This was our final ramp entrance, I’m sorry for not posting sooner I’ve been busy with school and stuff but I’m back at it. We have a home playoff game this week. So if you’re seeing this, and like what I’m posting, please let me know if you’d like one last video. I’m very proud of our Drumline this year, we are super young and do not have much experience. Over the summer I was selected to be apart of the South West Iowa Honor Marching Band. We learned 2 songs and a cadence that is unforgettable. I am the tenor drum player on the far left. The camp was brutal because I was never use to wearing Pearl tenor drums and it took a lot of work and effort but I was finally able to carry them for about a mile and a half before I had to lift them up. The Tri-Center marching band has worked hard these past weeks, with a very young high school band with only 3 seniors, and 4 Juniors. We worked all week on learning the first movements for the show. I like the first song. What is it called?
Exes and Ohs
Despite being a brass player, I’ve been practicing percussion a lot, and I think I’m able to play jig 2, but I don’t have tenors to do it on, I’ve used my cousins practice pad but I barely go over there.
You can use your imagination when it comes to a practice pad for tenors. When I was in 8th grade I cut circles in the dimension of the rims with paper and taped it to a table or any hard surface just to practice.
Jig 2
For jig 2, nice save and good idea not doing the solo whilst moving, and i may be wrong but the snare is playing the wrong part for jig 2, do you guys hqave an actual drum tech or teacher?
@race2o739 we don’t have either. I’ve taught them everything and had to simplify the snare part for him.
where’s the solo
To not wobble and stau level with your drum, use your platforms, dont bend your knees, and separate hips from your torso, it will look better and if done right, feel better
The go pro harness broke right before this, so it looks extra wobbly
@@CharlieMorse-c7f I can also see a snare just walking 😫
@@PeytonMastrianni yeah I’ve tried my best to help him but he just doesn’t listen and the director has also tried too

@@romanwilliams4057 we do it’s just hard to march with different time signatures
@@CharlieMorse-c7f isn't the tenor solo in the same time as the rest of it?
@@romanwilliams4057 it starts in 4/4 and goes to 5/4 and a bunch of random ones.
@CharlieMorse-c7f is there a different way to march in 5/4? I think you're talking about tempo changes, and there aren't any (that I know of) in jig 2
@@romanwilliams4057 I’m not sure, I never thought about marching it down to our field, I’ll practice it though

Our Drumline is super young. Our snare player has never played until this year. And he learned 5 cadences, a parade song, a field show, and hot to go. Im proud of all the work we’ve accomplished. But yes it could be way better than it is now.
First: Nice catch, and nice recovery. Second: Why doesn’t your Spock have a drum head…?

Not bad! Keep up the metronome practice!
Oooh those tenors need a tune up, but nice job!
@@milesreid7526 I kindly disagree, I think they are too high up. Also the area we were at made the drums sound a little different and echoey
@@CharlieMorse-c7f i think he meant u need to tune them up as in fix them up
@@anasian9217 yeah I think you are right. We also need to get new heads, our director and he’d get us new drum heads this year but have not yet. We have had the same heads since 2020
Keep it up!
this is so good! I'm currently playing sax but I REALLY wanna be in drumline!
@@Kitty-The-KAT Well start working on stick holding I’m sure your school has 1 million from sticks. Practice how to hold them and how to play rhythms. I love this one website that generates random rhythms for you to play. It helps build up some chops too!

YEAAAAAAHHHHHHH good job man :))))))
@@Cod-8989 thank you, you inspire me
That was nice and clean keep it uo
Great job! I'm no expert, but those tenors sound differently tuned than what they're usually supposed to be. Specifically the difference between drums 1 and 2 and drums 3 and 4. Just curious if you were aware of that. Not hating at all, just curious.
@@Ethan_Buchanan I follow EMCs tuning drum method, I might have messed it up though.
@@CharlieMorse-c7f props for using EMC at least 👍
