സ്വീറ്റ് പൊട്ടറ്റോ ചപ്പാത്തി | Sweet Potato Chappathi | Healthy-Dish | Easy-to-prepare
Sweet potatoes are sweet, starchy root vegetables having many health benefits. Sweet potatoes are just as sweet as the name suggests. It is rich in fiber, very helpful in weight loss (low calorie content). Sweet potatoes can help people with obesity, cholesterol and high blood pressure to control them. Vitamin C is a major nutrient in sweet potatoes. Although similar in name, sweet potatoes are not related to the potato family and are quite different in terms of nutrition. It is a very good food for diabetics.
In this video we are preparing chappathi including sweet potato along with some more ingredients to yield the health benefits of sweet potato. Other than adding these extra ingredients, there is no difference in preparing the chappathi against the normal chappathis you make. Still this can be prepared easily in short time!
You can include sweet potatoes four times (even as a meal itself) in a week. Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamin B6 too, which can help the heart-health. Also good for bones and teeth. The beta-carotene and antioxidants present in sweet potatoes helps the health of hair and your skin. The iron in them helps in boosting immunity.
Serve: 10 to 12 Chappathis
--------- INGREDIENTS --------
1. Sweet Potato (മധുരക്കിഴങ്ങ്): 2 Nos. (small size) [Pink / White]
2. Chilly Powder (മുളകു പൊടി): ½ Teaspoon
3. Cumin Powder (ജീരകപ്പൊടി) : ½ Teaspoon
4. Chaat Masala (ചാട്ട് മസാല) : ½ Teaspoon
5. Salt (ഉപ്പ്): ¼ to ½ Teaspoon
6. Fenugreek leaves (കസൂരി മേത്തി): 1 Teaspoon
7. Ragi Powder (റാഗി പൊടി): ¾ Cup (മുക്കാൽ കപ്പ്) [175 Gm.]
8. Whole Wheat flour (ഗോതമ്പ് പൊടി): ¾ Cup (മുക്കാൽ കപ്പ്) [175 Gm.]
9. Coriander leaves (മല്ലിയില): A handful / 5 to 6 sprigs
(ഒരു പിടി / അഞ്ചോ ആറോ തണ്ട്)
10. Water (വെള്ളം): 125 ml.
Optional:
11. Ghee / Butter (നെയ്യ് / വെണ്ണ): As you required (to soften chappathi)
Tips/Notes:
# Coriander leaves is a major ingredient, and we need to chop into very small pieces.
# Prepare the dough: Put all the ingredients into a large bowl and add water little by little. Then mix it well as you usually prepare the dough for your regular chappathis.
# You can use idli steamer to steam the sweet potatoes. Keep high flame till the steam start to appear. Then cook it for 10 more minutes in Medium flame.
# Better to serve as hot. You can use any your favorite curry as side dish. Or can simply go with Ghee or Butter or pickles.
# Once the pan gets heated well in high flame, then keep low or medium flame, not to get the chappathis burnt.
