Hello, and welcome to this TH-cam channel.
Brian May teaches you “Bohemian Rhapsody” guitar solo - Instagram story
Hello, I screen recorded this video from Dr. Brian May’s Instagram stories so I could use his teachings and learn the “Bohemian Rhapsody” guitar solo myself. Since, a lot of people missed out on his story, I decided to publish screen - recording of his explanation on TH-cam so that everyone can learn the solo from the man himself. In this video he explains how to perform the solo on his iconic/ original “Red special” electric guitar that he constructed with his father. Dr. Brian Harold May is the lead guitarist of the legendary Classic rock band, QUEEN.
Brian Harold May CBE (born 19 July 1947) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and astrophysicist. He is the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen.
May was a co-founder of Queen with lead singer Freddie Mercury and drummer Roger Taylor, having previously performed with Taylor in the band Smile, which he had joined while he was at university. Within five years of their formation in 1970 and the recruitment of bass player John Deacon completing the lineup, Queen had become one of the biggest rock bands in the world with the success of the album A Night at the Opera and its single "Bohemian Rhapsody". From the mid-1970s until the early 1990s, Queen were an almost constant presence in the UK charts and played at some of the biggest venues in the world, including giving an acclaimed performance at Live Aid in 1985. As a member of Queen, May became regarded as a virtuoso musician and he was identified with a distinctive sound created through his layered guitar work, often using a home-built electric guitar called the Red Special.[3] May wrote numerous hits for Queen, including "We Will Rock You", "I Want It All", "Fat Bottomed Girls", "Flash", "Hammer to Fall", "Save Me", "Who Wants to Live Forever", "Too Much Love Will Kill You", and "The Show Must Go On".
The Red Special is the electric guitar designed and built by Queen's guitarist Brian May and his father, Harold, when Brian was a teenager in the early 1960s.
Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970. Their classic line-up was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals) and John Deacon (bass). Their earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock.
They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

As great a guitar solo ever created!
Thank You - 🤘QUEEN! 👑
Вы великий гитарист, что не соло то огонь
It's that time in life when you should CUT YOUR HAIR Brian. !!!
Interesting! I just found this after trying to play along with Bohemian Rhapsody for the first time. I was surprised to find it’s in Bb so I guess Mr May must have tuned up a semitone allowing him to play open A/D/E shapes.
wow this is simply awesome, great find!
*Un GENIO TOTAL y un tutorial hecho por este guitarrista GIGANTE de TODOS los tiempos.*
Looks very easy hahaha
やっぱりこの人頭良いからSNSも使いこなせるんだろうな。 さすがブライメン博士。We will rock you も作ったし、この人が一番天才だわ。
Thank you so very much for all my teacher ,!!!
the guitar says, "dyaa dya dyaaaa!"
Great indeed, thank you, so many wrong or different versions out there. Cheers.
And that's why he's my guitar hero. Thank you Bri
Well thats's not the way TH-cam-Dave taught me to play it, so Brian must be wrong
Brian mayi çok severim❤
Boys...you just don't understand what kind of person he is...what kind of person is this...This is a legend...!!! No one else writes such music...!!! It's like Bang... Wagner... Beethoven... Rachmaninoff... Tchaikovsky... Mozart...no one else will be able to write such music...!!!! Look what is being played now...???It's impossible to listen to...!!! There will be no more Joe Cocker...Tina Turner...Freddy...etc...(((( Now no one writes real music...Appreciate it because this music was real...!!! In my house...in the car...at work... the Queen sounds constantly...I know all their songs by heart... even when I fall asleep...I have their music playing...)
How many frets does his guitar have 😂 .. The dot inlays confused the hell Outta me
What is the glass jar on the floor?😊
This man is cute af
You know, i would also do the vocals so i could also join you!
the fact that he showed us how wrong he was and didn't rewrite the record touches me. that's why I fell in love with him, for humanity
You rock ,you’re the best, taking time to show all of us your geniuses. I am 65 and have not played since I was on n a cover band In then 80’s …and yes played some Queen then.getting back into and finding you here giving essentially lessons blows my mind.A million thanks you’re a legend. Also enjoy your videos on your take on what’s going on in the world. Brian you are a down to earth guy, if your ever in Jersey the drinks are on me. Best of health and good things for you man👍
I knew I was never, ever talented enough to play guitar, to even an average standard. Took all my dreams to air guitar your solos with Queen... But now seeing how you actually play them.. my finger tapping and massively out of time strumming, has made me retire my air guitar and question how much I totally took for granted playing guitar to Brian May level. I can't air guitar to queen again because I'm so not even close to acting like it's played.
😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏💥🔥🌟🎸💥🔥🌟🎸💥🔥🌟🎸💥🔥
🎸🌟🔥💥😇🙏😇
Omg he's so sweet😭
How I wish Brian May was my neighbor…
True passion in Brian mays guitar playing. 🎸🎼🎸
This ir great ! Off the the lab I go!
Best thing is at 1:33 he got it wrong. I'm searching through all lessons, tabs and compared to his studio performance and that part should be played slightly differently. :) so YES, I'm correcting Brian May on how his solo is supposed to be played and before you criticize me go and verify it yourself.
That’s also what I found out, he plays a little bit off there and also in 1:45 he repeats the beginning of the solo which it should’ve been played between 15th, 16th in the B string and 17th fret in the G string, still good implementations though
Coollll
For some reason i got teary eyed at the end here, Brian May himself just walking you, hand in hand, (and laughing and pointing out intricacies in it as well) through one of the most sensual solos. One of the best in pop music at least
it's the equivalent of slash showing you the solo of sweet chill o mine
Thank you for sharing.
a Legend doesnt even need a pick to play this legendary solo
For decades, I have been trying to unravel these notes in my head...THANK YOU
Jesus Christ loves you
I cannot play any musical instrument, but I just love your mastery (is it a proper word in this context?) and of course all the songs from Queen (maybe except Flash, sorry :))
you are the best brayn
Amazing. Thank you pops!

If this man keeps on practising & getting famous he can soon afford some trousers. I wish him all the best.
