We like to show people the world, and let you see what it is like traveling the world with two toddlers! So subscribe to follow along!
We are Matt, Meghan, Rya, Heidi, and Christy, and we are creating this channel to share our adventures of traveling and living abroad for one year! We rented out our house, sold our vehicles, and took off to live abroad for an entire year. We are starting in SE Asia and seeing where the road takes us from there.
In March of 2021 we had a fire destroy our home in the middle of the night, leaving us frazzled, stressed, and without a place to call home. But we knew our home is where our hearts were, and where we were together we were home. God has been very good to our family, keeping us safe and us both having successful careers, and that is allowing us to travel in the US and abroad. Follow along as and enjoy our adventures with us!

We are The Traveling Texans- Matt and Meghan, our kids Ryan and Heidi, and my cousin Christy! We live in New Braunfels, TX and are creating content sharing our adventures of living abroad for one year. We had a house fire in 2021 that destroyed everything we own, but did not destroy our home. What I mean by that is our home is where we are together, not our house.
This trip will afford us the time together we do not always get due to work, daycare, and hectic evenings and weekends. It will allow us to slow down and enjoy being together, being with our kids during these formative and fun years.
I am a realtor in New Braunfels and have my TH-cam Channel, Living in New Braunfels TX (bit.ly/3cVNBMV), which I will maintain and manage my team remotely. So it will not ALL be fun and games.

