Great vid! Superb set, so many accessories!!!
I do like this figure tbh but I think it should have at least had diecast legs like K-2SO. Would have been nice to have that extra weight and quality feel given the price point. Still, it looks good on the shelf. Btw, it’s surprising but the B1 battle droids and the B2 battle droids both measure in at 1.93m (6 ft 4). With Dooku being a towering 6 ft 5 Hot Toys actually got the height and scale bang on! 🤘🏻 Great vid mate 🙌🏻
You are correct, I was wrong. I was always under the impression the Super Battle Droid was much taller, but they weren't. Thanks, Chris.
Interesting about the British uniforms! Great set and very detailed figures and accessories! Great vid mate 🙌🏻
Thank you, my friend! For me, learning about their uniforms has been very interesting. That's not the only time the Germans copied British uniforms - stay tuned for future videos. 😁
I want that one...
He's a great figure. If you collect WWII German figures you won't be disappointed. He's still available, but unfortunately is rather expensive.
@@daniel_sc1024 I know. I collect them. Maybe one day I have this one.
Hello. Not a sergeant or NCO, but an Obergefreiter (Airman first class) or Lance corporal. Very nice figure and nice video but long ;)
An obergefreiter would have the double Vee insignia on his left arm and plain collars and shoulder straps. The silver lace edging his collar and shoulder straps indicate an unteroffiziere; the single pip on the shoulder strap indicates a feldwebel, which was the equivalent of a technical sergeant in U.S. forces or a flight sergeant in UK forces. Where I went wrong was not having the collar patches touching the silver lace on two sides, since a gefreiter's collar patch looks the same minus the silver lace. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
@@daniel_sc1024 I maintain that it is an Obergefreiter. The 3 eagles on the yellow tabs reveal this. But then what matters? Nice video, nice figure.
Another nice video. Axel, the paratrooper and the only figure that includes the 20th anniversary Did catalog and interesting opening of the box. I really like the Fallschirmjäger, as well as the Luftwaffe, mainly because of their uniforms, which I really like (those Africa and Crete ribbons look great, as do the visor cap). And of course the FG 42 must not be missing. Super :)
Thank you. Always nice to get your comments. I have another, older falschirmjager figure still to review, which I hope you will find interesting. I ended up buying DiD's more comprehensive 20th anniversary catalog, which has everything they've made to date.
Hi Daniel, nice to see you again, very nice review. Unfortunately, I only saw the movie Das Boot once, but I still remember some bits and pieces. Like how the soldiers peed on the officer's car :D or how they sang the English song Its a long way to tipperary. Although I'm not exactly an expert on the Kriegsmarine, I really enjoyed the movie. The figure is also very nice, the uniform is great and he looks really cool with that beard. Greatsome :)
Thanks Tom! It's ben ages since I saw Das Boot, too. I saw it with my dad; he started his naval career in the submarine service when they still had subs of an equivalent size. He really enjoyed it, and said it was very realistic. They did a great job of recreating Jurgen Prochnow's face.
Looks awesome. Too bad it's not die cast metal, but I still love how it looks. Will definitely be picking this one up!
You must get it. And you must get the droideka Hot Toys just announced. To quote Quill, I have spoken. Thanks for stopping by.
EVIL C3PO 😂👍
Great review mate! Liked the closeup photos too! Really captured the colour! 👍🏻 And great idea with the bubblewrap!
Thanks, I was really trying to show the coloring. As always, thanks for watching and commenting. It means a lot to me.
Super jealous, he looks awesome. And Murder Hornet is a fitting name for these troopers. Great review!
Thank you, Matthew.
Glad you like it, it’s a cool figure isn’t it. Murder Hornet Trooper is a better name for it too! 😅 Congrats on picking up two of these, great video 🙌🏻
Thank you, my friend. TBH I wouldn't mind a third, but other needs and wants take precedence right now.
Why an actors head. Sooner have it modelled to the actual person. I'd keep it altogether in the box otherwise takes the value off
I did replace the head on the third figure with a Stauffenberg head; I didn't want a Tom Cruise figure. 🤣 I don't collect these for their value, and putting them together is half the fun. So there's no keeping them int he box. Thanks for stopping by.
@@daniel_sc1024 regret getting rid of the action man I had as a kid. Early months of year bought the 1982 talking commander with eagle eye unboxed. Then this year a 1973 action man field commander and field radio set boxed and 1992 G.I Joe Duke army soldier unboxed saved money so got spare uniform. Feb 1973 action man pilot missing helmet Land rover Jeep and scouts car, last month 2 1990s action man figures. First thing the woman said when I bought the field commander have you got the bug 😄
Great review excellent figure
The arm band was as it was. We cannot change the History whether we like it or not.
