    I think Gohar is good despite her forehand technique. She supinates her underarm too much and too late, and her shoulder gets activated too late in the swing.

    Excellent video. One other thing I noticed around 2:30 is that the students back is leaning towards the back wall as apposed to the front wall as he strikes the ball causing him to move towards the back wall after the ball has been hit. His momentum is now going backwards instead of forwards preventing him from exiting cleanly toward the T.

    I have to disagree with you on this. His swing is perfect for power. Nice high elbow, and shoulder and underarm nicely rotated inside. Saying that the control is too hard with a big swing is wrong. Look at backhanda. Everyone is kipping with huge swings.

    I have had issues in games where I have placed myself on the recommended slightly left of centre T position to hunt the volley etc and my opponent has said they could not potentially hit a shot to the opposite front corner so I should not be standing that far over.

    • @njhajj
      @njhajj 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on your opponent's options. If you hit a tight drive, they will have straight and boast options (hence the cheating over won't result in stroke). Hit it too loose and cheat over and it may be a stroke. Watch the pros - they hit tight balls and then cheat over all the time.

      I was looking for it also about 6 months ago and I think I found it only to discover it had been discontinued (so I don't recall its name). There's also an open source app that can do the same called Kinovea, but it doesn't support audio playback (hearing sounds may actually help!). So what I end up doing when analyzing squash recordings is just using VLC player either setting a low speed playback mode or clicking through the video frame-by-frame. Hope that helps!

    Regarding the grip of sitting too deep in the palm…I have the same problem…and I think what most of us think is that we loose power and stability in the racquet and the index finger is simply too weak to control the racquet face upon impact….you reviewed me as well. Could you elaborate how to ensure the index finger and the rest of the fingers don’t make the racquet wobble upon impact? Thank you in advance.

    Another major difference is how your right leg moves toward your left leg as you swing so you bear down on the ball and sink down into your shot. Your student does not do this as well as you do so he is more upright and cannot transfer as much energy into the racket and ball. This "sliding knee" action is rarely taught but used almost universally by top rated players