How much
Did you have any issues with food posion 😊
NOOOOOOOOO. Toilet paper first, bidet second, toilet paper again (but less) third. Don't poop all over the bidet please 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Asian toilet system is best in my opinion.
can go there and rent a taxi from the airport? do you have any taxi company name?
NO PHONES IN THE POOP AREA PLEASE! Phones are filthy enough. Do you sanitize it after?
It doesn’t shoot poo all over your testes and ween, or a woman’s vaj… seems like its aimed that way.
We used WayB Pico car seat. Found out- the safest car for baby is Toyota Alphard. In bkk- a day rent with a driver and fuel inclusive was $250 USD. The same in Malaysia, Bali was cheaper. TOYOTA ALPHARD is our fav. But wish I could bring my F250 😂
Yeah I wish I could’ve brought my Silverado Texas Edition! We sold our vehicles before leaving, and I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat
TP FIRST TP FIRST TP FIRST Your poo will clog the bidet's drain if you dont wipe first. 😅
that scene with your wife in the seatbelt with the baby was scary, if there was an accident her weight would push the baby's waist into the seatbelt, if it was bad she would snap her in half, not here to be negative, just not sure you were aware of that. Great Video though, very helpful, My family will be there soon and we have one child that is 1 year old
I’m actually in India rn I had to fly from us to Qatar then to Amritsar I had a 12 hour layover in Qatar so I booked the same one as you in sleepin fly
Would love some custom made basketball shoes
😂😂😂
Wait... so you're supposed to get up with a caked up dootie booty and transition? You dont at least wipe first?
What a great video, thanks, it was lovely to see the fab neighbourhood you stayed in. We're hoping to go in Feb 2025 so your tour was really helpful.
Its still nasi lamak and its still good tho so thats YOUR opinion
You need a better microphone.
I eant to go to an English pub one day and order a delicious beer!
Get a lager and lime, it’s refreshing!
Hey 👋 would love to see a video on flying to Thailand with young kids, mine is 5 and he can handle about 10 hours but I worry about 20 hours+ to BKK. Did you stop somewhere first like Tokyo then next day to Thailand or something else? Any advice would be appreciated thank you 🙏
The resort looks beautiful! I’m planning a trip to visit in January! How’d you get the discount? 👀
I’m pretty close to Nairn, it’s a lovely area. Did you visit anywhere else whilst in Scotland? Glad you liked the haggis, hope you tried it with neeps and tatties too! Yum
We hired a car for a few days and drove to Loch Ness, and to Landmark Forest. We loved Nairn, such great people there. We spent the next month in Glasgow and enjoyed it as well!
I live in Inverness and go to Nairn to wash the car and visit Sainsbury.... Strange how perspectives work
Next time you go pop into Friar Tuck’s and say “howdy” to Chippy Andy for me! It’s on Harbour St off A96
We loved the whole area, wished we had spent more time in Inverness
Are we allowed to smoke.cigarettea inside pubs in england😅
Surprisingly, she acted normal
Actually it’s stomach
Sorry to point this out, but we Italians still use toilet paper to wipe our butt. Then, in addition to that, we wash ourselves on the bidet.
What’s the difference between that and a wet wipe ?
I would like to know any tips on the plane traveling with young kids? What airline did you fly and were you able to bring snacks and what bedding did you use and etc?! Thank you!!
Way, way too much heat. That needs about 20 or so bricketts. About 6 or seven on the bottom and 13-15 on top. The bottom coals should be towards the edge of the pot,try to keep them from getting too close to the middle. Rotate the entire pot about 120° every 10 minutes and rotate the lid the opposite direction on the same schedule. Example, rotate the entire pot clockwise, then turn the lid counter clockwise. Total cook time should be 45-55 minutes. Remember, “if you’re looking, you’re not cooking”. Keep the lid closed so you don’t loose the heat. Other than heat and time management, that should have come out to be really delicious.
i live in nairn near the harbor
That’s great, then we were neighbors for a month! We loved grabbing breakfast at Basil Harbour Cafe, and an occasional supper at Friar Tuck’s. If you pop into Friar Tuck’s please tell Chippy Andy and crew that Texas Matt says hello! We loved Nairn, such a lovely community. Oh and if you know Tommy from Nairn Taxi tell him hello from me too!
Senza bidet? Ma dopo cagato fate sempre la doccia? Non ci credo!!! Invece le nostre parti intime sono sempre pulite, provale!!! Senza bidet = siete sporchi!
Una vita senza bidet, come si vive???
Xin chào 👋
Looks all nice, like it's really possible to do even with kids... But how do you ACTUALLY do it? I've been trying to figure out how to make traveling with kids enjoyable. You can't do crazy or mildly dangerous stuff. Even walking through a busy city could be a challenge when having to watch 2 kids while still trying to actually take in the city. You can't really go vor a walk because kids are bored/exhausted after a mile. You can't go hiking because they're exhausted after half a mile 😆You can't go explore the city at night or go for dinner as a couple because the kids need to be in bed... How do you make it fun?
try the Big C like a walmart supercenter.
ummmmm this is not America????"
That was the best banh mi I ever had
Same! And to still be that crunchy after being delivered blew my mind.
Do women have to take your pants off if using the bidet when facing the wall?
I hope not, my wife would be so angry if women took my pants off!
@@TheTravelingTexans lol
Damn, bro got roasted by his own kids
Savagely!
😂😂😂
Did you guys take car seats? How was that? We are going to be in Astorga for 15 days then Alicante for 15 days with a 5 year old and was wondering what the car seat situation was over there. His current Britax Jump Seat is as big as an f-22 ejection seat and there is no way I am going to be able to cart that around and luggage. Let me know.
We did not take car seats, but we were traveling for a year. In Spain they are required in rental cars and ride shares like Uber. However, we only encountered one Uber driver that required it, and of course it was our very last Uber of our travels. All the others didn’t mind. We did have vests that are NHTSA approved, but we rarely used them. And now they’re hard to find. Amazon has the mifold travel booster in stock. There’s inflatable boosters out there too.
R 'fa 'dog 👍😭❤️❤️

Car seats in Thailand are a 'well to do' item where you get it for the sake of getting it, but it's never used or when used, not used properly - ie. putting rear facing carseat in the front passenger seat or turning the swivle car seats to 45 degree where it is loose to give the adult passenger more shoulder room. We have family in Thailand, and have noticed the lack of or improper use of carseats all the time. We're going to invest in those carseat vests for our older kids as they work with regular seatbelts and allow us to not bring carseats with us - with more than 2 kids, carseats is pretty much a no go for traveling.
We started our year long travel in Thailand in August, kids didn’t sit in a car seat until April when we rented a car in Scotland. The only time they had car seats were in rental cars. And I agree, lugging around 2+ car seats is a no go
Sounds like yalls are having an amazing adventure!
Aint no way bubur is more expensive than nasi lemak
Can we call McD’s real nasi lemak?
