how did you get that yellow hammer to take off those bolts?
Walmart has a the oem Subaru filter now, not made in japan tho its up to par!
This is just scare bait....rtv has never been the culprit of an engine failure and even if the main port gets mostly clogged there are side vents that circumvent the issue....it is right hand turns on track only running sticky tires pulling high sustained g's. I wouldnt bother dropping the pan.
Hello fr do u know if this exhaust is fit for Subaru Forester xt 2016 fa20dit
Tomei exhaust sounds amazing! Quick question, what's the Wheel and Tire Specs on the RPF1?
I just won't buy an 86 or brz until Subaru sorts the rtv matter. Otherwise ima stick to my reliable ef Honda! 😂
I wanna do all these to my bug too! Ol gal needs some love
What did you guys do about exhaust clearance?
why not just get the +35's that enkie already makes...?
+35 offset on, you run the risk in touching the fenders in the rear because it has such an aggressive offset. The sweet spot is +40
@thegreatpollo is correct, and its always nice to have the option of rotating the tires and having no issues. This way we can rotate the tires and maximize the life out of them.
I just installed mine and it sounds cool. Totally different than stock. Not loud but just right. It basically went on by itself it was so beautifully made. That’s the truth
a .5 to .75 overfill with oil accusump will largely eliminate the oil pressure issue. even wit R compound tires. No baffle has shown to help .
Is there a method to remove a seized damper? Mine is stuck can’t get it to break loose.
The replacement is pretty straight forward. You would remove the remaining part with an 8mm wrench, or needle nose pliers. Depending on where the clicker broke, there could be the allen rod in the shaft, which a magnet or tweezers should be able to extract. Then the new part will be threaded in clockwise, and the knob secured to the adjuster with the 2mm set screw. IF you are unable to get the stuck damper out you will need to replace the WHOLE shock cartridge. This is the only way to fix this issue. Luckily fortune auto honored my warranty. Good luck!
What in seven hells. No just stop, why does the Tomei sound like its dying?
So not for wrx 08-15 😢
Such a good video. I'm getting ready to install mine. I looked on your website and did not see anything for the VB chassis. Am I missing something??
That's my boy krustys Subaru 🐟
Please let me know if 8.5 x18 rims with 45 mm offset work with no mods.
They will rub the stock strut
I ran that exact setup and the front rubbed. I now have coilovers and they clear fine
How do you guys know that the re-applied RTV wont cause issues or be simply be re-created when the pan is torqued down and the sealant spreads out?
got the point :)
30 second mark! HAHA! i see what you did there ;)
Upgrading your Forrester Step 1: Sell that POS

This Vid+CBD gummies= had me stuck😂
yo this is sick
I’m getting squeaking noise 3 months after installing FA500’s onto my VB, any wonder why it would start to squeak from the front end?
Squeaking can happen on the front for a number of reasons, usually related to endlink adjustment issues or even some gravel stuck between the spring coil and the shock body. If you record the noise and email the clip to fortune, they can help diagnose and resolve the issue.
Easiest thing you can do is overfill oil by 0,5 quart, if you have upgraded car (wider tires etc), by 1 quart. Oil pan baffle kit dont resolve problem
I can't wait to race here
I'm building a BRZ now, trying to add some kind of lift. With some rally coilovers and the lift kit, I'm hoping to make it an off road champ. I had totally forgotten about the tire spacers! Definitely adding that to my shopping cart.
Link?
Best video out there on this. Thank you
So hypothetically if I was waiting on the adapter.. but wanted to install my exhaust in the meantime.. it would be best to remove the donut that I want to reuse and just deal with the small leak until the adapter shows up 🤷 😂
I use the black ones from Japan
No evidence on any baffles helping by multiple channels putting their own cars to the test on the track. The problem has to do with oil return rate to the pan when hard cornering to the right with rpms above 5500. Baffles do zero to help. As other commenters are saying, use heavier oil on track days and overfill by .5 to 1 quart. Or corner with higher gear (sub 5k rpm), or slower pace. If you don't track the car, or drive on the streets like a maniac with track tires, you'll never have issues.
An acetone wipe on the sealing surfaces before applying rtv promotes better abdesion. Just fyi
Drivers paddock did an indepth test on these engines and their advice is to just do what wrx drivers have done for the last 20 years, use 5w30-10w40 and overfill it a bit, thats all toyota does for their track 86s too. Baffle wont do a thing for oiling on the FAs, the pickup is at the bottom of a smaller pan, if its somehow not picking up oil then theres sure as hell none anywhere near that baffle lol.
Would a 24 cross trek with a 2.0 suffer from the sealant in the pickup tube? Wife just bought one, and now I’m tripping out. 😵💫
how do you know the hubcentric ring size for your wheels, regardless which wheel size you choose?
