This was so helpful! Thank you! The first language leasons are being used with the Kindergartner? With math with confidence are you doing more than one lesson a day? Are the girls enthusiastic about it? I have a kindergartener next year and am gearing up now and ur videos are helpful.

Everyone’s term is different!!! I love curriculums at the right level and it can be hard to find!!! It’s awesome that ur pre schooler is starting to learn to read!!! We didn’t start the ordinary parents guide to teaching reading at the beginning and I think it’s awesome!!! We use it for review and more advanced teaching!!! My teenagers needed more grammar review so we added it in!!! I find that I get my kids to narrate to my husband or their siblings!!! I love freestyle art with my kids!!! We love MWC!!! We have a poetry afternoon on our island so my teenagers go sometimes!!!

I love Ordinary Parents’ Guide! So good. I’ve used it with two of my three so far. Same author as First Language Lessons. Do you feel like Logic of English is a stronger reading program than OPGTR though?

How's your homeschool year going so far?

I’m looking to use this curriculum for my first grader and kindergartener next year, and you’re right, it’s not widely reviewed. Thank you for putting this together!

We use Handwriting Without Tears, and supplement with their Building Writers books.

I completely agree. My wife read some yesterday and I didn’t like it. I’m glad I’m not alone.

This was great! I was interested in these books but because I couldnt see inside of them on Amazon I wasnt sure if I would get em or not, but I really really like em now that I see inside of them! I look ahead for the week in MWC and I only pull out what we need for that week. I keep it in a pencil box. I also have a metal hanging basket that I keep our most used items like decks of cards

I’m not good at organising our math stuff!!! We have mesh bags for our math stuff!!! Our blocks are in a container tho!!! We have a folder for blackline masters in my kid’s math guidance folder!!! All my kids have their own math guidance folder with different cheat sheets in including MCC blackline masters for the kids who have used MWC!!! I love the game idea!!! We use cm blocks for counters!!!

Have you looked into the A Reason for Handwriting curriculum?

Hi! I don't know if you remember me but my name is Patience. I just found your channel and I'm really enjoying it. You have a lot of helpful ideas. I have a 5 year old son that is very good with numbers and has done the math with confidence kindergarten and is now in the first grade 1. How important is it to have the teachers manual in your opinion ? I don't have it at the moment and wasn't sure if I should get it or not?

Do you have any favorite hacks for organizing your math manipulatives? I'd love to know them!

We use good and beautiful. It has art in it.

What is your favorite handwriting workbook/program?

This is very Heartwarming and very wonderful and very beautiful and very adorable and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).

I rarely have that level of self control!!! I bought from gentle and classical and the well trained mind!!! I got both digitally!!! I bought it a well trained mind mp3!!! I’m going to look into those bilingual books as my teenagers may find them useful!!! We are currently studying the holy land including history with my teenagers!!! I love classics written in a modern way!!! We are classical but not fully!!! We leave mythological stuff till middle to high school!!! My teenagers are learning Alex the great at the moment!!! I told them to read it in their high school years!!!

Did you come away from Black Friday or Cyber Monday with anything for your homeschool?

I made homeschool goals in the summer!!! I love the prayer goal!!! I should do this!!! Teenagers and little kids are 2 hard life stages!!! Homeschool has taught me that education and leading my kids to the lord can go hand in hand!!! We got rid of stuff we had to overplan for our state but we are using them for a different kid especially as there is 2 homeschool families in the same house!!! We love our dumpling grounds and having teenagers they are copying me!!! I have digital piles and got rid of the Greek curriculum I bought a few years ago that didn’t work out!!! My oldest used a different curriculum and I saw why!!!

That's a great idea to review the goals for the year and see how well we've done. I usually just set the goals and work hard to achieve them throughout the year but never really evaluate how I did. Thank you for sharing! 🙌☺️

How have you done with last year's homeschooling goals?

I loved it for my 3yo, but had to modify some of the writing with stickers. It was her favorite thing to do each day

I feel like pre phonics is a timing thing!!! We loved the pre code books!!! We love TGTB letter sounds videos!!! I agree with connecting a letter sound with a word!!! My husband did them with my youngest homeschool kid a couple of years ago!!!

Have your kids watched the Leap Frog Letter Factory? It's a 30 minute video to learn the letter sounds and it's truly MAGIC! My daughter watched it daily for about 2 weeks and had the sounds down! I learned about it from a homeschooling forum. This Homeschool House used it to teach her youngest daughter the letter sounds also!

I didn’t push the writing with my daughter either but one day she wanted to do it and we did.

What is your favorite curriculum for learning letters and letter sounds?

I bought the orange "Homeschool the kids you have" book and didn't like it either.

So glad you loved the storybook Bibles from Lithos Kids. We read so many storybook Bibles when trying to find which one we wanted to recommend for The Curious Kinder.

We are yet to use a bible curriculum for our younger kids!!! They join us for our family curriculum tho!!! They don’t always stay tho as the Bible passages are long!!! We are yet to read those bible books but I got them a while ago!!! I need to read dumbing us down!!! I’m reading 8 great smarts for homeschoolers!!! We love our smart games!!!

Every Christmas we decide where we are celebrating as we are in a global family!!! We listen to the Christmas story every year and if we get to it marina and silent night in German!!! My younger kids struggle with it but are learning it!!! We decorated in November!!! We have Christmas books in our living room for my kids to choose!!! My older kids read the Christmas carol last year and loved it!!! Idk if they are reading a Christmas book but I know they are loving the Christmas picture books and they are teenagers!!!
