working, so seeing your day off feels like a break to me too. Watching your videos make me want to go ride a bicycle again and once I go back home I will do it. The tongue is back jajajaja 😛I was thinking about what people drink in Spain during the summer and it might be because I am craving some, but I thought about granizados. It is like a shaved ice drink with juice from different fruits. The most well-known is the lemon granizado, but I really like the orange one. Oh and also horchata which is like a plant-based milk made from "tiger nuts" (according to the internet that is the translation). I don't like it tho. Mmm I guess also sangria and tinto de verano, which are based on Spanish red wine. It is so nice to clean and feel everything sparkling after. I also like that in Japan you soak in the water, I feel it adds quality to the life of people. Here we just take quick showers, it doesn't feel like self-care... :( Damn fancy aluminum foil jaja it is nice that things like those that make life easier exist. Woa a new perspective on the bike ride! Oh I didn't think anytime fitness was also in Japan, it is funny to see something familiar in an unfamiliar place jaja Oh! also it is the first time you partially show your face! (that I remember of) You look so young haha! I am glad you eat well because it feels like you're still growing jaja Also I think a peaceful life of cooking is so nice. I can't wait to live independently and do my little things every day. Thanks for the hard work, I enjoyed the video!

      I had never heard of granizados before, but they look delicious! My hometown is famous for lemons, so I’ll try making some when I go back. Sangria is also well-known in Japan. Anytime Fitness is very popular here in Japan too. Gold’s Gym is also quite famous. Japan has many hot springs due to its volcanic activity, so bathing has become a cultural tradition. I’m really happy to receive your comments. Thank you!

    JAJAJAJAJA thanks for specifying that you are a boxer type of guy jajaja I am still trying to figure out how to make oniguiris. Where I live they don't really exist except in some specific stores/restaurants and they are too far to go as often as I would like. Maybe, in the future, you could show in detail how you make them (mine are a mess, I think it might be because of the type of rice or because I don't have a rice cooker). Also, I was honestly impressed at how you cut the aluminum foil. When I do it it always breaks. We are sworn enemies. I really love the bike rides, wish I could bike to work! It feels like you are a very active person, good for you! I am not very knowledgeable about alcohol since I don't drink any, but it is always nice to see how people feel happy when drinking it after a long day. Btw, I have noticed I have like sixty comments in one jajajaja sorry about that.

    • @machibura9395
      @machibura9395 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Making onigiris can be tricky without the right rice or a rice cooker. But you can also use an Instant Pot or a T-fal pot. I’ll try it sometime in the future. I like biking to work. It’s not very common in Tokyo, where most people commute by train. I’m not very knowledgeable about alcohol either, but it’s always nice to enjoy a drink after a long day. Don’t worry about the many comments; I enjoy reading them! Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    Wow the scenes where you are riding the bike are so cool. It is very relaxing. Also, there were soooo many bikes parked jaja (OH! by the way, "jaja" is an expression of laughter, same with "haha" or "hehe". I am Spanish and the onomatopoeia of laughter in Spain is written with "j" while in English countries are written with "h". Sorry I didn't explain before!) I also used to enjoy Starbucks, but with the global perspective in mind, I stopped going. However, ever since I discovered a lot of smaller coffee shops in my city. Btw, I am really curious as to how you film yourself when you are cooking. It seems complicated. And man, washing the dishes right after finishing eating is one of the most difficult steps into adulthood. I am also very surprised by the amount of greenery that there is. My city in comparison is just concrete. And about your life being too simple: I honestly believe a simple life is a blessing, HOWEVER, if it is a bit too simple for you I always recommend starting a new hobby or doing something special to break the routine. When I feel overwhelmed I go to the beach to read a book. Anyway, good video Mr. Machi Bura!

      Hi @Rachrye8! Thanks for your comment and insights! I’m learning a lot from your explanations, like how laughter is written differently in Spanish and English.I’m curious, what do you think Starbucks means by their “global perspective”? I appreciate your thoughts on living a simple life. I’ll consider trying new hobbies to mix things up. Going to the beach to read sounds lovely!Thanks again for your support and feedback. See you in the next video!

    • @Rachrye8

      @@machibura9395 What I refer to by the global perspective of Starbucks is the fact that they sued their own union labor because the union would not delete a tweet expressing solidarity for Palestine. Hence, quieting down the issue or indirectly supporting Israel (plus treating their workers poorly). That is why a global boycott against Starbucks was created. I understand wars are conflicts between countries and both attack, but I feel Israel is trying to eradicate Palestine. I do not go to Starbucks because I think the company's ethics is terrible. Also, the coffee in Spain is normally around 1 euro (172,38 yens) or a little more and in Starbucks, the quality is lower and much more expensive. Furthermore, I don't like coffee. I only drink chai, milk, or juices. I used to like frappuccinos tho, but they have too much sugar and I get headaches. So as you can see there are several reasons why 😅 Now that I think about it I don't think it matters too much that I won't go since I was not a very usual customer anyway🥲 Oh and sorry for the long comment. I am quite the chatterbox! Have a nice day Mr. Machi Bura.

      Ethics in business is a tough issue. I envy how cheap coffee is in Spain! I prefer caffeine-free rooibos tea because I have atopic dermatitis. In Japan, Starbucks is popular as a study space rather than a place for conversations, more like a library. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    • @Rachrye8
      @Rachrye8 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@machibura9395 Does coffee make atopic dermatitis worse? I also have atopic dermatitis, but I didn't know coffee affected the skin! My dermatitis is terrible in my hands right now because I wash them so much 🥲 Here other coffee shops like sandwichez are popular for that, although lately, shared space offices have been getting popular 😗

    Hello! First-time user in your channel. I love channels like yours, so if you are open to suggestions I would like to give you one piece of advice. I will be quite straightforward so if I come off as rude please forgive me, I do not mean to be rude. Also, I am a no-one so you don't have to listen to me if you don't feel like it matches what you want. Anyway, here we go. The voice-off is not very appealing, people most time prefer the quietness and read what you would like to comment on introduced in the subtitles. So it is more relaxing and less overstimulating (especially because the voice is artificial). You don't need to say too much and if you want to create a relaxing vibe I recommend making the scenes a bit longer, otherwise there is so much happening in a short period of time that people don't soak in it. That is at least what I have caught on from the different channels that I follow. I really enjoyed watching what you did on your day off, thank you for sharing. And I do hope that you eat more veggies in the future hehe. Good luck!

      Hi there! Thank you so much for your comment. I'm really excited to receive feedback since I've been studying English in Japan without much interaction with native speakers. It's my first time seeing the expression "hehe." It wasn't in my textbooks, so I'm guessing it's similar to how we use "草" or "笑" in Japanese. I have a friend who struggles with reading, so I include audio in my videos for them. I tried recording my own voice, but it didn't sound as good as I hoped, so I use artificial voice instead. Thank you for your suggestions and for watching my video. I'll definitely think about how I can improve my content. And yes, I'll try to eat more veggies! Good luck to you too!
