What a load of bull. Essentially the same watch? Apart from a different case and strap material, a different COSC certified movement, a different dial and ceramic infused with BGW9. Apart from that, the same watch 😵‍💫

Seiko’s bracelets are inferior to even to micro brands… they might as well sell their watches without a bracelet since no one keeps the original one on

143 all day. That hour hand on the 083 looks cartoonish and still don't get why any watch company polishes the case of a tool watch.

Wrong comparison since both watches have different movement..Maybe you can compare SPB153 to SPB143 there the movement is the same. But what to choose a design or comfort?

Thanks for your comparison of these watches. I have the Seiko SPB083J / SBDC065. It's a fantastic watch. I was lucky enough to get it new from an authorised dealer for AUD $899 = US $583 = GPB £460 = EUR €555. Another thing worth mentioning is that the SPB083J case is stainless steel with a super hard coating.

Sbp083 for me.looks more premium and the bracelet is much much more nicer than 143s.

Christopher Ward is an excellent brand, but only at a sub $1500 price point. They just don't have the cred yet to justify the kind of pricing being sought.

About the movement: the spb083 has the 6R17, it is a previus generation movement with 50 hours of power reserve.

Good review. For me, the 143 is my personal favorite as an understated well made Seiko diver.

The cyclops is particularly useful, especially for the elderly who may have difficulty seeing small objects.

Oh dear me it's quartz. I know it should not matter in this as there is no second hand, and It really does look like a great watch, but... I think that it is one That needs to be seen in RL.

I've had my SMP 300M (love it or hate it but its a quartz movement) since 1996, its worn daily and never been serviced. I have nothing negative to say about this watch.

This looks like a hybrid between a Grand seiko & a JLC master ultra thin. Came out beautifully. I wish FC would make an automatic version with this exact dial design.

I own a Seiko LX titanium spring drive watch, which I acquired in May 2019. It is an exceptional timepiece that I wear more frequently than my Omega Seamaster Chronometer due to its understated elegance. The spring drive movement is truly remarkable.

Almost perfect. I wish it had a big moon that is the recent trend. I wouldn't even mind a second hand if it was one of the newer high-beat versions. And yes... the price.

Being a quartz watch, it'd be even more attractive if it's thinner. I like it a lot though.
