Just for fun! Our Alpaca male, Benito, came across a mouse in the barn. He is usually a bit agitated with other alpacas or critters in his space, but tonight he just surprised me with his curious nature with this friendly mouse. Single Crochet Edge On Loom Pins - Continuous Strand Weaving

There are multiple ways to edge your continuous strand weaving. Some are completed after you remove it from the loom, some can be before the removal process. This Single Crochet (SC) edge uses the nail loops, and this edge can be left as is, or used as a foundation to build stitches on after you remove your project from the loom. I hope it helps some of you! Please subscribe and like. I appreci...

    Just before you beat the loop strands to become part of the woven cloth, you’ve got the just woven loop in an arc. That’s just what you need for it not to get too tight. On a flat conventional loom you need this too, you lay your weft in an arc, or even set at an angle, about 22 degrees from the horizontal. Called the weavers angle. This spare yarn gets taken up when you beat it down in all the little understand and overs. It takes extra yarn and you have to learn to provide that extra so your work doesn’t draw in, and would get narrower.

Continuous weave on the rectangle loom can be a very very frustrating endeavor but your detailed directions (yes I had to watch a few times and take out two separate starts to get it right) helped me tremendously. Madonnarairigh2350, I'm so glad you watched all the way through, but sorry I didn't sit on it at the end. I was going to add that in, but changed my mind! It did hold very well. I wonder if these diagonal weaving techniques can work on peg looms too?

    • @thePacadashery
      @thePacadashery 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello tomekaridley6371, yes, you could try this on a peg loom that is square, you need to weave diagonal corner to corner. The number of pins must be exact on every side. If the loom is rectangle you need to count the short side of pins, then the long side needs to be double or triple (etc) of the short side. Experiment and see what you come up with. Have fun with it! Thank you for watching, and your comment.

    This is pretty cool. You can also punch tiny hole through it and add grommets and then screw through the tiny little grommets was not to get a bunch of pressure on the actual fabric. I remember these chairs from the 70s😅 I was researching on doing the same exact thing to a swing chair that I haven’t purchased yet! Lol😅 Going to purchase a swing chair, but I’m going over every inch of the frame and researching to find out which ones the sturdiest if the fabric wears out what alternative can I use for the frame etc. I’m thinking about one of the polls. What could I do?😅 Take gas, piper water pipe with the right elbows and angles you could make your own swing chair frame! Also, you can buy just the swing chair frames similar to what you have and then you buy whatever wing you want whether it’s chains or rope, etc. then you can have a wooden one one like your building a metal one or old-fashioned one from the 70s there’s so many different Ways that you can DIY a project once you have the basic concept. I’m looking for one to put on my 14 x 16 A frame covered deck , my deck is like a huge oversized gazebo! But it’s attached to my home 👍 great video although this was many years ago it still helped in 2024🙌

    • @thePacadashery
      @thePacadashery 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks @linden5576! You have a creative and inquisitive mind! Putting grommets on may not be necessary, if you push the threads of webbing aside, and not break them, the screws and nuts with washers hold very well. The most important thing is to buy the best webbing possible. Heavy duty fabric strapping may work, but might stretch out over time. The cheaper stuff I bought rotted out in 2 years. I do plan to make an update video, hopefully soon. Please watch for that. Enjoy your project!

      Thank you @carmencolman2199 for watching and the comment. I used about 150-200 yards, but it was hard to know with various packages. Just make sure you get the heavy duty polypropylene type, not one that says "plastic" and feels thin. I found the thinner one rotted out after a couple seasons. The screws held up great! Have fun!

      Hi acciotardisalohomora63! Thank you for the compliments! The pattern I was trying to make is Harringbone. I'm not sure that very many rectangle weavers use this, so I was trying it out, learning as I went. It's basically 2 lines color A, then 2 lines color B. Then weave over 2, under 2. It comes out interesting. I did not make a video for making this one. Maybe I will soon! I appreciate you watching!

    The blanket stitch on the edges was very thin. Thus, when using the 4 weight made it pucker somewhat. This could have been alleviated by using a thinner 3 weight yarn.

    What do you do when your blankets are not even all the way around?

    • @thePacadashery
      @thePacadashery 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello jackiecook2146. Do you mean if the stitch count isn't exactly the same? I actually don't count them or really worry about it. If I lay the blanket down and fold it in half, and see stitches are close to the same on each side, I'm ok with that. If one side has too many stitches, and it ripples, I would pull out some and space them a bit farther apart. The key is to watch the distance between the first round of stiches, and keep them as even as possible. Now, if the fabric is not even to start with, then I would find a way to even it out, like trimming them even. But if there is a sewn edge already on them, I would not recommend doing that. You should just find 2 other blankets that are very close to same size. If there is a slight difference, like an inch, it may ease itself into looking even when you crochet the edge on it. Does that make sense?

      Hi wanlove123! I think you are asking if I would do a SC border first, before starting the moss stitch. Yes, I would recommend the first round to be a SC, then start your moss stitch (or other pattern). I find it gives more stability to the blanket edge. You could just start right at the edge with your pattern, without a foundation row, if you are running low on yarn, or time, but I almost always like a solid row to work off of. You choose what's best for you! Thank you for watching, and the question!

    Love the border on your scarf, but we don't see how the last stich is finished. I'm guessing it's just a little knot at the end/start of it, is that right?

      Hi Elaine-yk5uh. I usually tie it off, cut about 5 inches and weave it in. Just hide it well. If you weave back and forth with the end 3 times, it won't come out. Thank you!

    🤍🤚😊💗 Hi the Pacadashery , Thank You for sharing a Beautiful Project. It turned out really Nice. I think maybe I would call It an easy enclosure Astor Lady woven Squarve. I remember My Mom having something similiar to that but not as a squarve , rectangle shape , more like a knitted Neck Bib . A Warmer that went to the top of the Persons Chest and covered some of the Neck , no sleeves. Basically 2 panels on either side with some Neck protection for extra Winter wear 🤍

    Thank you for posting this. I have been trying many other ways and this looks like the most promising. How did this hold up after a year?

      Thank you for your comment user-km2ig2ju5j! The way I attached the webbing has held up, the stainless hardware did not rust, but some of the newer webbing rotted! Watch for an updated video, I should put out soon. I suggest using the best webbing you can get, or maybe nylon straps. Have fun with it!

      Polyester webbing is much better than nylon or polypropylene.

    What happens to the webbing when 2 adults sit on it? Does it work or does the screws rip out of the webbing? Did it last a season with people sitting on it? No whare can I find the result when people sit on it to use it, tho nice idea to fix - but did it work as intended?

      @thePacadashery ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi JamesJer Clare! Thank you for watching, and your questions. Yes, it did work wonderfully, just as intended. 2 people could sit on it just fine. No, it did not rip out at the screws. BUT, after 2 seasons out in harsh elements, the cheaper webbing started to rot. And so it ripped again, but not on the screw holes. I am planning to post a video showing what happened. Thank you for reminding me. The screws held completely, but the web they make now days is a plastic that can't last. The older web that was polyurethane is still fine. Use quality, it will survive. Hope this answers your questions!

      Boyet, are you asking what kind of nut I used? It is a stainless steel nylon insert lock nut, but you can use any kind you like. Thank you for watching!
