Complete bullshit incident. 1 one inch diameter twig punches a perfectly (well almost) 3 inch hole, conveniently the same size as a vent stack. Plus this ding dong thinks the trusses are 16 on center? One and done viewer.
That branch didn't do that much damage that's where a pipe was looks like I should know I was a roofer for 40 years!!
why are the new shingles a different color?
I can't find that sealant/glue at Home Depot. The sell Quad brand caulk but the description says it's for trim & siding.
What would be a ball park cost to fix something like this? Including materials. I just don't want to get overcharged by a contractor.
I got a huge branch piercing through mine today. Looks like it's around $700-$800 in the Midwest. How much did you end up paying?
I see the assistant is wearing steel toe Pakistani work shoes. The steel toes are the more durable replacement ones that are put in after you lose the originals.
Aren't you supposed to use pipe dope or gas-rated teflon tape on the union joint?
Stained your under ware at 30:06 🤣 Otherwise good job!!
Alguno de la raza que le de una mano 😂
Cowboy 😂
This was a plumbing vent at one time, easily see the where the boot shield was. Nice try to make us believe a branch did this hole. LOL Still a good repair.
I watched for the technique, not caring how the branch got there.
I had a tree pop a hole in my roof last week. I was able to repair it myself. 110$ in material.
Stick to roofing! Coming from a masonry restoration professional
looks like someone cut that hole out and stuck a limb in there, probably tried to get a free roof and got denied. thanks for the knowledge though
You are in need of a bucket to put nails and shingles into .
Get a metal roof, no repairs, no leaks, fire poof. Good for 100 years.
False.
On a hole like that could you just install a turtle vent if the house has none?
I am not sure, can you restart sir. 😮
I am headed to my sisters house to help her with her roof repair. I appreciate the detail of your video as well as the camera man's work!
Why would you even want a mortar cap ?
Yikes, Flip Flops!!!
Thanks so much for the great information! Will try this out tomorrow. 😊
What brand/type of sealant do you use for the nail heads?
There was nothing wrong with the old thermostat control. You do not understand how a thermostat works. It shut off when you set the temperature high because you set it to turn on at a higher temperature than ambient... therefore the fan would stay of until the temperature raised higher than the max setting.
ritery
First off none of you know anything about insurnace. Second you can clearly see that the tree branch was placed in the roof. You can see where there used to be a pipe jack there. Y’all are funny.
So true!!! a branch would never make a perfect circle hole 🕳️ in the plywood
yep, first thing I saw was there was a vent there...amazing that branch landed exactly in the vent hole...
To be fair, a limb can go straight down in.
@ to be fair, there’s a ZERO chance you’re defending this.
Wow, you are like next level sir. Thank you for the detailed presentation.
Is there a way to replace just the fan motor without removing the entire assembly? I noticed that the new fan had bolts on the cap.
Nice job! Nice video. I hope you wear sunscreen.
Thank you
I used an O’Hagin attic vent in a similar situation…
kid flip flops on a roof plus farting no thanks
Not to mention he shoved that branch into the hole. You can see that he’s clearly covering an old pipejack. This guys a joke.
Lesson if your not Mr. Rogers don't expect a positive result.
This is one of those I want to know the follow-up for... I need to know what happened.
This happened to me. They stole my truck with all my tools in it and my camera, so not only did I lose my apartment because I no longer had the availability to work because all my tools were gone, I also lost my first ever camera with all the memory cards and photos of some of me and my father's last memories together. I ended up losing my apartment and things all around just got really bad for me after that :(
I know you might not see this but i hope it all goes well for you from this point beyond
@@bug_under don't give up man.
So sorry that you had to suffer the loss of your photos & tools. My last years with my Dad were hard, funny, tension filled, but the memories were great. He was one of The Greatest Generation. God bless you well.
It’s time to go John wick mode
Don’t keep important stuff in trucks and outside
Some people are so vile man, I just don’t understand.
I hope you find your closure
If it means something to you. Put somewhere safe while you can 👍
He had it with him everyday. Work is what a man must do to provide in this world and he had his best friend with him every mile of the way.
As if everyone has that foresight 24/7. Unrealistic and harsh for no reason? 👍🏻
@@redcherry8137 I'm just reminding everyone to store they're things safely. Because of the video..
You ain’t getting those photos back sorry bud
Just gotta screw over someone for that fix. Why not go steal from someo e whos filthy rich? Not another person struggling or has to work every day to get by. People just suck.
Not about what he took not about the money it’s about the dog picture he lost. He can’t get that back.
Rich people can afford better security. So unfortunately the poor most often will steal from the poor because it is easier to get away with
@@chicagosideshows5556 right like what an insane comment as if the emotional loss would've been totally fine if the guy was in a higher tax bracket...
@@talking2ghosts_archive I don't believe OP is trying to justify stealing. I believe he's commenting on the fact that if you're going to rob someone, it would be more "morally" correct to rob someone with more wealth than someone trying to make an honest living. Put it this way: Not accounting for emotional loss(of which there is a high likelihood), it would probably affect a blue collar worker to steal his truck(and means of working) more than taking the truck of a wealthy individual(wealthy enough in the context that a stolen truck would not be the hugest financial burden). Again, this is not to discount the emotional loss from losing important sentimental items the individual may have had in their vehicle. However, I believe most people would agree that a robbery against a rich individual would have a less drastic effect than taking the backbone of someone's business. I hope you have a wonderful, day/night/whatever time it is for you and that you enjoy the rest of your days. Peace ✌ Edit: Again, this is all in the context of a financial ️burden, and not an emotional. Rich or poor, it would still fucking suck to be robbed of your sentimental assets.
or why just don’t you not steal from anyone rich or not rich? lmao weird ass
John wick entered the room
Id go give everything back and ask him to forgive me, or jail me. His choice.
Yea well obviously you wouldn’t steal it in the first place cause thats not how a crook thinks
@@DanTheRooferJust dropping addresses? Oh a courthouse? Things are really heating up
You seem to be mostly self taught. Kudos for that. If youre a homeowner watching this, please hire a professional
Where is it not leaking
It was coming from the flashing.
I saw all those leaks before you said anything about winning 28 thousand dollars. Didn't even give a mufucka a chance to point them out yo.
They are lucky to have a great roofer like you around, you got their before the leaves even wilted.
If this ever happens to your home. Get a full replacement through insurance. There’s no way this should ever be repaired!
You have no idea what you’re talking about. This is a legitimate repair. It is no different than originally roofing.
that's like saying if you get a flat tire, you should replace all your suspension 🥴
We get it. Most people are just like you. They have no idea what they are doing and often times make unnecessary repairs. We understand policy and know everything about insurnace. I am getting this entire roof replaced for the same price as a repair 100% of the time. You can keep repairing roofs why we are out here replacing them.
Have you seen the rest of the roof? It looks in great condition. Saying it needs replacement and just use the insurance means you have no idea what you’re talking about. Have you read an insurance policy lately for houses? They essentially do not cover roofs anymore. You’re far better off just replacing it yourself versus going through insurance. A lot of that was due to the scams down in Florida. It is similar to getting a nail in your tire. Does the shop replace it or patch it? They patch it if it’s still in good condition and in the right spot. Get a life and get more knowledgeable.
Legitimate repair👍 It appears someone benefits from the insurance company.
