Cost of Living Perth 2023
Hi Everyone
I'm sharing our basic cost of living with you today.
Hopefully this helps to give you a ballpark of costs when setting up your own budget- which can be
tricky when you have newly immigrated or while you are making your plans to immigrate.
NOTE ABOUT CHILDCARE
Our little girl is currently too young to attend Kindy, (Children start pre-primary here the year they turn 4 or 5 years old).
Childcare/Daycare Cost: $100/$150 per day.
If you are not on PR - LIKE US - you will not have any rebate/grant towards childcare costs. This is the main reason I am a stay-at-home mom at the moment.
School Fees: These will depend on your child's school, and whether they attend public OR private school, and also whether you hold a PR visa.
Private primary school fees can range from $2000 -$16000 / Year.
Private High school fees can range from $3000 -$25000 / Year
Good luck on your journey to Aus.

Daubi is discusting there s nothing there nothing but tall building that s boring surrounded by muslims yuk. I am going to be sick. At this moment while talking about daubi. I wouldn’t. Live there if you paid me. I prefer to be homeless then move to daubi true facts.
When are kangaroo on the road don’t swerve. A family did and they died and they hit another car and died. Some kangaroos. You gotta just let them hit you car you should have a four wheel drive. Family truck.
Do you. No what they do there in daubi. It’s true. Look up porta. Potty. Trust me it’s discusting the whole word no s about. It. You will be so. Grossed. Out and it will make you throw up.
Do you. No what they do there in daubi. It’s true. Look up porta. Potty. Trust me it’s discusting the whole word no s about. It. You will be so. Grossed. Out and it will make you throw up.
Then why did you move to Australia the seem s you are more happy in daubi i hate the shit I am still confused why moved to Australia if it’s not cheap and you where more happy in daubi. I don’t get it. I wouldn’t move to daubi for any amount off money no way what s so ever.
Wow quite aggressive comment 😂 we love Australia and are very very happy here. I have a few viewers on my channel who are also in the middle east and many will immigrate to Australia - so I am sharing some obvious comparisons. Consumer goods are more expensive here... you can take that as a pro or a con... 😂 but it's a valid point to share with people who are considering to ship a container or not.
@ fair If you are happy here that’s a good thing. Enjoy I ask the say thing to other people too are uk family talk about Australia in a bad way. A couple months latter they move here. Now that’s weird.
Daubi. Is. Discusting. Yuck there s nothing there just tall buildings every where. I went therefore two weeks I left 3 days after I I got there ther s nothing there you no they under ground slavery. There to its crap Australia way better
They're definitely family members not pets!
Amazing, straight to the point and so informative.
Seeing wild dolphins in a city is crazy Must be safe there Your husband must be relieved he can relax and not worry about too much crime
Good Lord you’re so detailed Research is thorough
Someones snoring at the background is def a con 😂
Hi Candy. Thank you for your video! 🌻 when you mention dollars, are you referring to the Australian or US dollar?
Hi Cathy, I can’t seem to get access to the Google Docs link you put through. Could I kindly get assistance
Hi Cathy! Which visa did you all immigrate on?
Very informative video Cathy myself and my wife are also from South Africa, also immigrated to Melbourne AU currently in the same process now with our pet what a journey.

South African ♡
Perth is the CHEAPEST AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL- MAJOR CITY TO BUY/RENT.
Crime in PERTH? FFS!! NOT - AN - ISSUE!!! Realistically. Crine exists in ALL places inhabited by human persons. But this is PERTH FFS! ONE OF THE SAFEST PLACES ON PLANET EARTH.
Quarantine is one month in Melbourne not 10 days unless the dog was initially taken from Australia overseas and now returning.
It is AUD 15000 from UK to Australia
Buy a car off the lot.
Considering a promotion/move to Perth for work from the US. Your channel has been great for me, thank you
How much in AED do you know?
It is hard to keep thinking any city is a great place to live only if you own a place...
Would be great to add everything at the end of the video and give approximately monthly cost or fortnight cost of expenses.
