Personally I really enjoy the Ninja movement, however it is both a bit of freestyle can be pretty unprotected, especially in main hand movement portions. Dosa is much more protected, with way less buttons required in order to move the same or more distance. In my opinion Ninja is an enthusiast class where you take the bad with the good because you love playing it, whereas Dosa is way more beginner friendly, is still effective, and to me is one of the newer "simple" classes that has a nice rounded kit. Similar to Scholar, Deadeye, Sage etc.

Temps are fine, but if you are ever worried just check google for your max temperatures for your card and double check

I still play both, but I do enjoy spear. For damage output in large scale, spear has higher AoE potential, but GS is the more consistent and useful weapon in my opinion. Also GS passives are infinitely better

@@maddmike23Depends on the size of the small scale, if its 8 or so players, I would still consider using this build, 5 or less I would use an Arena build, which I will do a video on tomorrow and post.

I played with it for a while. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. In general, SNS abilities have low base damage and for a skill that basically only deals damage it wasn't that effective. Willbreaker is a flex slot, but for large scale, lowering the enemy defense and evasion for my team to follow up on nets more effective damage output for the party than me using Last shot at Victory. Thats my view at least

I've tested in guild hall. You can also, use counter barrier, then have someone attack you multiple times while you use spear abilities. You will see no block chance icons and no counter-attacks. You can also simply just test by holding spear in main hand while stationary, popping counter barrier, and watching no shield blocks occur. This is the same reason when you are in tornado cc you feel squishy, you lose all block chance while in the air.

It’s a weird interaction that they need to clarify. Because with spear in hand Gerard’s Presence (passive that can stack on shield block) still stacks up to 10 with spear in hand..

@@karlito2156 Correct, there is some weird passive interactions, but unfortunately for us at least, losing the block chance makes us a good bit squishier, and since spear relies on stacking Explosive Fury and then throwing spears on repeat, it's a long time without block chance while dealing damage.

The heroic is hands down better, the range means you can stack embers while they are running from you instead of needing to have your hand up their ass the whole time. Also being able to throw inferno javelins from 17metres or higher basically makes you a staff user during your dps phase. I have been testing Juno spear and i still prefer heroic overall. Just my 2 cents

@ hmm ok I see, are the hit chance and cdr trait from mindveil not valuable enough versus the extra range of the heroic? Is this for large scale or small scale?

@@i5uckAt3verything I was running mindveil before swapping to Resistance, but the extra range is too strong, at least for a tank. Realistically the people running melee evasion are GS/Dagger stuck in their Arena mindset, most players for large scale are running Magic/Ranged evasion. Also it is not our job as a tank to be focus targeting a specific player. This build focuses more on the aoe disruption and damage. DPS 1: Stack embers, throw spears (from a distance with range is great) DPS 2: Pop counter barrier while being focused, spam Piercing strike Neither of these really need the hit rate. Check the screenshot in description for how hit rate affects evasion. The value in having 5-8% more hit rate, doesn't mean as much as the HP, Range or Collision resist in my opinion. @@scruffoon appreciate the in depth reply! Im still gearing up for PvP so still working on my build, the only thing with heroic is that it looks like it’s super rare as it’s only a world drop. Would it make sense for me use the harpoon and lvl it up in the meantime until I make enough lucent to begin to fully trait out the heroic polearm?

For PvP mid to large scale it depends. You will usually pick up 2 or 3 kills on the AoE abilities. When spamming piercing strike like the intro it can be 5-10 kills depending on the situation. PvE and Arena I will do a separate guide for. Hope this helped

Definitely a good point to make. In my opinion, Majority of players do not run Melee Evasion outside of GS/Dag, at least in my experience, most DPS classes are running either Endurance or Magic/Ranged evasion alongside Shadow Harvester / Phantom sets.

Realistically, if you have 4pc Shock, and you're running Stalwart, Counter Barrier and Immortal pride, the tanking portion of the build is complete and you can tank effectively. The rest of the build determines what you want to do AS a tank. Do you want to buff the team? Debuff the enemies? Deal higher personal damage? Be annoying and displace enemies with knockbacks, pulls, pushes etc. Tanking in this game relies on you popping your defensives at the right time, and having a healer in your pocket, I play this build and my SNS/GS build both as frontline, initiate, backline peeler, and bruiser. ⁠​⁠@@scruffoonas a dps only player, super appreciative of this comment! Most spear players I’ve come across complains of mana issues with the ignite spec of the builds. I’ve just got my Nirma sword with mana eff trait would that resolve the mana issues or does this not affect you at all?

@@emiinence You will definitely run into mana issues in extended fights, but mana pot + mushroom stir fry helps. It is a mana heavy setup though

You can see here how Accuracy compares to Evasion stats, and the difference in Hit Rate you actually get for the stats. On spear, this is much less important than something like GS where you rely heavily on Guillotine hitting that one big chunk of damage

So all that I take from the image is that with 450ish melee hit against a 2.5k build evasion is only 32 percent and of course if it goes down to 2k evasion then melee hit increase to 39%?

@@NeverGiveUpDaily the image is to show accurate values on how much hit you need, versus how much of a benefit you gain from diving deeper into hit chance. Make your own judgement on what you deem acceptable. However in large scale especially, melee evasion is the least used evasion stat and giving up other stat's to increase hit for the extra 5-10% is not worth it in my opinion

In general the attack speed is all round a good stat since spear focuses on it, but the value for the build comes in Explosive fury and Javelin Inferno. Stacking explosive fury Embers as quick as possible and then throwing the Javelins as quick as possible once embers are stacked while enemies are grouped makes a good difference. Once they start taking big AoE damage they tend to try and run asap, you want to get as many javelins into the ball as you can before it disperses. For passives though, feel free to adjust any of the spear ones as you see fit, none are overly amazing.

Juno spear has higher base damage, but you lose the Range if you were using spear of the resistance, and that range makes it feel really nice to play. Juno effect also drops the lava puddle under you but it doesn't follow you. Great for PVE, but for PVP it will be dependent on keeping enemies in place to eat the damage. Bellandir Sword + Juno spear could be a great combo. For reference, you are looking at hitting everyone (who isnt heavy melee endurance) for about 700-1000 per tick (Juno + Blood Leech) with a chance to heavy, for 5 seconds. This means in theory if we assume the higher end of 1000 per tick, that is 5000 damage to each enemy over 5 seconds. Not bad, but heavily reliant on them stacking on you and staying in the fire. The heal portion of the skill is horrible, and is not affected by the Juno effect.

Tanking is only as good as your healer, and the 2 death in that clip were just solo jump ins. SNS / GS is definitely better in my opinion but Spear gives you more AoE damage to play with and the fear is fun. I look at spear as enjoyable, not meta, for SNS at least. Issue with spear is that while applying weaken, using Phoenix Barrage, or the Fear Leap, if you get CC'd or attacked during all of these long durations with spear in hand, you have 0% block chance and become squishy. GS has much less time with GS in hand besides Guillotine Blade. SNS/Wand very tanky and annoying because of self heals, but lacks the damage of GS and Spear as an offhand. True tank / support, SNS/Wand. Bruiser build is where GS or Spear shines Also Spear passives are not amazing for Tanking, although the CC resist is nice. GS passives are amazing by comparison
