      @@studiotouge , thanks! Yes, the generate check box is not needed now. You can just start play with the Density prameter right away.

    Hello. I modeled the hair and added fluff but want to separate the fluff from the main hair to reduce the thickness, how can this be done?

      Hello, What exactly do you mean by "Fluff"? If you are talking about some noise effect. You could probably use masking. By painting some areas black you could reduce the effect.

    Can you use a hair curves object that already has some guides with the plugin?

      No there is no such function that will convert the existing groom to Medusa Nodes' groom, not at this point. It requires some manual steps in the node editor. This option is on the To-do list.

    Question? I have styled hair with your awesome addon to a rigged character. when I go to pose the head. the Hair stays in the default rig position. the hair follows the head but the hair stays in the position of the guides. How to fix the guides to follow the hair Cap ?

      Hey, the addon is still in its beta development phase and I am actively working on a new update at the moment. Hence, there is no tutorial for the time being. In the future I am definitely going to make one specifically for the braids. If you have some issues feel free to DM me your blend file via Twitter or blenderartists.org. I will take a look at it.

      Hey, Here are the steps: 1. Apply the "MedusaNodes" GN modifier on the hair object. 2. Now you can enter the "Sculpt Mode" on your hair object and click on the "Snap to Nearest Surface" under the "Curves" menu. 3. Finally add the new GN modifier to your hair object and add the "Surface Deform" nodegroup to the modifier.

      Thanks for you feedback! I would say you could definitely achieve the realistic hair look in some Eevee scenes, but it is definitely easier to do it in Cycles.

      Blenders regular alembic exporter should do the job. Only make sure that the Medusa Nodes GN modifier is applied on the hair object.

      Hey, You can make a collection with custom bezier curves inside it. Then you can just drag and drop the collection into the Generator of the Guide Curves object. In this post there is a little video where you can see that: blenderartists.org/t/hair-medusa-nodes/1336677/365

    Hello! I bought this product and tried to work on it, but the section is not automatically divided in the region map part. What's the reason? The operation is not carried out at 1 minute and 24 seconds of the above video. It is painted, but the hair is not divided according to the painted region. And when you work on it, it says emitterGeometry001 in the mesh data column of the property window, but in mine, it just says the name of the hair cap. I really want to make hair, but it's frustrating because it doesn't work. Do you know the solution?

      Yes, you can mask out the influence of the region map You should first enable this option by turning on the "Region Mask" on the "Guide" deformer. Now you should be able to add the "Texture Mask group" to the "Region Mask" property and start painting on it

    Bought it and i really like the idea but for some reason its not working at all... no errors, just not working. When I add Guides it doesn't add it, when it does work and adds the guides after i exit the software entirely and reopen it doesn't groom the guides at all.

    hi there! good work on this add on, it's cool to see that you've been able to break down the geo nodes in a way that's much more understandable for artists without an understanding of geo nodes. i've been thinking of buying it but i had some questions do the nodes require the add on to work, or can you "apply" the geo nodes onto a character, so that it can be shared with users who don't have your add on? i was also wondering. there's amazing research that was done on blenderartists (google "rig and simulate hair curves on blender 3.3") which allows you to rig and pose guide hairs. is this also possible as well in your add on, and animating the green guide hairs? thank you for your time!

    In this video at 10 o'clock, the hair set at the beginning is applied well in the guide. However, I'm following the tutorial, and the hair I set at the beginning doesn't apply to the guide, and if I add a guide, I'll add a hair that's too long, not the hair I set at the beginning. Isn't there a solution?

      I am not sure what exactly the problem is in your case. You have to disable "Generate" option on the Generator of the Guide Curves object first.

    One more question, After I have the hair style. when I pose the head right to left. the hair does not follow the head mesh correctly. Am I missing something? thank you.

      I would suggest applying the Medusa Nodes GN modifier on your hair object, unless you absolutely have to have the deformers for some reason. This should make your animation quite a bit faster. You could then create a separate geometry node group on your hair object like this: i.stack.imgur.com/DMwzd.jpg This will make sure that your hair follow the sculp geometry accordingly. There is a possible fix for this issue, that is currently in the works: github.com/ikakupa/medusa-nodes-bug-reports/issues/1

    Is it possible to select a single Guide Particle? It's difficult to try sculpting multiple guides since one move will move all overlapping guides.

      Yes, I would use the Selection Paint brush for that. It is the first one in the toolbar if you are in the sculpt mode on the Guide hair object. The brush makes it is easier to isolate painted guides.

      @@iraklikupunia Thats amazing! In my viewport, I do not see Guides as blue like in your video. They are red, and selected guides are like 1% darker, so its difficult to see guides through hair as well as difficult to see which guides are selected. Is it possible to change Guide color or make Guides visible through hair?

      @@knackepizza2480 something is probably messed up with your Guide hair object. But yes you can still change the color by selecting the Guide object's Material and searching for the Viewport Display panel in the Properties Editor. There you will find the Color parameter.

I can't promise that it will happen quickly. Currently I am working on improvements in regard to the addon.

    man i've been waiting for this since you first started teasing ur tests a year ago and it's finally here. Gotta say, it looks and feels like an improved version of Xgen. Always wished the devs would implement something like Xgen in blender but the new hair system is coming up slow and still lacks features. Hope ur addon is a gamechanger
