Yes, in the testing of the orange one, it was definitely an issue of the chrome, lol. Its interesting to see how it did notably better with a couple of the top coats, though. When I was working on my original video with the Blanc Blanc chromes, they didn't work so hot with my Kupa top coat, but they were fabulous once I did them over Gotti. 😀

I'm glad you've found a chrome gel that works for you! I should see if they'll send me some to try it out. I have had great success with their chrome powders.

That's what I've been thinking too. It just seems that when I try that with these long swatch sticks, I end up with such bad pooling on the sides that I have to be so careful. It seems like it's much easier for me to use syrup gels with short nails, lol.

It's funny, I'd been searching for laser cubes for like a year 😅 All I could ever find was rectangles, and I didn't want to cut them, lol. I've tried some stuff out with the 3D gel, and it's really pretty cool.

Yes, 1000%! But you have to make sure they are thick enough not to allow chemicals through. Typical tech gloves are not usually enough as the chemicals are able to penetrate. I personally have to use 10mil because anything less and I was still reacting. Many others find that 6mil works ok for them. You also need to be SO vigilant of your workspace. I constantly tap my brush to the table or against a bottle or anything else like that, and sometimes it's the most miniscule amount (or clear) that you don't even notice it. Then, if at any point my skin comes in contact with that, BAM! Allergies are off and running. If you think you've developed an allergy, take it VERY seriously. I just had fillings at the dentist and had my first bad reaction, my mouth filled with swollen welts, and the one side of my face was swollen for days. It was pretty scary. My allergy is Hema, which is also found in dental products. Now I have to wait to get into the allergist again to find out if I can ever have dental work done again and if I need to get an Epi pen. I've had this allergy for 10 years and have had dental work done on and off since then with no issue. But this time was different, just like it happens with nails.

@@loveyournailsbydawn Thank you so much for your answer. Ive been doing nails sense 2013 and a few years after that i got allergies the first time - i worked with acrylics. Switched over to gel and it was fine. But now i got these cuts that never heal, and well ive kinda suspected for a while but didnt want to see it. hahaha! But my dayjob is pretty dangerous too, i work with acids and chalk and its probably contributed to my allergies. I ordered gloves that look like yours yesterday. Pretty pricey but rather that than these damn cuts. Im also switching over to only, or almost only using akzents. Good thing you mentioned that with the dentist, i havent even thought about that. This is VERY true! I find that when I'm doing a short nail, it's much easier for me to float it on for consistent coverage. With these long swatch sticks, I end up with it pooling on the sides when I float, lol. 🙄 😅

@genahebert4 These glitters are 💥 It's just too bad it was last years footage with not the best lighting, lol. Do you have a favorite AQ collection? What's the most common way you use your AQ gels? Like full coverage for a nail, or added into a design, like topping a solid color or ombre, etc?

Yes, the base gel was included in the kit. It just came in its own separate box.

I agree! This collection is SO good. ❤️ I'm really glad I got it. I didn't do anything super fancy for the nails, but it made for a really quick and easy cute set. The liner gel did work ok with a long detailer brush, I just wasn't thrilled with the bottle brush or the cured finish. I would like to have seen it cure either Matte or Glossy, but it's sort of in between, lol.

I don't have that one, but the colors are absolutely fantastic!!! I was turned onto Korean gels for the syrup formula, so I have mostly stayed away from solid creme collections. As lovely as they are, I find that some of the bottles ooze gel up out of them, so I'm always having to carefully wipe them down, which it not ideal for someone with severe allergies. Plus, the price just really gets to me. I've used many other brands that were just as good but at a much better price point. They are REALLY good at branding and presentation, which is a huge draw for some people. Their packaging is adorable and far beyond most, if you like that sort of thing. For me, I'm all about quality/value and am always looking for the best bang for my buck. 😂

I've got a few others filmed already to edit, but I'm hoping to swatch the White Night today. I do love the lighter colors as well between these 2 collections.

That's a great idea! I have a jewelers scale and never thought to try doing that! I'll have to pull it out next time. Right!?! I just find potted gels such a pain in the ass, I hate changing/cleaning brushes, lol. The Bemi Metal Leaf gels are really something else! I only have a few colors but have contemplated getting the whole collection. Out of the hundreds of glitter gels I have, they are just a VERY unique formula that looks really different. I just find them a little bit harder to figure out how to incorporate them into my art designs as they are super intense. Most glitter gels you can layer and ombre for different looks, even when they are heavily packed with glitter. But these I find a little bit trickier to mesh into art designs if it's not just a solid nail. They certainly hit the mark for that super easy 1 blingy accent nail color, though! 100%

Not gonna lie, I do spoil myself for Xmas 😂 It's so hard to resist those Black Friday sales, though!!!

I really am a fan of From The Nail so far. I also find that the sets that attract me to purchase the most end up being theirs, lol. I think it's because while I'm happy to pay more for a well thought out bottle, I don't like paying premium for fancy packaging that I just throw away. Their price point is also a little better than some, which is good. Thanks 😊 I should have clarified in the video. I actually can't ever use anything less than a 10mil glove without an automatic reaction. Then, when I'm stamping and cleaning plates with acetone, if I'm not changing my gloves immediately after, I often end up with a reaction still 🙄 🥺 It sucks, but at least I have been able to find a way to continue doing what I love and I usually only screw up a couple times a year, lol ❤️ 😊

I've been curious if I layered over a regular 6mil when stamping and then took the 6mil off when finished plate cleaning if I would end up still reacting. It makes more sense just to use a new pair of 10mil, but they are so much more expensive than regular gloves that I hate going through them so quickly.

For me, the products spark so many ideas that my brain has difficulty settling on 1 or 2 options. Even in my first year as a tech, once I had a number of choices available, it made it tricky for me to narrow in on a design. Then came the how-to ideas on Socials, and I was screwed, lol. Anytime I would see a design I loved but didn't have the products for, I had to get them so I could try it. At some point, I just gave in and decided if it was hard with even a few product options, why stop there, lol. Being ADHD & Autistic, once I lock in on a special interest, that's it. The next X amount of years are spent on nothing but collecting everything I can for it and organizing my collection. 🤩
