I sure miss going to Ascot Park…it was surreal walking out of there after the last Thanksgiving night Grand Prix knowing it was all over

I wasn't really involved intil the 1990's but do remember Dean Thompson, Bubby Jones, Rip Williams, Jimmy Oskie and Buster Venard. Interesting about tires, this was before the soft side tires took over? Most of the sprint shows I watched was at Perris. Who ran that track anyway?

Man I miss Ascot . Those were the days. No one could set up Hilborn injection like my old mechanic Al Edwards god rest his soul.

So cool to see Deano in his heyday. No one was ever as dominant in CRA until the Demon 25-40 years later. But Hollywood Jack was right: You don't need 900 horsepower to put on a great show. And TYSM to Dan, Don and the rest of K's for keeping the show going in Perris.

Thanks for sharing. I'm from Texas but I did get to attend Ascot once back in 83 it was a night I will never forget, Dean Thompson won the feature and we got really lost on the way back to the hotel. The good days back before GPS navigation when getting lost could be an adventure in it's self especially after dark.😁

Any one that needs help with an Onan. Needs to post full model and serial number. So that the one trying to help. Knows what you have. Saying I have a generator is not of any help. Onan started making generators around 1925.

Set the choke and clean the plugs. Also needs to be run more often. To keep the carb clean. I am an Onan tech since 1980

I got so tired of putting money in these junk Onan generators I went and bought me a Harbor Freight 3500 watt inverter generator for 699, super quiet sips gas and I'll never have any problems again that onan is a piece of s***

DOES THE Unit have solid state ignition unit? sounds like the old Briggs and Stratton problem, ign. get hot and quits.

I went too Ascot on and off from fifties until they shut down. Me and my Dad. I hated too see it close !

My dad started taking me to ascot in the mid fifths. The only ones I remember Alan Heath , with the hook , some Chevys still some Offys. It was great. I came home one day. Brand new quarter midget !! We started racing , a kid named Eddy Lozinsky the little outlaw was no one. His dad Ed Lozinsky and my Dad became best friends he built my motors we raced 22 tracks in S. Cal ! Later my age sent me to race Los Alamitos , Dean Thompson was racing there for the Bromys , Bobby Oliver , Mike Oliver world champ , Rick Gouda and Buster Venard raced SAN Fernando Valley ! I quit at 16. My team mate Eddie Lozinsky. Started again in his twenties lost his life Manzy in Az. Racing was great ! Me and Dad and Eddie and His Dad lived for race days. Dale Cullers. Las Vegas Nv.

how do you remove generator to work on it

how do I fix it, what do I do? just got it no manual!!

generator starts an as soon as I take me finger off switch it dies

my onan 5000 is doing the same thing. it's at Cummings and 1200$ later they still can't fix . They say must be internal and makes low oil pressure kick in.

You need to prime the generator. Hold the stop button for 30 seconds then start it. Read the manual!

it's not running on both cyc properly look at the movement ! sounds like the gov is working hard to keep it running .

call certified onan repair shop we can fix , haven't found one yet i could not fix.

our generator runs good for 5 minutes then a pulsating noise comes out of it. It sounds like a uga noise. New gas is in it what could be the problem.

we have a onan mobilegenset with 400 hours on it. it runs for about 20 minutes then gets hot cuts off. Power house repair checked it out and can not locate problem. it shows a code 35 everything has been checked and changed but problem still there.

sounds like your fuel filter is cloged or your fuel pump is getting hot carburator sounds like it can use a cleaning out also youtube shows you how to do all three its one of the three.you can also look up how to test a onan rv generator fuel pump on utube.

Try changing spark plugs.If this works then spark generation system maybe weak.

CLASSIC CARB TROUBLE. CLEAN IT, REBUILD IT, OR REPLACE IT. I AM SURPRISED NO ONE IS AFTER SOURCING A CARB MAD IN CHINA. ONAN WANTS ALMOST 300 BUCKS FOR A MICROLITE CARB. ITS HIGHWAY ROBBERY. I AM CONSIDERING CONVERTING TO LP GAS, TO END THIS CONSTANT CARB TROUBLE, AND ENDLESS MAINTENANCE. THE CARB FUEL LINE IS A DEAD LEG, THE LOWEST POINT IN THE FUEL SYSTEM, AND UNLESS FUEL IS PURGED VERY FREQUENTLY BY RUNNING THE GEN OR DRAINING THE CARB AND FUEL LINE, THE CARB WILL MUNG UP ENDLESSLY. ITS A PISS POOR DESIGN, AND METHANOL GASOLINE ADDS TO THE TROUBLE. WANT GREAT RELIABILITY, AND CLEAN RUNNING CARB ? GO TO PROPANE.

So, What Did You Do ? I Recommend, Sea Foam Spray cleaner and spray it intoi the Carb Bowl...Let it sit for 3 hours, and Then restart it...Worked for me !