It is the factory specification for the hub center bore. As long as you know that for your vehicle, you can get whatever hub ring size you need for the wheel. So if a stock GR86 is 56.1mm, you would need a hub ring that is 56.1 to the wheel's center bore, which for enkei RPF1's are 73mm. So you would need a 56.1mm to 73mm hub ring.
24 GR here don’t listen to people saying it’s no big deal. In reality it isn’t a big deal aslong you get drop the pan and get it cleaned asap. Peace of mind is well worth the labor
I’m getting a 24 gr pretty soon and people are saying the issue is overblown and I don’t plan to abuse my car but the moment I get it I should get this checked out or whenever it’s time for an oil change?
@@humanbirdman3905 asap if you like peace of mind
😂 fram ultra is better than all of them , better filtration, by pass valve is to spec and its only $8 Made in USA as well
What model #?
Why?
@@82_KID 7317 is the number the letters in front of the numbers is the product line. I like the XG line up, really is a premium filter. The XG7317 also fits Hondas, been using these for years since they came out over a decade ago.
Is the situation the same with 22+ wrx?
yes it is, I've seen a few pictures/videos about it on Instagram. Doing this on the WRX is going to be a pain though. I'm waiting for WRX specific upgrades to open mine up.
so many enkei but what i want isn’t in stock 😩 haLp
Let us know what you want. If it isn't in stock we can still get them possibly!
Let us know what you want. If it isn't in stock we can still get them possibly!
@@OAKOS i sent an email and got a reply saying discontinued 😭
How many miles were on the car when you dropped the pan?
16,xxx miles
alot of misinformation on this.
Yea theres been enough research to know this is a non issue casued by lack of knowledge, these engines arent new, theres just alot more idiots driving them now that its in something cheaper than a wrx. People go out with 0w20 with a few thousand miles on it on a track and expect the car to survive a 2 hour beating, do it with an american v8 or something and see how long it lasts.
@@jimbojumbo-os1np yep alot of it just trying to push there product with fear. dont people realize that the previous generation also have RTV in them.
Toyota/Subaru would this for Free!!!
gonna do this on my 23BRZ here in Japan soon enough. just gonna get some new 16" rims and some 215/60/16 cross country toyo tyres (could go 70 but then you gotta remove a bunch of the lining)
205/60/R16 should be perfect.
@@wudahu1979 why is tire width at 205 more ideal than 215?
oh i guess smaller tire width saves room, that way no rubbing.
How’s the ride feel over stock?
Anyone know a place in central Florida that can do this for me? I feel it’s a very specific niche problem and want someone to already know about it
Why did you guys not use a vacuum cleaner to clean the pickup?
Over exaggerating like hell on this broski
If you think it is over exaggerating, go watch @Misha Charoudin's video about his gr86 engine failure.
@@OAKOS dude those baffles do not help. If you’re tracking the car it’s pretty much expected to blow up. I’ve seen extensive testing on this and work for Toyota. The rtv does not cause issues. Tampering with shit for no reason usually causes issues. High g force turns can send majority of the oil into the timing cover causing an oil pressure drop. That is when damage occurrs and a baffle will not fix that issue at all. If you track your car you should have deep pockets.
Sure. While the pressure dropping is due to the high g force turns, the entire engine is sealed with way to much sealant from the factory and just cleaning the pickup and re sealing the pan is to help prevent future damage. Please go watch Misha's video.. You will see even with the Baffle, the engine failed due to RTV melting and mixing with the oil AND the high g force pressure dropping. None of it is good, and yes you should have money if you are tracking a car. Thanks for your input though.
@@OAKOS Misha's video is really questionable at best. RTV is a Red Herring. Oil Starvation is the actual problem. Are you up to date with 900 BRZ and what @Verus Engineering are doing? If not, I would really get up to speed on that before saying that hasn't been verified at all will solve the problem.
If you watched the video, or the intro of the video you would hear us talk about 900 BRZ and Verus Engineering. Maybe you missed it. And 3 days after this video released, Verus posted their update video on the oil pan. The cars are still only 2-3 years old now and we will see what the future brings for these engines.
NOPE. This is all pure BS internet hysteria. Its people like this that keep spreading false crap and scaring people away from these cars. The RTV was accounted for. Thats why the pre filter screen in the pickup tube has 5 sides on it. The absolute "worst" one documented got peoples panties all on a bunch. When it was actually calculated, it was 4% of the surface area of the screen was blocked. Then consider the screen on the 2nd gen car is 500% the size of that on a 1st gen. Tell me again there is a problem. Take this fear mongering bullshit off the internet. You are making people more stupid.
