    What a hungry kid and what a patient new mom! My does nurse the kids only for several seconds, then just step over them. But kids are fine, growing fast, healthy and strong. They are Nigerian Dwarfs, so I assume they don't need to have as much milk as full sized goats, maybe because of high fat content. I have a Lamancha doe which has only one kid and her udder is getting lopsided, but she's not allowing any other kid or me to have her milk - it's only for her precious baby. :)

      @@foxhollowfarms23 That's a good idea, I've been debating on how I should construct a new enclosure for our domestic fowl too. Just not sure how the zoning and ordinances would rule that as. We can only have a 120sqft, anything bigger than that is considered an accessory building and needs inspection. Does your build have a way of not being considered a full enclosure? And how's the Red Golden holding up? I just got a juvenile, the dudes colors are starting to come in, have to say, they are very skittish compared to most I've seen. Maybe its due to how they're raised from birth or taming?

    OK buddy, I cannot ignore this that I need to tell you. First thing first, you should have had an extra set of hands. You should not ever do something like this again by yourself, this is irresponsible. Second thing, you should have cleaned the area before you cut it open. This can cause a horrible staph infection because you did not clean the area nor did you use a sterile knife. Clean is not sterile. Shame on you. Third thing is that you should have cleaned all the blood up around the eye and then used an antiseptic to prevent post surgical infection. These animals depend on us as they cannot talk so you have to be their advocate, the puss you drained from the site, you should have sent that off to your vet and ask him to do the pathology on it. This would have told you whether or not the penicillin would resolve the infection. I know you did not want to do it, but if you choose to do it, you have to do it the right way. Staph infections are a danger to him and you. You were wreck-less and insensitive in the care of your bird. Would you like me take a non-sterile knife and cut your lower eye lid? I don't think so, you can do better than this, wear gloves next time too.

    • @foxhollowfarms23
      @foxhollowfarms23 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nuture right 360 is my absolute favorite! I use that for my duck eggs and anything fancy. its a dummy proof incubator. I also have a styrofoam hova incubator, I use that for the quail eggs. Also 2 eBay incubators not sure what their brands are.

    Good to hear the pheasants are doing well - here in SD they can be a nuisance bc they overpopulate and cause a lot of front end/grill car damage as well as the deer - hope your farm continues to grow and prosper 🙏💯👍
