That’s exactly what I was hoping to see inside! I found some fossil soup stones yesterday in a gravel bed and I don’t know what one of the most commonly occurring creatures is. I’m going to have to do some googling. lol Anyway, can’t wait to see these polished up! I always look forward to what will come of your great cuts. Thanks for sharing!

Fossil hagstone! Don't break it!

I just found a pyramid-shaped piece of weathered chert where on one of the corners was that same hole, right near the edge. There's beauty in even the most common of rocks.

Amethyst with iron staining

Yea, I would also agree that it looks like amethyst that’s been rolled and polished by the movement of the water. Great find! I must say that when I watch videos like yours it’s really hard to see how many truly beautiful and interesting rocks that are left behind or not even picked up. I find myself saying “check out that…so and so” or “wow, I can’t believe you walked away and didn’t check out the…” Is it just me or does everyone see the amazing colors and patterns on so many stones in these videos and think “I wish I could reach through the screen and grab some of them “?