Thank you kindly for sharing!
Wow 4 variations!! All impeccably detailed too!! 👊🏻
Thanks. Yeah, the level of detail is what drives me to collect them. I need to get back to some modern military - the detailing on those is insane.
Thank you for your support to 3R.
that is amazing. I didn't know they made these. I'm a huge WW2 fan - Europe & Pacific. There's not enough hours in a day for me to read all those glorious biographies of these men.
I stumbled on the sixth scale hobby quite by accident about 15 years ago. It's definitely not something you see in your typical toy store 😄 Thanks for stopping by.
So Nazi Generals are collectible heroes now? Good grief....
What the hell am I watching
The Twilight Zone
For a second there, I thought that was Colonel Klink 😂.
I do have a Luftwaffe captain that would look at home on Hogan'd Heroes. 😂😂 I would love to get a Sgt Schultz figure - that is my favorite character in the series.
These figures are incredible, and I'm a huge WWII buff, but I checked the site and I have to ask.... Is it really *only* N@ZI figures? Having a shelf w/ WWII figures of various nations from Allies to Axis would very cool, but a display w/ JUST Himmler, Rommel, and Adolf sitting in an SS chair is *crazy.* Obviously geared towards a pretty specific audience...
Thanks for stopping by. 3R and DiD are, as I understand it, the same company. 3R is geared more towards what might be termed "controversial" figures (Hitler, Goering, SS figures, etc.), mainly WWII German, but they've also made a few WWII Japanese figures as well. DiD is geared towards less controversial WWII German figures. And, although they have produced quite a few WWII German figures, they also produce other lines as well. Twice they've produced WWII American figures based off "Saving Private Ryan" as well as General Patton. One of their most recent releases was a Tom Cruise "Top Gun" figure. My most recent DiD acquisition is a WWII American fighter pilot. There are also other companies that create sixth scale WWII figures (DAM Toys, Soldier Story, Alert Line, Ujindou, Facepool, to name a few). All my German figures are DiD/3R for consistency, but my WWII Americans are from multiple companies.
Cool vid mate 👊🏻 Details are very impressive on these figures! Coat looks nice and warm! I would not dare use the monocle as I’m sure it would vanish in a second 😅
Thanks a bunch, Chris. The detailing is what got me into collecting them; I normally collect Star Wars and modern military, but DiD stepped up their game with these German dudes. I'm not too worried about the monocle - for me, it's all about the uniform and their equipment.
Great video my friend. I'm quite jealous that you already have a Model, I want it too, so we'll see when it arrives in the Czech Republic. He's a greatsome figure and that fur coat is fab. You put him well next to the capacity of Rommel and Drud which I also have in my collection. Awesome figure, one of the best 3reich figures :)
Thanks. I almost didn't get him, but glad I did. And I couldn't let such a great coat go to waste, so got two. 😂 I hope they re-issue the Rommel figure soon.
Great video mate! For info the base with the photo of the grey pipes is to represent the underside of the AT-AT, it's also magnetised so the grapple gun rope will stick to it. So you could stick the base to the underside of a shelf and have Luke ascending up towards the AT-AT to chuck the grenade in (that also might be the accessory you mention at the beginning of the vid where you weren't sure what it was)? I think the suit is really well weathered, he actually jumps into the swamp when he exits the X-Wing after the crash landing so it works for that too. Great side-by-side with the Sideshow version, that looks like a really solid figure. Was always quite keen on picking that one up tbh. Didn't realise how clean it was, but you're right it looks brand new in ANH doesn't it! Cheers for the video 👊🏻
Thanks, my friend. That didn't occur to me on the base, but makes sense. It would be cool to figure out a way to have him dangling from the underside of a shelf, lightsaber in hand as if he were about to strike at the underside of the walker. I've wondered about swapping out a Hot Toys head on the Sideshow figure, but not sure if they are compatible.
Freakishly realistic head sculpt and spot on accurate uniform and gear.
Nice review! That is a great looking figure. I'm not always a big fan of figures with too much expression, but it works really well with this figure. Love that dog too!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Yeah, not a big fan of such expressions, either; it kinda dictates the kind of pose you have to put them in. I recently got another figure with a yelling expression; I covered his lower face with the neck gaiter that came with him.
