So thankful for this experience that KWBJ has given me. It is so hard for me to be open about my “struggles” because so much of my life has been effected. I tend to close that part out of me when being in public and on social media, but mental health, financial struggles, losing family is hard. I did a pageant this year i was real sad i didn't win but then its really fun more than winning its a great thing ladies so lets do it again and have fun enjoy!

@@mikaeli7466 Hi! You will need your formal wear gown, your interview outfit, and a pair of jean shorts (will receive a tee at check in). Of course you will need to bring outfits for rehearsals and if you are doing any optionals. Best of luck!!

you did so amazing !! i've been keeping up with your pageant vlogs and tips cause i am a state finalist for Pennsylvania and it makes me really nervous lol but for makeup and hair do you have to bring your own makeup artist to do your hair and makeup touch-ups there ?
@@nina.biella thank you so much! I found mine through facebook. She was already going to my state pageant then booked with her. You also do not necessarily need one. I’ve been doing NAM for 4 years and usually do my own. Best of luck!

What are your tips for winning?❤ and what sorta prize did you get?
Each state ranges depending on your director. It sounds so cliché but never give up! It took my three years and lots of hard work to win in the Teen Division. Stick with it and don’t compare yourself to others; rather focus on your own growth. Most importantly, BE YOURSELF!

Im planning on doing the pageant next year. I don't understand the application process, can you explain?
Every year they will open up the applications on the NAM website. From there, you will get a call or email saying your in. You can also check through social medias if they have open calls in your state. This is where you go and they select you there!

Brenna! You have represented Louisiana so well for the past year! Never sell yourself short, you had such strong performances. Coming from a state queen who once upon a time wasn’t coached or styled professionally, I know exactly how you feel, but never sell yourself short because of what you’re lacking! Your competitions were so good and you have so many unique things to offer to a title because of all you’ve done to prepare yourself for pageants all on your own, it shows so many things about who you are and your determination!

You will do amazing! I’ve been involved in pageantry for 16 years and have been hooked ever since. Learning to be true to yourself and knowing you will lose some and you will win some is really my motivation to keep going. Remember to just have fun! At the end of the day, you are only competing against yourself. It even took me three years just to place in top 5 at NAM!
I am competing this year for the miss maryland in the teen division and this has settled some of my nerves and has better prepared me for the pageant weekend ahead thank you

How much do you have to pay overall if you get in? :)
$480 is typically the sponsorship fee but on top of that you pay for your wardrobe, hotel, etc. Optionals are a different price. It can get quite pricy but ask local businesses to sponsor you!
