Just the chorus isn't live, it's very obvious listening with headphones. I don't think he's ever performed it live. I don't even know if it's possible in one take to sing it

@@GlynTaylor His performances at the VMAs and the Kelly Clarkson Show were both 100% live, and sound even better than the studio version I must say. But yeah on tour he is singing most of the choruses with a track

try going to ANY metal or hard rock gig ... they never have and never will use auto tune or backing cos the singer cant quite get there .... dio .. give him a listen if you want a good melodic tune and some amazing vocals .... not belittling this as it is a good tune no doubt ... just giving u an example thats all ..

The chorus is a backing track, 100% definitely. It's completely obvious listening with decent headphones. The verses are live though. I honestly don't think it's even possible to sing it live. I think he recorded it 1 line at a time. Not sure why he wrote so many tracks that aren't possible to sing live, but they are all great anyway so at least he didn't scrap them

Man, come on... It's already unbelievable that he can sing for 2 hours straight at every concert, while also keeping all his newest songs in the original key. And the most important thing is, he doesn't miss a single note. We can really just admire Brendon.

​@@giorgioottolina1739I'm not saying he's not an amazing singer. You can just tell the wear that full set takes on him. It had to be rough to go from 1hr 15-20 min sets not touring at all for a couple years and come back to nearly 2 hour sets. Also they tuned down Sad Clown a full step live, same with some of the OG Songs. Even THIS version of High Hopes song is tuned down live a full step. There's like a hand-full of them that help by tuning them down for the live performance so he doesn't blow it. I was just sayin, I can't wait until he gets fully back into it from the performance hiatus.

@@sicinthemind What are you talking about? Sad Clown has been performed in the original key in every performance I've seen. Btw, that high run in High Hopes tops at a very clear C6.

@@Norce555what are you talking about? The run still starts at a B or Bb, no? The one I saw was earlier in their tour I could have sworn sounded tuned down. There's more shows from the tour popping up on YT as their tour progresses. More recent one does sound like it's same key as production ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have been studying singing since 2018 and bredon was my main source of studying material (how the technique is supposed to sound, when to breath, how to enunciate the words, etc). So hearing brendon singing LIVE like this is really disappointing. He knows how to belt, he knows how to health belt, he knows how to use mixed register, he CAN sing this song!! But something clearly is off and apparently he’s not worried about it since he’s doing this in he’s show. So yeah, I know what I am talking about, Brendon is way better than this and what he’s doing is ridiculous :)

LMAO, You're not the brightest, Was just at the concert in NYC. It's all performed live NOTHING is played from a dj, etc. The "Voice in the back" you hear. Is the two guitarists singing in the background to compliment Brendon, make it make sense.

No. Theres 3 guitarists / bass players with mics singing to compliment brendon. I was just there I promise theres no back track. At one point he stopped singing on a solo and it was either the crowd singing it or silence (words). Its ALL live. In person its so much easier to see it is. doesnt do justice on the phone

@@brendanpls Yo, it is playback. The chorus is his voice, not backing singers, and it's being played from tape. A lot of VLV tracks are playback in the choruses. No one cares, it's just that they are impossible to sing live. Still great songs. I'm glad it wasn't obvious in the concert though