Hi Cathy, I just found your channel and am loving binging on all the Perth videos. We moved to Aus in 2020, but to Brisbane. All your info would have been so helpful to have then 😅. We are planning to move to WA in April and its been great to see Perth through an Saffa's eyes. Hope you and your family have an awesome 2024 💕
May I ask how much it cost to ship your 40 foot container of home goods?
The "esky"was originally a brand of cooler box. My parents had their first one back in the sixties made from all metal. It was made by a company called "Willow"& it had a small picture of an eskimo, so in Aussie tradition it was shortened to "esky". So when other brands came out the name "esky" stuck in reference to cooler boxes in general.
Aaah lovely to hear the background story 😁 thanks for sharing!!!
Why call yourselves expats ? It’s more like immigrants ….
True.... 😆 we were "expats" in Dubai and the term stuck... but you are correct - Immigrants in Australia 🇦🇺
@@cathybothai used to be an expat in Dubai now in Saudi .....we hope to return to Perth in 25 .....i used to live in Sydney all life and we bought a house in Perth in June 23.....we looking forward for the move
👌 exactly same like you guys.. i am now in the Parth to move Adelaide from Abu Dhabi. And this is really helpful. let me know i can get some more helps and tips.. 😇
👌
Hi, thanks for the fantastic vid. You clearly come from a corporate backround. Without question, the best expat Aus. Channel ive come across. I love the way you are extremely factual and keep your information "non" personal. We've been considering moving to perth. We are SA expats (fourways) that have been living in Ireland for the last 20 years. Thank you once again. Keep it up.
Thanks so much for your comment. Videos will be back in February- as we have just welcomed our little boy- so I haven't had a chance to pick up the camera in a while! Feel free to comment / message on any topics you would like to see covered on the channel in the future. Good luck with your immigration plans!!
@@cathybotha Hi Cathy, thanks so much for your response and congratulations on the new addition to your family. I will definitely take you up on your offer. Looking forward to your next vid. Kind regards Simon
Is Perth lush greenery or barren?
👌
Perth is on the same time zone as Singapore China and a huge swarth of the world's population in Asia. GMT +8.
Crime exists only in few poor areas. CRIME IS NO ISSUE!!!
Small-town Perth has a population of 2.2 MILLION, a quarter the population of London. London is the capital of the UK, until recently the financial capital OF THE WORLD, a one of the major few European and world cities .... for CENTURIES. SO .. get PERSPECTIVE. Perth is the 4th most populous city in Australia, Western Australia is the whole western THIRD of the continent. We are proudly "isolated", though long-time residents feeling anything but isolated. Quite frankly, we live in the best place on Earth. Bar none. REALLY. Perth has a Mediterranean climate, hot dry summers, mild wettish winters, and when Perth turns on the good/great weather, quite frankly, there is no better weather ANYWHERE in the world. Sweet air, chirping birds, warm sunny with gentle breezes. And some of the best metropolitan beaches in the world, mere minutes away from much of the population.
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 girl thank you for your content, i truly appreciate it !! I will move there one day for sure 🤍 i havesoooo many questions
Hi Cathy. Are you able to share the company you guys used to move your car over to perth please. Much appreciated 🙏🏼
👌
Hi Cathy, we in the process of applying for Visas through the Australia Express agency. Dis you guys use a agent?
Hi Cathy - I just found your channel and I love it! I am also from SA have a Cavalier King Charles spaniel 🐾 I was wondering if the direct flights from Perth to Cape Town are still going 🛫 and how much this costs (I am struggling to find info online)
I would like to move there from Europe with my family too. I have 6 years of experience as a new car salesman and i got a degree of electrician. I wonder what kind of chance we got if we start our journey. 😀
Hi Cathy, thanks for the information and sharing your experience of Perth.
My biggest tip for affordable phone plans is to look into Kogan. I pay 1yr upfront usually and works out to be less than $15/month. Unlimited calls & texts, and the data is enough for me.
Thanks for sharing !
What suburbs do you recommend that have a boys high school and a creche for toddlers nearby and fairly close to commercial areas of employment?
Do you have some sort of expenses template?
Hi Cathy, My wife and I are beginning with an immigration agent and Perth seems like a great option. We both work in the business or finance sector, what is a great suburb for a family with a teenager and a toddler close to schools and work?
so is it better than Cape Town in your opinion?