😂😂😂😂 grown men playing with toys 😂😂😂
Amazing!
Great figure(s)!! Again I'm loving the attention to detail, and the different swap out accessories and clothes. Cool closeup shots of the details woven into the video too, nice work! 👌🏻
Thanks as always, Chris. I have more figures in the works that will hopefully blow you away on the details and accessories.
Nice figure. You see, I wanted to get this figure in the spring, but Kesselring happened to be available as well, so he wins. I know the movie and think it was pretty good, although submarines are not my forte. The uniform is worked out to the smallest detail, even the head is perfect. Great :)
Yeah, if I had to choose between the two I would probably pick Kesselring, too. My dad was in the submarine service ages ago, serving on subs very similar to those of the WWII era. He found "Das Boot" to be a very accurate depiction of life aboard subs of that era. Thanks for stopping by, as always.
The body looks good with the head sculpt of Ellie from the Last of Us Part 2 by CCToys. I did exactly that with the body.
That’s one awesome looking figure. Great review!
Wow basically three figures in one! Amazing amount of stuff you get with these DiD figures!! 👍🏻
Added plus is I enjoy putting them together.
I have her stood next to a seated Boba Fett and I did not fully appreciate just how petite she actually Is next to other figures! Thanks for the side-by-side with the purge trooper!! Great video mate 👍🏻
The actress stands 5’ 3” tall.
@@ras2010abledid not know that! Seen her in loads of stuff and never realised. Thanks for the info 👍🏻
Nice one Daniel! You’re right I think this one is definitely a contender for FotY!! 🙌🏻
His head does swivel. Give it another try.
R5 has a bad motivator in the movie. 👍
Great video Daniel , i m from germany berlin . I m a collector from hot toys Star Wars / mandalorian . Great video , the shining Gold c3po are very nice ... lighning eyes are great . Cheers Gill olaf
Thanks for stopping by!
Cool vid Daniel! Again with these figures love all the array of accessories and highly detailed outfits. Superb. Love the rain coat! Nice pooch too! 🐕 Cheers for the video! Looks like you've been working hard getting all these videos out!! 👍🏻
Thanks, Chris. Yeah, I have quite the backlog on figures. And I had someone request a video. DiD responded to one of my videos; that was a pleasant surprise.
@@daniel_sc1024 wow congrats mate! That's great!!!!
Awesome trooper!! Originally I was slightly disappointed that the Purge Troopers didn't more closely resemble the Jedi Fallen Order trooper design, but this new design from the Kenobi series really grew on me quick. Love the helmet design in fact and that visor!! Great video!
Thanks, Chris. I can't wait to see him with the Grand Inquisitor.
I love this figure, congrats on getting 2!! I actually really like the helmet design too, looks superb. And it's great that we're still seeing Rogue One figures getting released!
It probably doesn't make sense to have two commanders, but I like them, so....
Nice figure, great uniform and equipment down to the smallest detail. What I don't like is the hideous head with the mouth open, it's a shame they didn't replace that head with the head of Funes or Bourvil who wore a feldgendarmerie uniform in the movie. Except for the horrible head, it's a very nice figure :)
My main problem with headsculpt like that is it forces you to use an action pose (which I am not too good at). Other than that, though , my main focus is always on the uniform and kit. My main concern with the head is that it look realistic. Thanks for stopping by, much appreciated.
Is the gun made out of metal & wood? Or is it‘s body made out of plastic with a wooden magazine? Thanks in advance, great video! :-)
Sorry I skipped over the gun. The stock is made out of real wood with a nice finish on it, the rest is metal with a spring-loaded sliding mechanism, and a leather sling. I used the gun in a kit-bashed figure I will upload a video of, with a closer look at the gun.
Great vid Daniel 👍🏻 Liking the comparison with the Sideshow threepio! I was a bit regretful I sold that one because I always thought it was a solid figure. Thankfully we’re getting the RotJ version 👍🏻
Thanks. Yeah, looking forward to comparing the HT RoTJ C3PO with the Sideshow one, too.
Yeah BD-72 just seems to run around the occasional scene in Mando. BD-1 is the same sort of droid and is in the Jedi Fallen Order video game and he was your buddy and did loads of different things. Great video, loved the R5 comparison and all your droids at the end!! Those Imperial droids too 👌🏻🔥
Thanks, Chris
In retrospect, it's too bad I didn't wait another week to make this video. The extra pit droid I ordered off ebay is arriving this week. 😮
Thank you for your support. Great review.
Awesome, looking great 3 version is better then one 😊👍
