Hidden Waterfall in NUKU HIVA, MARQUESAS (Sailing Tashi Episode 47)
This episode we move to Daniel's Bay anchorage so we can explore more NUKU HIVA. We take a serious jungle hike and find a secret waterfall.
This will be our last episode. We have some life stuff happening, and we just need to go with it. Which means, we are done with our sailing adventures. We are safe, and healthy, but just need to follow a different path. Thank you everyone for your support and comments. We have had a wonderful time producing these very amateur videos. We hope you enjoyed them as much as we enjoyed making them. We will leave the videos up as an archive. Once again, thank you!!!

Very helpful 👍🏼
Next time in Santa Cruz, anchor on the Southeast side of the pier. Much calmer for overnighting, eh! 86 and still sailing, John
Sounds like new guys bought a company and think anyone can run it. Got rid of the original crew (except Chris).
Interesting hearing your story, I am a retired Paramedic and I am 4 years into retirement and I think I will get past that 5 year mark as our profession is the same. I have know colleagues who have died before their retirement parties. Public service comes with a high price. Thanks for your service.
I don’t know how a island packet channel slipped by me, but I gotcha now! I’m going to start from your beginning
Wow, kind of a shocker watching this one. I guess long term sailing wasn't what you thought it would be. Well, that's what is nice about being able to change one's direction.
Congrats on your crossing. I got a chuckle of your equator crossing. I was in the Navy and crossed the equator as a Pollywog in 1976. crossed several times after that as a Shellback. Also, became a Golden Shellback, when you cross the equator where it intersects the 180th meridian of longitude. Navy Captains will try to adjust the course of the ship if this specific spot is not too far out of reach from the normal course. Take care and good luck in the South Pacific.....
I'm just catching up to this. Happy to hear you've decided to go. I was in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and spent a lot of time in the Western Pacific. I've been to Hawaii, Phillipines, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong when it was still British rule, Melborne Austrailia, Perth Austrailia, Mauritius Island, Mombasa Kenya, Up the Suez into the Med, Italy, France, blah, blah, blah. So, yeah......go see the world and be safe and enjoy. Fair winds and following seas.......
Those are nifty reels with handles and rail mounts ! Haven't seen anyone using reels like those.
Does this run on a Honda 2.0kw genset?
Thx guys, really helpful as I was contemplating one of these for my boat for passaging around Aust.
That's so cool.
Rainman failed to do a proper failure modes analysis. The lock nut on the high pressure relief valve should have a hole to accept lock wire.
Hi Tashi, we have the same unit but with the compact membranes. After seeing your video we would like to reach out to Chris for some spares. We noticed that there are three dealers in Florida but only one on the west coast. We will leave with the haha in a couple of weeks and now think we should have those spares in our toolbox. Thanks.
Doesn’t look like they’ve added this to the troubleshooting FAQ. I might mention it in my next email to them.
Thanks for sharing your failure mode. I’m getting this system on my boat and want to know all the ways it can fail. Thanks again!
Forget my earlier post; I just read the note you posted and the other best wishes. One question; what’s happening to Tashi?
Hello, Tashi has been sold to a lovely couple who plan to explore the world. We hope they can go far and enjoy her as much as we did. ☺️. We are well. Thank you!
Helloooooo - I haven’t seen a video or heard an update for 2 months. An update on how you both are doing would be very much appreciated. Hopefully you are both well and happy.
Rum for Neptune?
New subscriber, love your channel, Fair Winds and Following Seas always 👍
Great review. So sorry such a simple issue cost you so much. We have the same unit and have had great success with it. Now we feel like we know so much more about it. Thanks
You two are wonderful and your family is as well.. What a Crew!! I love how people end up with a name for their vessel of exploration...adventure and sometimes peace ... Totally agree Tashi was perfect.. and not the bathtub part. My mom and dad name each of our sailboats in succession Childs Play which makes sense.. A family with kids and a cabin cruiser called their boat Moore Fun... We called our tow behind dinghy.. Fun 2.. so as we passed a vessel they'd see the names Childs Play .... and the Fun 2.. oh how clever.😊
Just bought an IP350, so will be binge watching all your videos! ⛵️
New sails so fine.. And i love your motto Adventure Awaits and you two as per the introduction have been living the motto.. My motto lately is "Life is an Adventure. Live it !!!" I also made up.." Another Glorious Day to Be...." (and one can fill in the blank if desired)...
Omg this is sooo amazing!!! I’m soooo excited to follow you too on this amazing journey!! 🎉⛵️
Hi Alicia. So good to see you living your best life!
