its more satisfying to make your own, go make something and you'll probably think its better than what some lame dude who plays octavia too much could make.

nah ma, it always feels better to make something that looks good. trust, mess around with it and once you make a good look your proud of you'll never take it off (until you make another).

You're just playing her like she's meant to be played now, just without her crowd clearing ability.

while yes, it boring, its definitely not bad designed, and I honestly think I'd quit playing the game if they gave it the eclipse treatment. that is such a bad way of going about doing something, because one of the abilitys is just better then the others, it wouldn't even change octavia being boring, it would just take the fun out of using her completely. all your doing is saying "oh this character is boring, well lets make a way to play her that is incredibly overcomplicated for almost no results when another character (mirage) can do it better, and have a good way to play her but you completely subjected to sitting in a corner and t-bagging." your not fixing the problem, your just causing more.

@@HeylmAura 2nd and 4th ability are okay, first ability is the fun killer which makes playing octavia potentially boring but really if playing her that way is boring to someone, they are kind of refusing to play the game and are just cheesing it. Another such case in the past was when saryn could cast her spores on her molt. As far as the 3rd ability is concerned, I think activating buffs by doing actions at the rhythm of the music is just horrible design as I stated before.. you know, players love to optimize the fun put of the game, while ruining a perfectly good feature, the manachord. Instead, one way to do it without dumming the ability too much down, have the ability 2 or maybe 4 ways to cast.. tap/hold or cycle like vauban's 2nd ability. Another way is to keep the ability as is and let the buffs be activated by doing actions, but just ditch the part that those actions have to be done in the rhythm of manachord.

Could you elaborate or link to something on this? Does the height of the notes in metronome Mandachord actually matter, not just the frequency of the notes?

at what point in the vid did I ever say that you cant play octavia like that??? also im going to be a nerd for a moment, no the roller does not seek the enemy, it rolls around randomly in a area around the player. it also shuts off the enemy's A.I causing them to be stupid and make mellet almost completely useless.

I dont really know how i'd do a vid like that, but if you let me know what you'd like to see i'd be more than happy to.

@@HeylmAura I'm no min-maxer and I HATE that type of playstyle but your mod choices are flat out scuffed. Equilibrium takes up so much mod space but for some reason it's not slotted on a polarity to save mod space. Maybe you wouldn't be crashing into walls in small tilesets all the time If you didn't choose to go for parkour velocity instead of casting speed.

@@BobaSoda_ Its all for fun, I knew someone in the comments would notice and get mad about it. also, 1 parkour velocity doesn't affect k-drives, and 2 I put them on AFTER the augment. (I also want to say that I write books, and I love tricking people in very small ways, this is a very normal type of thing for me to do in said books.)

I just wanted to have fun with octavia 😭 (also you cant subsume roar or eclipse onto her, both her 3 and 4 count as damage buffs, on top of that you would want to use roar if you are using faction mods, not eclipse because roar acts like a faction mod, hence it just buffs the faction mods (on top of THAT, faction mods are only so good with damage over time i.e heat/slash.))

⁠​⁠@@HeylmAuraso much misinformation in one comment. Octavia’s 4 is the only ability considered a damage buffer by the Helminth system, not her 3. Eclipse multiplies faction mods while Roar adds to them. Therefore if you want the most damage possible in a shot you run faction mods with Eclipse. If you want to buff DOTs then you run Roar as it will outpace Eclipse. Faction mods are a multiplier of damage so they aren’t just good for DOT builds, you will get more damage in general using them than with additive damage buffs like Serration. If you want a gun build then getting rid of her two for Nourish is just all around better. Viral damage is a multiplicative damage buff off base damage, viral status multiplies your damage further, it’s an energy multiplier, allows for corrosive guns to full strip with archon shards, and if a stray bullet hits you, you get a small bit of CC as well. The Mallet is good to keep because it helps you keep the full value of your AMP buff. Resonator likes to fuck off out of the aoe and diminish your buff. Plus the viral status from Nourish will multiply the Mallet damage again, and since you’re invisible the enemies will target the Mallet and kill themselves while you’re killing them.

There’s a point were the game becomes more of a number simulator, rather then an actual fun experience. Now, I’m not saying min-maxing is bad, but the whole point of helminth is to provide options for players to create what best suits them, and throwing random numbers in someone’s face because ‘your build is better’ just seems like wasted effort to me. It kinda goes under the quote, “freedom is slavery, and slavery is freedom,” to me. Almost like creativity is a bad thing. Idk food for thought I guess 🤷‍♂️

I had the build for her other augment before which requires her 1, so thats why I have it subsumed there, but I do think that her 1 can be useful for getting headshots or something.

I've been getting this a lot for some odd reason, you cant put a damage buff subsume if you already have damage buffs, or else you could put roar on someone like mirage (which would break the game). both octavia's 3 and 4 count as damage buffing abilitys. i.e no roar.

this is going to be a semi hot take but I'd say Ivara needs a rework. I'd also argue its better, artamis bow just cant keep up with incarnon weapons.

@@HeylmAura artemis bow is dogshit, ivara invis headshot boost and roar subsume gives more flat damage. Artemis bow could do with a buff but everything else about ivara is perfect.

@HeylmAura yeah and don't get me wrong, it's dope. You took a warframe that had a single playstyle and completely changed it. It's just funny that it's almost exactly how Ivara plays.

@@Suckko Ivara is one of my least played warframes so I never noticed.

additionally, Amp also provides base damage. it would be far better to use roar or eclipse instead of shooting gallery. given your amp providing a roughly 600% bonus, shooting gallery is a relative ~10% damage increase where roar would be at least a relative 30% with double dipping on DoTs.

I just remembered Octavia can't subsume roar/eclipse lol 😅

1 is roar and 4 is Amp? How did you do that considering you’re forced to replace Amp if you want to subsume Roar on her?
