My Heart Attack Survivor video
Here's an intro video done by the wonderful folks at Guidant (now, Abbott) for their annual Customer Awareness Day each year, where they invite 3 or 4 people who have benefitted from their products to share their story with the company's 4-5,000 employes.
I was taken to Riverside Community Hospital on May 29, 2003, where lots and lots of wonderful people took very good care of me for 5 days. My thanks to evryone at Guidant, 911 operators, EMT's, ER doctors & nurses, pharmacists, LLUMC Heart Institute, and everyone else who helps to make the system work. I wouldn't be here without you.

Now my local Walmart has added more self check out lanes and they only have like 6-8 lanes for regular check out lanes which doesn't bother me. Some elderly cashiers are so slow it's not even funny.
This has been my wife's ringtone for over 3 years now. Just found out where it came from while watching an hour long Early-Late 2000's tv commerical compilation video.

Self checkout is usually much easier and faster because 1. There is usually little to no line and 2. You scan it faster than the person cashing you out.

opening more lanes my ass, the most ive seen is 7 cashiers out of 25 registers.
Probably because they can't keep a good worker if their lives depended on it. I worked there through college, I will never step foot in there again.
Well when you schedule every cashier and only 7 show up what do you expect? That's why Walmart created the Key Dates for the holidays. This way it counts as two call ins for everyone who calls in on the holidays. That way we can have every register open. I worked the frontend for 15 year, and I have now gone to overnight mod team. I will never go back to the frontend. The customers treat you like trash and makes you not want to show up for work!! That's why most cashiers call in all the time!! If customers would treat the cashiers better maybe Walmart could keep more cashiers up at the front!!!

My local Wal-Mart has 31,but the most I have seen open was 14 or 15.
