Today we got to explore Italy’s capital city Rome. We caught the train from La Storta to Roma San Pietro. From here it was a short walk to the Vatican where we were able to take in the magnificent St Peter’s Basilica. Italy Trip - Rosolina to Poppi🇮🇹

After enjoying Venice for the day we made our way south down the coast and then inland. We took another route up through the hills through to the little town of Poppi. Here we took a look through the local castle and checked in to our new accommodation on a local farm with a beautiful pool. We camped up here for two nights to take in some sun an relax.

We left Lake Garda and embarked on a stunning trip through the mountains to a little village called Moena. Here we stopped for lunch and took in the picturesque views. We then set off through the Dolomite Bellunesi National Park. After coming out the other side of the national park we came down to sea level and headed for our next stop just outside of Venice.

We managed to get away for the weekend to County Durham in a wee town called Staindrop. Once there we met Hope’s friend Alice who took us out for a walk to the Low force and High force waterfalls. Afterwards we went for a drive up to Cow Green reservoir.

With the sun shining and the temperature well into the 20’s by 10am we made our way to Buckingham Palace. The place was packed for the changing of the guard ceremony. Today we got out and about in London Town. We went and visited the Parliament buildings and Big Ben. Then headed through to Trafalgar Square before stopping off at the William Gladstone statue for a quick photo. From there we had lunch and walked up through to the Tower bridge. I have to ask ,when did you do your 500 .because as its Scotland this could be the height of Summer .. 💯 best adventure l had was being ensconced in our car during ten dayd of rain on the 500 . and only having dash cam footage and our phone snippets ..💯 made me appreciate the beauty of wild Scotland 🏴
Hey there, We did our trip mid to late August. The rain was a real shame but we still had a great trip. The scenery was absolutely stunning, we would love to go back again and see more one day.

LNER do not sell Offpeak Returns. Their seats are far too uncomfortable for long journeys. Berwick looks nice.
