    Great video. After struggling with the vice method of removing the top piece (I had to use so much force that it was just spinning the tool) - I found it was easier to take 2 pipe wrenches (one around the metal sleeve on the tool) and the other on the top piece to remove it.

    I swear this is how my oil guy tightens my oil drain plug. I couldn't even get it open with my high torque 2863-20. Stripped all plug nuts and rounded up well. Had to take it to my oil guy and he used the hammer + screwdriver trick to get it open. Since then I switched to the Fumoto oil drain valve and changed the oil myself.

    You should check out the Harbor Freight 100 watt solar panels, I have several and they all produce above their ratings. The only draw back is they have SAE connectors which can easily be changed out but that would void the warranty.

    On my 2014 Accord V6, I tried everything you did, I purchased the largest Makita 1/2”, the pulley holder tool and still no luck. I seen where adding heat to it helps. I used my industrial heat Gun and heated the bolt to 300°. It came loose with the big socket and the Makita XWT08Z 18V LXT®... I think heat on the bolt is necessary.

    I recently purchased the DSR108 and find that the charge time using the max. allowed 5V 2A USB powerbank is exactly 31 minutes 45 seconds when there are no lights showing on the charge meter. This video is a little deceptive in showing a 15 minute charge time from USB because the charge meter indicates that the unit is partially charged with 11 volts flashing when the powerbank is first connected. The owners manual states that charging by USB should be between 20-40 minutes, however, I'm not sure how you could get close to 20 minutes because the unit will not accept a charge from a powerbank that exceeds 2A exactly. I initially tried charging with a 5V 3A and 5V 2.1A powerbank, but the unit would trigger the overload circuit that created a constant clicking sound while causing the powerbank to turn off. I verified operation with a 5V 1A cell phone wall charger and a 5V 1.5A usb port on a laptop without issue before obtaining a 5V 2A powerbank that worked at the longer charge time I mentioned. So far I am mostly satisfied, but I hope the manufacturer will improve it in the future by installing a 3A USB C port which could bring the USB charge time down to 10-15 minutes.

    To jscm3 and possibly others. The micro switch is an Omron SS-10-3 which is readily available from Mouser and Digi-Key. Nothing special about replacing it. Just unsolder the old one and replace with a new one. Costs about $3.50 plus shipping. I put new batteries and a switch in my wrench and now I'm good for another 15 years.

    If I was going to get a mid torque impact wrench, I’d go with Kobalt or the newer Ridgid. If I was going to spend the amount of money to buy a Milwaukee, I would go with Makita or Metabo. They both beat the Milwaukee. Over 700 foot pounds of nut breaking torque each.

    • @TheCivicsiep3
      @TheCivicsiep3 ปีที่แล้ว

      the only mid torque worth getting is the dewalt 800ftlbs and honestly the high torque dewalt prob the way to go too less issues than newer milwaukees but the lack of a brake sucks on the dewalt

    But with a Lithium Ion jumpstarter, you could have started the car right away because most the pack power is used by the starter directly. This product apparently only charges up the battery, which doesn't help a bad dead battery. With a Lithium Ion jumpstarter you could at least still get the car started.

    • @tech29X
      @tech29X ปีที่แล้ว

      Driving with a battery that is so "dead" such that it can not provide any charge to a capacitor style jumper is not safe. We need to distinguish between what is a DEAD battery vs a DAMAGED battery; Battery voltage less than 11.5 volts is considered a "DEAD" battery, but it still has some residual energy left in it to charge a capacitor jump starter. If a 12 volt battery voltage dropped all the way down to 6 volts or less, you must stop and consider if the battery is DAMAGED. It's not safe to drive with a potentially damaged battery, maybe one of the plates broke off and touching to another plate that can create a short circuit and catch on fire. Also, after a car is started, the battery smooths out ripple currents generated from the alternator protecting on board electronics. In either case driving a car in the absence of a battery or driving with a DAMAGED battery is dangerous. If your car battery frequently goes dead, it will get damaged. You must find out what is the cause. Jump starters are not solution to the problem of frequently dying battery.

    • @tonyhong20
      @tonyhong20 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No? By definition this is just as much of a jump starter as a lithium or lead acid one in which the supercap power is used directly by the starter. Instead of having a lithium pack you need to keep charged, the supercaps take the weak power of the car battery to charge itself slowly, then when you hit the button, it dumps all the energy back into the car battery in a 10 second burst. Yes, you're right that this won't work a completely bad 0V battery ON ITS OWN. You could always charge the Schumacher from a good battery first and then carry it over to your dead battery if you really needed to. But if you had a battery so low you couldn't charge the supercap then it's not a car that was recently driven anyway. The most common scenario is going out to your car in the morning or after work and finding out that your car won't start. This product solves exactly that and is designed to be a safer, longer lasting alternative to carrying a lithium pack.

    Just completed my repair, and have to say it was VERY hard to unscrew the top: then the tiny allen head screws underneath the metal shield was the second issue: luckily the smallest allen key I had worked on that. The real question is that there are SOOO many 18650 batteries available. They range in capacity from 1300mah to 3500mah, and from 4Amp to 20Amp draw. I tried to look up the LG batteries that were in the tool, but there was no model number I could find. I ended up with some inexpensive Samsung batteries, 2600mah, 5.2 amp. But still unsure of what I replaced and whether it would have helped to pony up for higher capacity and higher output. Thanks!