Loved the episode and love both of your enthusiasm Hals alittle more subtle but evident. Alicia her heart on her sleeve is so wanting to experience it all.. and share with us. On question... did the ketchup last a year? 😂😊
Sadly the ketchup met an untimely fate. It is documented in a future episode as part of a Fear Factor type of dare. 🤣🤣🤣
Hmm can't wait to find out.. I'm set to watch the next one. 😮
Oh Buoy i found the 1st eisode and i loved it and will watch each until done as long as they are avaiabe..My once wife and i would have loved to try living on a sailboat.. me a sailor of sorts all my life and meeting Kirsten on a weeks ride on the good ship Schooner Stephen Taber on the Penobscot Bay of Maine .. the state i call home now.. 😊
Ahhh so sorry to know this is the last video. I just found you two and Tashi a little bit ago.. I think you both are awesome and I love your energy and style... You two make anyplace better and I thank you soo much and wish you all the best on your new endeavors.. May any troubles you may face be blown a lee and gone... I hope I can find your earlier episodes because I'd like to start at 1... 😊
Well thanks for finding us! Don’t judge us too harshly on our earlier stuff…we were pretty goofy! 🤣🤣
Love you two and looking forward to seeing your next adventures. Hal, come walk the Appalachian Trail with Darryl.😊
That would be an amazing adventure. 🥰
That would be awesome!
He could have carried something on his head.
🤣🤣🤣
Well Dang, I will miss you guys and your videos; stop in at Willow Berm if you get the chance. Best wishes for your future.
Great Job guys! Thank you for the ride! ❤
Best wishes to you wherever your path takes you! You accomplished so much and did what a lot of sailors dream of dong! Fair winds to you both.
Adios…Best of Wishes…I’ll miss your Vidios🥰

I'm sorry to hear you won't be posting anymore "sailing Tashi" videos, but glad to hear you tell viewers you're both OK. I wish you all the best in your next chapter. You made lovely videos. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Thank you for sharing your adventures!! We will miss them but look forward to MORE!🥰😘
I guess I will have to find a new ritual for Sunday mornings or I could just go back to video 1 and start all over! Will definitely miss my weekly ”Sailing Tashi” fix but on to bigger and better things! Still would love to have you come visit in Lake Havasu City! Love you both.🤗😘
Love you back! Hope to see you soon!!
Same here!
Sorry to hear this but I do have to ask….are you selling tashi?
Yes Tashi is up for sail.
Yes, Tashi is on the market.
Wow! Sorry to hear. Thanks for letting us “ride along “ 😊
Darn it ! Lol. You guys finagled your way into my heart. Enjoyed the adventures you shared. Will miss you.
Hi guys hope everything is ok. Still in Moss Landing the welcome mat is always out for you two. Going to miss your videos but new ones on the horizon .❤
Well, that was a bit of a shock! Love San Diego lived there a few years ago, lots of friends and great memories, and where I bought my first cruising sail boat. Thanks for sharing this adventure. Hope I run it to you guys sometime.
Thanks for all your comments and well wishes! We look forward to seeing your adventures in the future! ☺️
Wow. That was such a gorgeous video. The end was a sad surprise but I hope whatever the "next" is, it is blessed beyond belief. May God richly have His handprints all over you both!
Thank you so much! Thank you for all your prayers. We appreciate every one!
Noticed your Rumble acct. isn't getting many hits, and yeah, I see you have a couple more videos I need to catch up on here on YT.
Curious if it took a few days to get your land legs back.
Hal still does not have his land legs back all the way! 😬 Sometimes it takes a long time!
That was such a great episode about your final half of an amazinc passage.. I love your spirit both and Alica cant say enough good things about your great energy. I aways say one must be connected to something like writing an emotiobal.. song or painting or ocean passage.. i who have always wanted to do such a thing you exude joy and connection to the every aspect of it. I'd love to sail it with both of you and in a way i did so thank you very much😊
It was definitely a journey to remember.
Missed you last weekend! Glad to know you've been thriving in adventures. The color of the water is gorgeous! Please Lord keep them smiling and safe! Enjoyed the update immensely 😊
Enjoyed following along as you took care of the chores anyone who sailed to the Marquesas would have to take care of to get settled in. Do either of you speak French, and if not, was communication a problem?
Alicia speaks a little French. Google translate helps a lot! But they all speak a little English. Two big Marquesan words to know. La Orana (hello) and Maruru (thank you).
Superb Video…Glad to see ya Folks are having a Good Time…Continue to Stay Safe and Enjoy😎
