Anyone know a video like this with the camera looking forward from the rear? I find almost every video looking from the front... it's already weird thinking of everything upside down but even harder to visualize it mirroring it

Thank you for the clear underwater view (and relaxed approach). I l teach quite a few canoe skills beginning from the end, so this is intuitive to me and gives me confidence I’m going to get a functional roll. With renewed resolve I’m heading to the beach tomorrow to give this a try.

Θα ηθελα να μαθω εαν, εκτος απο την ευελιξία για την οποια φημίζεται το σκαφος, μπορει να ειναι ΚΑΙ ευθυβολο με το skeg κατω. Χρηση: προπονησουλες με μετριο καιρο κ ταξιδακια καλοκαιρινα. Σκέφτομαι να φτιαξω ενα SG και συλλεγω πληροφορίες. Θα ειναι το 3ο SG που θα φτιαξω. Θανασης.

Pretty significant to notice how relaxed you are under water... calmly checking your paddle angle before initiating the roll... even taking a few seconds to adjust your hood. Well done!!

Ive learnt another valuable skill... i can see how you are realising air slowly thru your nostrils to get the water out! i took a note of it as im using nose plugs for rolling but in real situations nose plugs will not be used

How is this useful in wild water or sea wave conditions I just learned to screw roll much safer when things go wrong.

θα θέλαμε να κάνουμε μία εβδομάδα kayak expendition στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του Βενετο. Ο καιρός πως είναι συνήθως μέσα Ιουνίου? Ελεύθερο camping θα είναι εφικτό? Θα βρούμε αρκετές παραλίες για στήσιμο σκηνής ώστε να κάνουμε μόνο 3 ώρες κουπί την ημέρα? Σε ποίο χωριό να αφήσουμε το αυτοκίνητο με ασφάλεια? Ευχαριστώ για το χρόνο σου.

I had some excellent training in the pool over winter but for me it was a bit rushed and I never managed to roll my kayak that way. This summer the weather has been excellent so I dug out my paddle float and decided to go down to a little sheltered bay to see if I could teach myself. Before I went I watched a few videos on rolling just to get the techniques into my head. This is the video that i think helped me most. It is the calm way that he does it. I watch it just before I head to the sea to remind myself that there is no need to rush or panic and that I can enjoy the sensation of being upturned under the water. Every day I have got nearer to a proper roll. With the float on the paddle it is too easy to rely upon it and sometimes I know that I was just pushing myselfup with it but slowly my technique has improved and I can tell when it is the knee and hip snap that is creating the roll and I'm doing that more often. Yesterday I was pretty much there. I let nearly all of the air from the float and still managed to roll if a little untidily. Once I get it completely nailed I am going to practice like crazy. I think its a very good technique to build confidence in your paddling. Thank you very much for the video
