I got out of that mindset a few years ago. Now I only buy what I really like and know I will use. I stopped following alot of beauty content creators that would show every drop because they got everything in PR and then hype every launch up like it was the best thing ever. I follow the brands I really like and only get the ones that make sense to me and what I like.

I've always been drawn to alternative makeup and wore my makeup dark and smudgy with pops of bright pink, red, purple, etc. in high school and in my early 20s but "grew out of it" because society told me to. I started following more mainstream trends. But recently (partly thanks to you!) I've started to express myself with more alternative makeup again! I'm starting to blend what I learn from you and Nikki La Rose and really enjoying makeup again!

My mom came to visit for Christmas and she always loves playing with my makeup. It's also a fact that she loves pink eyeshadow and we get on the topic and she tells me the woman at the Bobbi Brown counter told her to stay away from the pink eye makeup because it brings out her red undertones. SO??? I told her not AF, wear your pink, you love it. Life's too short. I do understand that it's makeup theory and I commend the woman for pointing it out (majority of people at makeup counters in South Africa will match fair skin WAYYY too dark, nevermind undertone comprehension, but still). LET YOUR FREAK FLAG FLY!!!

LOVED THIS! It makes me so so sad watching my fave youtubers when they do these hyper talented looks, but they tune that they'll have to remove it to be able to run their errands because they're too scared to wear it out.

I’m so excited to see more episodes! Glad you brought up the point about wearing makeup that you like. I’ve been told in the past that I should only wear certain colors because that is what looks best for my hair/eye color and other ones won’t do much for me. It wasn’t until I found your content that it helped me not to listen to those things and wear the colors that I want to wear!

As an older millennial, I think I lost myself for years trying to be a "adult" and having an "adult" job. I've come to the conclusion that I shouldn't loose myself for the sake of others and am slowly gaining confidence in wearing the make up that I want to wear. I was so ecstatic when I found your channel a few months ago because your looks is what I aspire someday to wear. I wish we had another alternative make up brand like KVD (when it was under Kat Von D). She brought a lot of innovative products to the market where there wasn't at the time. While I appreciate other indie brands, I've yet to find one that fits into that aesthetic that KVD had.

Love every bit of this! I have always went "heavy" with my eye makeup partly because I think my eyes are my best facial feature and also because I LOVE EYESHADOW AND LINER. I always tell my friends "If I am gonna take the time to so this, EVERYBODY is gonna see it!" I am so happy I started wearing makeup again, on the daily not just for a reason/occasion, and discovered you. You connect with my cold, black heart and I adore you and your content. I think the makeup on her nose and the black and brown tones she uses makes her look like a cute deer. The eye makeup is great. Alt girl animal makeup is cool but at the same time I just keep thinking of Barf from the movie Spaceballs every time I see it.
