Got to this episode and this moment alone makes me very happy I didn’t skip it based simply on the synopsis. I knew dude could sing because of finding a clip of “Standing”, but this is something else. So glad the full version is available for easy listening.

I recently added this song to my repertoire entirely because of finding this clip again! I vaguely remembered the original by The Who (1970???) but watching this really good acoustic version made want to try it. It works really well. I loved Buffy!!!!! Lost count of the number of times I've seen the whole thing!

Fun Fact: This scene is what lead to his casting in Repo! The Genetic Opera. When the topic of who'd they'd like for the role came up one one of the writers immediately suggest Anthony Stewart Head. The other writer was kinda shocked and was like, "What? You mean Giles?! From Buffy? Look I know people like the musical episode but that's not really the kind of style we-" and of course the other writer immediately pulled up a video of this scene. And then they had their hearts set on him. (also sorry for not remembering the exact quote or names of the writers/director it was on the commentary track of an old dvd that is currently in storage)
