Winter Gold Panning- Gold N Sand Hand Dredge and Blue Bowl
Spent a couple hours working a fractured bedrock crevice on a bench using the Gold-N-Sand Hand Dredge. Then ran concentrates through a Blue Bowl concentrator

Southwest Washington Gold Prospecting
มุมมอง 1.1K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
I put 3 buckets in total through the sluice today and ended up with som pretty good gold. I dug behind and underneath some huge boulders on the inside bend. This spot is the first place the river can widen out and slow down after going through a fairly deep and narrow canyon, so I figured all the heavies would drop out in the spot indicated by the large boulders building up on the bank. Thanks ...

Found some agates, petrified wood and cool rocks during a quick trip to the agate property. It seems to have already been picked through by trespassers because I usually find more agates than this especially in this area. More videos to come soon, thanks for watching, like and subscribe for more. #rockhounding #agates #petrifiedwood #creek #rocks
Prospecting on the East Fork of the Lewis River, Washington State
มุมมอง 5Kปีที่แล้ว
Running a couple buckets through the sluice at the new spot on the East Fork of the Lewis river. This is a spot I chose to keep digging based on a previous trip. What caught my eye about it is a huge flat rock that creates a natural riffle that led me to find some of the biggest flakes yet out of this river. However the buckets I ran through in this video seemed to be much less concentrated, le...

    I went out there last weekend to scope it out. I didn't pan and I haven't panned for gold in my life. I did find some boulders and saw sand behind them, not dirt. The sand, I am assuming, was built up from higher water levels. I was hoping on going out there this weekend, but not sure if the weather will allow it.

    • @NorthwestGoldProspector
      @NorthwestGoldProspector 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well you should definitely get a pan if you can and get out if you can! If you do get a pan, don’t forget you need to “season” otherwise the water will bead off the surface of the pan and take all your fine gold. Rub it with sand or fine steel wool to rough up the surface. I haven’t been out recently due to not only the weather but also a busy work schedule, but I’ll hopefully get some time soon. Good luck!

      @@NorthwestGoldProspectorI do have a pan and it is seasoned. I used light sandpaper as I had some in the house. I've had a few years of almost non-stop medical issues, last year being cancer. But my wife and I went out last weekend. We did some classification of some dirt, ran it through a mini sluice we had in the river. My body was screaming at me, I fell a couple of times as my balance was way off. I also rushed it. Where I pulled the dirt from there was quite a bit of black sand. I need to run it through the sluice I have here at the house where I am not worried about falling over and hitting my head on a granite rock. I was so tired even the next day my eyes said, nope not even going to try looking for small shit in that. Even if we didn't get anything, it was so peaceful out there. I just need to get 3 legged stools to sit on and some hiking sticks to help get up and down to the river level so I don't slip and tumble the 10-15 feet. I may be older, but I can still learn.

    Subscriber 82 here... I've been pondering some inventions/techniques for gold recovery that are designed to expedite the process significantly and it is so easy.. only problem is I don't know anyone close to me that has the circumstances in prospecting/mining that would seriously benefit from my theories. This video is EXACTLY one of the scenarios that I believe can be expedited to a level that would compare to removing the entire "feed the sluice" portion of the process. I'd love an opportunity to do some controlled experiments to evaluate some of my ideas and see if they would in-fact improve efficiency. Practical application is very different than what looks good on paper. But worst case it would be fun to experiment with methods nobody else is even mentioning... Woodland Wa. Anyone feel free to hit me up if they are mining this way and wouldn't mind me doing some capture rate testing vs time required to achieve said rates. Tks

    • @NorthwestGoldProspector
      @NorthwestGoldProspector 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the sub! I also have some ideas that could improve the overall efficiency of processing in the field as well as con processing, however the rules set for recreational prospecting in WA are pretty limiting to what I can actually do out in the field for real testing. Eventually, I’ll get to the point where I can do my own experiments, at which point I’d love to test your ideas as well, but right now I’m focused on finding the gold first. Thank you so much for your feedback

    Nice. Im surprised you are doing that well testing that shallow in material with so much organics.

    • @NorthwestGoldProspector
      @NorthwestGoldProspector 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was surprised too. On this river I usually only find flood gold in the test pans in prime spots and sometimes it’s with all the organics and lighter stuff. Flood gold is my indicator that there’s something bigger even deeper in the hole. You never know if there’s gold there unless you test it.

    • @MrLeadghost
      @MrLeadghost 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @NorthwestGoldProspector oh yeah agreed. We work the same areas and I never see pans like that without serious digging, winching boulders or sniping. Seems like there is a source still depositing upstream from you which is cool.
