It was only a matter of time...
The addition of vocals across artists within the "instrumental guitar" sphere is becoming increasingly prominent. Artists are adopting vocals to both create more musical relatability as well as expand audience size.

Guessing Instrument Sounds Shouldn't be this HARD!
Been a fan since 2010 havent looked back.they changed my life not only as a person but as a musician.great video.and very appreciative and salute you for recognizing/bringing attention to Javier because he very much deserves the attention(MESTIS)(T.R.A.M.)i must say though,Javier has always been a metalhead before animals.even being a lead vocalist screaming back in the day😅...tosin is the best as so is the band.love this band.cant wait to see the future of these guys.stay heavy🤘🏽🤘🏽
On one hand it's great to see such creativity and quality....on the other it's sad AF to see such a completely lack of Rock N' Roll spirit in most of these, and such a sanitized approach.
Nice and smooth!💜
Super cool . Deserves more views
groooovy
Very aladeen
POLYPHIA DOESN'T NEED A VOCALIST! THAT WOULD TAKE AWAY FROM THEIR MUSIC! NONE OF THE CURRENT POPULAR STULES AND SUBJECT MATTER SUCK ASS! VOCALS WOULD BE BAD, BAD, BAD! POLYPHIAS MUSIC STANDS ON IT'S OWN MERIT. THEY DO NOT NEED TO FIT IN ANYWHERE. THEY ARE THEIR OWN THING. THEY ARE POLYPHIA!
I think you need to wipe Tim’s shit of the end of your nose
Seems like MGF and Zytecki knew this since the beginning ;) I'm not a fan of vocals in instrumental artists' songs but I understand the trend. If you want to reach the mainstream, you have no other way. Personally, I think that Polyphia or Marcin are way more pleasant to listen without the vocals.
I love reaction channels that don’t constantly stop to say DA sht. Awesome video. And you got a great radio voice. Totally subscribed, you killing it.
What the players can do is unreal now, but it sounds the SAME. "Look at me....look what im doing" lol
Modern guitar all sounds similar. Its more about look at me look what i can do, but it sounds shite. Tim Hensons songs sound all the same. You could splice all heir songs together and you would never know when a new song started or ended. It would be one long as song.
You self reacted to yourself? Wtf dude.. lol. I don't know how you're trying to become something.. but this deserved a downvote. Don't "half ass & fake" anything.. what? You are not close to being the Dooo. Having a talent doesn't entitle you to ridicule and diminish what others do by doing shortcuts. But from having seen other stuff from you, you are one of those entitled ones who thinks they're "the shit" right? Haha.. sure guy.
When I was younger (17-23) I championed technical playing and wanted to see the bar get pushed. Even if it was at the expense of musicality. Tosin would have fit that well. It's been over 10 years now, and I've drifted more towards technical music that still prioritizes musicality. I get why Tosin fans dig his music, but I'm with the camp that sees it more as music gymnastics. It's more about technical playing and concepts, and it just falls very flat for me. Even the song structures feel slapped together. People like Thomas Erak write technical out there tracks with almost no theory and they sound highly musical still. Tosin is the flip. All of the theory but with little to no musicality.
Prodigies like Steve Vai have been doing this for over a decade. He's been using vocals on his albums for a very long time.
Holy shit, a video about modern guitar that doesn’t just shit on it and pander to old people??? Am I dreaming??
Give Mk.gee a listen bro
It’s always nice to have options. It would be pretty hard to make something of equal or more value without new elements, or experimentation.
I love what you're playing in the modern guitar. I've been following 15 yr old guitar player Taj Farrant who plays in the genre of blues/rock but love the new techniques he's added. The new era of upcoming guitar players is fantastic.
I feel like you'd love Mestis

I’m a pastor for the church of polyphia and I approve this message!

Manuel Gardner Fernandes 🙏
Bro called Fripp non-virtuosic when he watched him warmup lmao. Listen to some Discipline-era King Crimson and you’ll have an idea
Great video. I love instrumental guitar music, but you’re right, it is a niche appeal.
Jakub Zytecki! Awesome artist!
Well made videos! New fan here
I really enjoyed! Awesome video!
It will be beneficial. It's cool to see a similar cycle repeat with modern music. It's the same move that some early progressive rock and jazz fusion groups made. It's also common for those that play very complicated music to take all they have learned and simplify a bit. A ton of groups historically have done that. It's every bit as difficult to write a great song that has complexity but also gains mass appeal. As it is to write a complex piece that has no mainstream appeal. In fact I'd argue the first example is more difficult.
a great example is polyphia and how they had sophia black sing in ABC. That whole EP had alot of lyrics while they played. Which I personally liked
As a huge polyphia fan, the vocals on RTYWD seem a bit forced for me. Feels like they compensated on their craft to get some popping rappers to fit in. Either way its a great way to experiment and i hope they find a way to implement it going forward
@@vikso89 after listening to it with what you said in mind, i get it.
@@vikso89 i think the way they implemented the vocals on each song is what gives you that feeling probably. for example, abc makes a lot of sense, but f-around and find out seem "lazier" in a way/doesn't seem to blend everything as well. as you said that's what they'll have to work on moving forwards, making sure the vocals bring something to the table and aren't just to get a collab out
The brain dance was a statement man. He told us who he was with that song
Where is John Mayer?? In a class of his own...
Dude thank you so much for doing this interview, hearing about Ando San creative process and having him talk of his work in depth this way is really inspiring. You guys were just having a casual conversation like good friends and it felt natural and organic. That made it highly enjoyable to me.
@davidmaycry5218 Greatly appreciate that, so glad you found value in the format! :D
Love it!!💜
Uhhh… anyways here’s wonderwall
Tewday wuz gonna bee the day
Nice!💜
Love it
Being a guitarist for over forty years it is amazing where guitar players are developing, having Hendrix be my inspiration I love and feel inspiration from the new guitar player and think there is a future for it, this music reminds me of Return to forever and the great musicians of that band. I look forward to hearing what is next.
Fire take
Let me correct you straight away: putting the words "Tosin" and "music" in one sentence is morally wrong. And that's that.
I hear ya but showing BB king while talking about bluegrass and off time signatures is just incorrect.
I love ❤️ it!
❤❤❤❤
You could not have paused it at a worse moment during the second one. Right in the middle of him completely spazzing. And you didn’t take it back 5 seconds. Literally missed the best part of the whole episode. Great reaction otherwise.
Hell yeah
my only complain about what new is , no more people use the real sound of a guitar, it is to much effects like shine reverb at 75% and delay whatever..., for me new guitarists try to sound like a fucking keyboard, play keyboard if you don't like the sound of a guitar.
I that yo heath from twd
Very nice video! Learned a lot about this artist. Very interesting!😊
What's the song bro ?
