      @@raytyler2650 I have the exact same coil spring setup but every time I order shocks that are supposedly ‘For Coil Spring’ they never fit. In fact, the shocks that are on my truck now are the exact same extended length as the ones that are for ‘Torsion bar spring’. I’m confused.

    HUGE UPDATE….. do you have ANYTHING plugged in to your 12v plug like a cheap usb port ? My problem was a cheap $.99 USB port plugged into the 12 V by the radio my vape was causing the instrument panel to flicker on and off and would not let my vehicle start if that usb charger wasn’t inserted perfectly.

    I'm struggling putting my coil on the passenger side on. I'm doing it on the curb with a 1/2" curb gutter drop so that might affect the placement of the coil to control arm since the control arm is lifted awkwardly. Might have to resort to a spring compressor.

    Hi Tyler, is it possible to slip the front shocks underneath the lower control arm after you unscrewed the bolt at the bottom of the shock?

  • @Wes61
    @Wes61 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video. If that arm is jacked up enough (not too much) the pinch bolt that holds the spindle will push out by hand. It flew at the camera because the arm was pulling on the bolt. Too much tension can ruin the bolt. Nice truck 👌

    • @raytyler2650
      @raytyler2650 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gotta remember this video was over 4 years ago. I’ve tinkered with it so much more since then. 1: I don’t care if the bolt gets screwed up. I have a dozen of them laying around. 2: the pinch bolt won’t always slip out by hand. Think of it like a pin holding a bucket on an excavator bucket. Gotta give her a little whack because they do settle down and get frozen almost 100% of the time.

  • @808kea808
    @808kea808 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey I’m thinking of getting some maxrrac coils as well. Will it affect the camber a lot ? I got the 6” spindle lift. It comes with the 4” spindle lift as well as the 2” coil spacer. After installation I have very bad camber. The top of the tire is inwards. And my upper control arm ball joint is getting beaten up. The alignment shop says I’ll need to remove the spacer so they can get my tire back to how it’s suppose to be. So would me installing a 2” lift coil work and keep my alignment ? Thanks for responding

    so you're pushing 35 's with a 4 cyl ? If so you're going to blow your engine . Also that little engine loses half its power when you increase the overall wheel diameter . its kinda like on a mountain bike when you put it in a bigger gear it becomes harder to pedal , well your 4 banger can only push so hard before it shits the bed !!

  • @R4D4Rmm
    @R4D4Rmm 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    A few things for anyone who hasn't done suspension work before... 1. DO NOT hit the bare tie rod stud with a hammer!!! You can very easily flare the end which will make it impossible to get the castle nut back on! Instead put the castle nut back on BACKWARDS and hit it instead. 2. To prevent the shock from spinning when taking off the top bolt, use a 7mm open-end wrench or a set of vice-grips to hold the top of the shock while breaking the nut loose - no need for any impact tools here.

    • @raytyler2650
