It seems gorgious but one question: How bettles lay eggs? Where do they exactly lay eggs and how do you seperate them for nursery?
@@onsoycenk Beetles lay their eggs in the substrate of the top tray or in the substrate that trickles down through the separation screen from the top tray into the larvae tray below.
@@organicfoodera thanks for the reply. Maybe it would be better to add an extra portable flat tray to seperate eggs from the substrate, so bettles could lay their eggs easily and continuously, just an idea :) But the tray system looks great!
Why do you have so many boxes? 😂
Whenever there's a box, I must save it! 😂

How can i farm in Winter?
@@user-dm3hw1wh1w either you use a net-cage indoors (ofera.at/products/black-soldier-fly-bsf-love-cage-professioneller-netzkaefig-zur-fliegen-paarung-oder-larven-aufzucht) or you overwinter your larvae protected during the cold months to start again in the following season!
@@organicfoodera thanks for your fast answer. How warm do they need for developing? Are 18-20 degrees enough? Another question: is the farm smelling?
@@user-dm3hw1wh1w 25 degrees is the optimum. If it‘s colder larvae need much more time to develop. BSF Larvae prefer wet substrate which smells more than dry one. It’s also depending what you feed and how much. Veggie Kitchen scraps smell less than meat, cheese or any animal based scraps.
@@organicfoodera Thank you so much for your answers.
Thanks for the video. I really like the bin you use for collecting organic waste. Where did you buy those?
@@paulschneller9766 Thanks for your feedback. 😊 Just use this link: ofera.at/products/beetkomposter-fur-wurmkompostierung-im-hochbeet-und-garten
@@organicfoodera I guess there is a little misunderstanding. I already have the bin for the worms. 😅 I was talking about the little grey bin inside your house, with the food scraps and where you put the coffee in.
@@paulschneller9766 Got it. 😅 Then use this link: ofera.at/products/biomulleimer-4l-komposteimer-mit-deckel
Nice machine
What is the name of the product/machine that spout grain-like matter shown at 01:32 ?
This is one of our sieving machines. Just check out www.russellfinex.com!
I would like to buy some breeding cage, where can I buy it ?
Hi! Just check out ofera.at/collections/soldatenfliegenlarven-zuechten or contact us via form ofera.at/pages/kontakt
you are genius man,,,,,,, you make all things to simple like that
Your boxes are very nicely made. I'm thinking about purchasing it and I have a question: if I wanted to use a maximum of one colony of adult insects, how many floors would I have to build and how big would the flock have to be to use the full laying cycle as in a flock, on this area of the box? ;)? I hope you understand what I mean ;)
Thanks for your feedback. With one colony in your Farm Top-Tray, you can use up to 4 additional trays with up to 1kg worms in each tray. The substrate height should be around 3cm in height.
w h e r e f i s h ?
Unfortunately not on the video. I put it in, after a few days of cycling with bacteria: ofera.at/collections/aquaponik-zubehoer/products/aquaponik-bakterienkultur-und-mikroorganismen-350ml
Where do you obtain the leave?
After a few breeding cycles you can shovel out half of the compost and substrate and put it into your garden beds.
Thank you for this info, now i understand better,so someone must be feeding the larvae everyday for more growth and population,i used chicken manure from my farm.i noticed after 5day the maggots were reducing.the frost was very much than the maggots.
What do you do with the flys ?
Flies live for 1-2 weeks to mate and lay eggs. You can mix dead flies into the composting substrate to enrich the compost with chitin which is very good for the health of your plants.
Okay easy peasy set up...im going to harvest some for my reptiles and chickens. How do I return some larvae to ensure population keeps going?
Just put some adult larvae in the tray again, so that they can hatch to flies.
👍👍👍👍👍
How your product in m²?
60x40cm which means 0,24m2

New subscriber here. Im a breeder of superworm as well. I want to try to eat my superworm because it was delicacy in some parts of our country. Just friend them with garlic and they are taste like nuts according to them. Hmmm Soon i will make a video about that. Thanks for this video :)
Sorry where the filter system and sump tank ?
grow beds are the filter in this case. we use additional compost worms in the beds to break down the solids. sump is not necessary because it's a simple flood & drain system and no CHOP construction.
With that system, I'd have some fish and veggies to eat and some weed to smoke 😍

This is a terrible build since it doesn't have any solids removal
Thanks for your feedback. We use compost worms in our grow beds! 😀
@@organicfoodera That is an interesting idea, how has it been holding up so far?
th-cam.com/video/N82PL6dh2Xo/w-d-xo.html
Trying to breed bsf but not having any luck. I have a ton of flies but have never had eggs. My setup seems to be correct (86ish degrees, above 30% humidity, food scraps for attractant, laying media of woods slats and cardboard, water to drink) I’ve done both an indoor and outdoor setup with no luck. They mostly just sit on the mesh. Any ideas?
30% humidity? Seems to be not enough. How much light? Flies need light for mating.
@@organicfoodera it’s higher than 30%. It I read that was the minimum. Usually around 50%. They are outside under a tree with light that peaks through the tree.
Very very intelligent.
In your experience, what are the foods that bring the best results, such as bigger and fatter worms?
Wheaten bran as base substrate and some „wet food“ like carotts & potatoes. That‘s a good mix!
Love your video. Save your back use a low chair or stool instead of bending down or put the post on a table and build what you can on the table. Protect your knees and back. God bless!
Great 👍
How can I build or make a DIY version of this enclosure?
Hello, how do I contact this farm, if possible, the WhatsApp number?
Did you make this
Hi, do you ever remove the frass and use it as compost? Excellent video!
Great 👍
Looks great! Where can you buy this unit? What is the pricing for in Australian dollars?
Hi! Just contact us on www.ofera-aquaponics.com/contact
Genius but 2:01 to hatch eggs still manually
Hey, one last question, what mesh size did you use for separating the big mealworms from the frass, eggs and smaller mealworms?
0,5mm
@@organicfoodera thanks!
What is the size of the net mesh that you used to separate the eggs from the mealworms? I am making one, but the net that I have is 1/20th of an inch, so I am worried that it is too small for the eggs and the baby mealworms to go through. So please let me know what sizes mesh I should use. Thank you. Please reply.
We use 1mmx1mm mesh size
@@organicfoodera I see thanks!
Where do you buy this? I’d like to buy the exact one
