Thinking About Moving to San Diego? ASK THESE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS
Thinking about buying a home in sunny San Diego? Imagine this: you've just taken a leisurely evening walk along the beach, and as you're sipping your cold beverage, watching the sunset, it hits you - maybe it's time to own a piece of this coastal haven. But before you dive into the real estate market, there are three essential questions you should really sit down with.
It's a commitment. You're not just buying a roof over your head; you're investing in a lifestyle, a community, and potentially, your future.
This isn't about predicting the future, but about committing to a place. Real estate, especially in a market like San Diego, often asks for a bit of patience. If you're not sure you'll stick around, it might be worth renting a little longer, giving yourself the freedom to move without the weight of a mortgage.
Sure, the banks might say you can afford something, but what about the late-night worries about mortgage payments or unforeseen repairs? This isn't just about the price tag; it's about the life you'll lead in this home. Will you be constantly pinching pennies, or will there be room for the occasional weekend escape or a spontaneous dinner out?
Dive into this video where we'll unpack these questions. By the end, you'll feel more prepared than a seasoned sailor ready to navigate the waters of homeownership in San Diego.

Why do you ignore just a bit North? You can get a very nice place for way under a million in South Escondido.
Someone stop this urban sprawl
Leave your liberal policy’s behind.
More tech bros pushing out sd natives.
San Diego natives are being priced out.
Rancho Bernardo is a hidden gem.
Go to San Elijo hills you can get a house that’s 3,000 square feet for 1.7 million ish with a beautiful view. It’s not hot like Rancho Bernardo we get Carlsbads same weather for $300,000 less. YW
The background music is not needed, hard to hear you
Just moved from Rosegarden SJ to Kensignton SD this awful ,Hell No . SJ is a Pit and is Filthy and Dirty . Silicon Valley may hve Economics but the City itself is Filth . I grewup there when it was Orchards . Hopefully thia Does Not occur here . Good Riddens SJ 😂😂😂😂😂
Sorrento Valley is a hidden gem. Still not too over priced at a great location and “real” San Diego weather.
I agree! There are some nice properties and pockets in Sorrento Valley
Ranchi Bernardo is too hot. Apple employees can afford properties on the coast.
The cost of everything will skyrocket. It's not enough tech companies and liberal thinking ruined the Bay Area now they want to take over Diego.
I’m not sure I like the idea. Traffic is already pretty bad up here.
I have a home in SD and SF Bay Area. To be honest, I like the Bay Area more. As for the weather, yes SD is nice and sunny but the summer humidity is unbearable to me. In the Bay Area, it can be hot during the day but at night there is always a cool breeze that makes me sleep very well.
Then leave and stay north
@@whoanelly737-8 What is your problem? Why do you want to provoke others?
@@kleinbogen 🤡
Depends where you are in both areas…i.e. inland, coastal, etc…. We get summer humidity?
“This many acres?” What area of San Diego are you referring to?🤦🏼♂️
Background music is really irritating.
Thank you for your feedback
San Diego better NOT become the new Silicon Valley! Fu k that shit!! They already screwed everyone’s lives in SF!
Omg 😢 can’t afford to live in Rancho Bernardo anymore.
San Diego is already far to crowded. There is plenty room in the deserts.
Crowded.... how about this making San Diego for sure the next silicone valley and out of any possibility of anything being affordable....
No, disgusting
Is there confirmation or any kind of timeline on Apple moving in to the RB office? I saw they purchased it back in 2022, but that's around when the tech layoffs started.
I think they have started moving in. I see 2 buildings up with tons of people in them. Then slowly moving into the others maybe?
Dude, who do you think at Apple will be buying those multii million $ homes? They pay well but not that well.
I agree- the brand new employees will not be buying these houses on a $150-250k salary. But you'd be surprised at how much equity some of these guys have after having worked there for several years!
San Diego will definitely be unaffordable for anyone. Get life insurance on ALL your loved ones in order to possibly get into a home... 🥂
San Diego and North County are going to be densely overpopulated.
Yes, but we do have strict zoning and building laws that make it very difficult to build tons of new housing (on the already scarce available land)
Ready for Inner Mongolia or Outer Mongolia and if that doesn't work out there's always Kathmandu.
Boomer here. Been looking to sell one of my properties in Rancho Bernardo. Now might be the perfect time to cash out! Ka-ching!
It's definitely not a bad time! Inventory is quite low and it's a seller's market. Feel free to check out your property value here: talechia.hifello.com/p/joshmeltzer/6630bb6c3eb584002c8cf3d9
Isn’t it better to sell later? Apple is just starting here. Give it couple years later and I imagine prices will be through the roof
I would keep it until 2029 if I were you
Rent it out instead
Goodbye San Diego; good morning LA.
What do you think about Scripps Ranch/Stonebridge area? Or Scripps Ranch proper? I'm concerned about infrastructure. I run a child development center/preschool in Scripps Ranch (right off the 15) and we're already full. Schools are full, affordable housing is a mess. Apple's arrival will be both good and bad.
I don't think Apple alone will have a massing impact on the infrastructure, however, the movement of more tech workers into the area will keep prices strong in my opinion!
I'm hoping San Diego will become the new Silicon Valley. I'm already seeing a lot of foreign engineers inquiring for an apartment here in downtown SD. San Diego will be the next megacity in America. I'm proud to be a San Diegan!😎🤙
I don't. Silicon Valley destroyed the Bay area with their leftist voting and have left them in ruin. Those tech companies are fleeing their destruction to other cities like San Diego, Austin and Denver. I hope we stay San Diego and never become like the bay area
Why would you want that? That would price almost every middle class San Diegan out of the city.
SD has been my version of paradise for 51 years, centered in Zip 92127. The Apple campus is in the industrial park there, along with most major tech companies. 92127 includes Rancho Bernardo west of I-15 , 4S Ranch, Black Mountain Ranch and parts of Rancho Santa Fe.
@@mbrackmann8He's a property owner looking to make money off rent or looking to cash out and move out of CA altogether.
It can’t be. It all starts with the universities. Bay Area has Standford and Berkeley.
Please… no more tech workers!
Oops, already on my way!
Haha!!
@@therenaissanceman441🤮
@@therenaissanceman441what do you do?
@@richmiller2761 I'm pretty sure Apple is still paying higher salaries than other jobs in the area tho. Are you up at the Rancho Bernardo buildings?
Thanks for the very detailed content and helpful info. However, the pronunciation of certain areas might need a little improvements. The ‘z’ in Spanish is pronounced just as an English ‘s’. Santa Luz should be pronounced “SAN-TA LOOSE”. Also, Rancho Peñasquitos should be pronounced respecting the Spanish ‘ñ’ and would sound like “RANCHO PEN-YA-SKEETOS”, not “RANCHO PEN-A-SKEETUS”. The SD Tribune wrote a good article on common mispronunciations in the San Diego area.
What a dump
As we like to say- there's lots of potential! Location drives pricing in this case
Was Jordyn biking in vans? My hero!
He did actually bike in vans & flat pedals. Beast. We were shocked and against it haha
Looks like a great race 👌
It was a great time! Ironman puts on a great event
