Inspiring! What do you use for a PSU? I've used a lead acid car starter battery rated 17Ah from Halfords for my occasional portable operations. Gives me a couple of hours, but more if I turn down the hf output. I'm curious to know more about your idea and whether I might get a signal boost from spreading a layer of salt on wet ground underneath my dipole!

For anyone listening to this (these) recordings thinking...... how can that sack trolley station do it - then if you live not too far from the sea consider a portable station . Whether built on a sack trolley or some other portable structure then have a go and make one. David G4AKC and myself have successfully built super DX stations that can match and often beat the 'super guns' on HF.....if you're not sure how to do it - then contact either one of us for advice ....ken EA5/G4VZV

After a number of calls I managed to make a contact with a station located towards the East Coast.

Hi Ken. I've got you booming out on my old TS-430S right now (16.10; 23 Jan), really bending the S meter! I'm very impressed with what you've done! Are you sure it's the effect of the salt water, and not that big old crash barrier at the side of the road!?
