The "esky"was originally a brand of cooler box. My parents had their first one back in the sixties made from all metal. It was made by a company called "Willow"& it had a small picture of an eskimo, so in Aussie tradition it was shortened to "esky". So when other brands came out the name "esky" stuck in reference to cooler boxes in general.

Perth has a Mediterranean climate, hot dry summers, mild wettish winters, and when Perth turns on the good/great weather, quite frankly, there is no better weather ANYWHERE in the world. Sweet air, chirping birds, warm sunny with gentle breezes. And some of the best metropolitan beaches in the world, mere minutes away from much of the population.
