Beautiful Dreamer - Bill Shirley
มุมมอง 39K13 ปีที่แล้ว
From the classic movie, I Dream of Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair (1952). Sung by: Bill Shirley Lyrics: Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me, Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee; Sounds of the rude world, heard in the day, Lull'd by the moonlight have all pass'd away! Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song, List while I woo thee with soft melody; Gone are the cares of life's busy throng, Beau...
A Christmas Carol / The Cable Guy - Somebody has to kill the babysitter
มุมมอง 1.4K13 ปีที่แล้ว
While I was watching this part in 'A Christmas Carol', I was thinking that this scene was almost similar with the last part in 'The Cable Guy' where he said "somebody has to kill the babysitter". The idea just hit me in the face. By the way, they're both voiced by the same actor, Jim Carrey. Sorry if it's choppy.

One Day I'll Fly Away (Tony Phillips Remix) Music Video
Still made me crack a smile
Mmmm, Orson!
😂😂😂😂😂 classic
I used to play my keyboard for my mother Jackie. She loved to hear me play. The last time I played for her (in January 2020) I played this song over and over again, as well as "O Beulah Land" ("As on thy highest mount I stand"...) She passed away a week later, but the memory of this "last hurrah" with her is very special.
In 2002 there was a lot of hoopla about the movie. I didn’t see it but I was captivated by this remix and the video. So dreamlike and Nicole Kidman did a great job singing.

Bill Shirley, the singing & speaking voice of Prince Phillip in Disney's animated masterpiece, "Sleeping Beauty. "
That's quite a serenade.
"Beautiful Dreamer" was written by Stephen Collins Foster in 1862 and published posthumously in 1864; Foster was an enormously popular songwriter of the mid-19th Century, and this was one of the most popular parlor songs of the era, although Foster died before hearing it sung professionally. The movie is a Hollywood version of Foster's life, and he wrote all of the songs used in the film, including the famous title song. Bill Shirley is perhaps best known for singing "On the Street Where You Live" in the musical "My Fair Lady." (Jeremy Brett, the actor who played Freddy in the musical, lip-synced the words.) If Foster had heard Shirley's version of the song, I think he would have been immensely pleased. Shirley's film and recording credits are very long (see his bio on the internet), but he was largely cast in B-movies and used as a "ghost-singer' for other actors and animated characters. If his voice sounds familiar, you may have heard him as the singing voice of Prince Phillip in the animated version (Disney) of "Sleeping Beauty." Shirley was a fabulous talent and deserved far greater recognition that he got during his life time. The last ten years of his life he worked in the real estate department of Litton Industries. He died in 1989.

Nothing I can do about it🤣🤣🤣
It's really that line that gets me lol 😅😆
This one is catchier IMO. But both are great.
The genuine Bambi artwork that you see in the video is actually very tiny.
That hummingbird was once my pfp. Greatest underrated Disney scrap character

I remember being so amazed and singing along with the song . Bambi will always be my favorite childhood movie
Me too.
In my opinion, Bambi is the most flawless of all the Disney Animated features. It moves at a great pace with little filler and really captures a true life story and a timeless feel with it only focusing on animals.
Here are the lyrics of Rain Drops I, I, I, I like, I like fall, I like fall, I like falling, I like falling, Have to keep falling Have to keep falling Have to keep falling all around Have to keep falling Have to keep falling Have to keep falling Have to keep falling Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling to the ground Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling Have to keep singing on a cloudy day Have to keep singing Have to keep singing Have to wash all those little dull cares away Have to keep washing Have to keep washing Have to make all those babbling brooklets full Keep them flowing Keep them flowing Have to make all those little green pastures grow Keep them growing, growing Have to grow Have to grow Have to grow Have to grow those little green pastures Little Green Pastures Little Green Pastures Have to grow those little green pastures Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling to the ground Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling Have to keep tumbling Have to keep falling Have to keep falling Have to keep falling all around I like falling, I like falling, I like falling, I like falling, I like, I like, I, I, I

My favorite version of this song is actually from the Magicians tv show and song by reptilian hallucination Elliot. th-cam.com/video/Lk1g_FPyAWg/w-d-xo.html
How can a guy with a voice like that not be as famous as Bing Frankie etc.
It sounds almost creepy at the very beginning, but turns into a really nice, cheerful song! I like it a lot! (Though I really like the one in the film as well.)
Anyone else remember watching the Making-Of of Bambi as a kid?
I do
I do.
Yup! 1997 vhs copy had it
Me!
Oh yes. Now, as a seven-year-old boy I didn't quite understand everything I was watching but, great memories.
