Geez, John Coleman, Captain Mike, Michael Tuck, Larry Himmel, Loren Nancarrow, and more that I remember from the 1980s news and weather in San Diego are gone. They were such constants in my life. “And the BREEEEEZZZEEE!!!” 😂 RIP, Mr Coleman. Thank you for the information and the laughs.

He is graciously missed I got the chance to meet him when I was very young and he was very nice

Nothing against flying crank ghosts or the people who install them but I always love watching them as they float along serenely and then make a violently aggressive aboutface at the support pulley. 🤣😂

This type of neglect SHOULD NOT have happened in the first place. Respect our history!

Coleman was "certifiably nuts" in a very nice kinda way!. When he was on WLS-Chicago, he once joked about "women who tried to molest him on the "L"". Only Coleman could pull off something like that on a live news/weather broadcast and get tons of laughs afterwards!

Growing up in Diego, lots of us would get all stoned as youngsters and absolutely laugh our butts off watching this SD icon. Right before watching essence of Emeril and trying to make glossy eyed gourmet Ramen. To be young in SD was 1 in a million. Rip good sir!

I loved John Coleman; teamed with Fahey Flynn, Joel Daly, and Bill Frink on WLS-channel 7 when I was a child growing up in Chicago.... This was when NEWS was actually reported...

When I was younger, I’d go to my uncles house for Halloween and we would decorate it and make a hunted house and maze in it and invite neighbors around.. we were always the 1 house to be extra lol and have Halloween spirit

John Coleman..was a weather icon! My mentor, John Malan was his assistant, before coming to Milwaukee and becoming a broadcasting legend there. Coleman founded the Weather Channel...then moved out to San Diego...he will be missed!

I miss that road. I used to drive it every weekend for 10 years.

I watched John Coleman The WHOLE Time while I lived in San Diego for 13 years. Not only was he incredibly entertaining but he was a super weather man as well. He is one of the few weather men that I've seen in my 70 years who would make note of any inaccuraacy in his forecast of the previous day and explain to you why it was inaccurate. He was a VERY Honest and Straight Forward person, in spite of his comedic facade. I just learned of his death today. I never even knew that he started the Weather Channel or any of his other meteorological accomplishments. I just remember him as that John, the funny weather man, whose air time felt as comfortable to me as a worn in pair of shoes. RIP John !!!! ... jkulik919@gmail.com

I just heard about this. I remember Mr. Coleman from WLS when i was a kid in their broadcasting range and singing about the antennae being put up on the Sears Tower to the song I Can See Clearly Now but with the words "you can see clearly now, the snow is gone". As an adult in San Diego i was able to watch him on KUUUUUSI (as he said it) and actually looked forward to his weather reports. A thoroughly entertaining as well as smart man.
