    I did it by casting rays to every single point, if in between a pixel is found occupied by an object that point is not lit. Was not much of a performance deal, since I was working with lighting pixel art. I had an idea of lighting up concentric circles, (that have center at light source), and if a pixel is found on concentric circle then for rest of concentric circle ( after that) would have a portion of circle (sector) unlit. Didn't explore that.

    Love the spinner! Wouldn't it work if the rope is automatically pulled in to a non-breaking length when you stick to it, so it will not break the physics, but still can be used as a fun mechanic to yeet yourself in a direction?

    How do you get the play statistics? Is that coming straight from Steam or is it included in your game?

      Most of the gameplay stats come from Unity Analytics that I've implemented in-game :) But a few of them like player count is from Steam.

    I like the shockwave but i feel as if theres not enough CONTROL. you could make the shockwave go in a more cone like shape, you could also make the shockwave trigger when you get close enough, and when you combine these features you get a sortof cannon that can launch players in a direction when they get close enough (i like when things launch😩)

      you could also make it so you only get launched by the shockwave if you are moving when it activates, and maybe also another block that kills you or make the wall un-attachable if you are moving when it activates. (also plz let us control the strength of the shock, how often it shocks and how fast the shock expands) (you could probably just put a setting that enables or disables the "it only activates when you move" thingy in the blocks that could have it)

    The mechanics were all great IMO. I think a problem with these kind of games is variety in the levels but these elevate it a lot!

    Can't wait for the trampoline blocks and invisible blocks, they look like great fun! (read pain in the ass). Also huge fan of the improved visuals, maybe desaturate the background more to not make it as distracting for the eye? Can't wait to see the rest of the game <3

    I'm also a solo dev, good luck man you are doing great and numbers are amazing! Just a little suggestion, I checked your store page I think so tags can be more improved so that games like Chained Together, getting over it are shown under similar games and your game also show to these type of players. Make a google sheet which contains similar games and their steam tags, use the tags that are most common in all similar games. This will boost your Wishlist. I also have one question what analytics tool you used to set the funnel up?

      Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I do have my tags set up, so that I see both 'Getting over it', 'Jump King' and 'A Difficult Game About Climbing' when I browse the similar games wheel. But I don't have Chained Together, which is currently trending so might have to try to see if that has an effect. I used Unity Analytics for the funnel and in-game events tracking :)

      Thanks! I used the analytics tool, with a funnel set up with checkpoints throughout the demo. And then I could see how many people quit before reaching the next checkpoint.

      @@clayton_games Oh, the analytics backend is Unity, not Steam, for these kind of data :) So my game sends in-game events to the unity analytics and then I can track it on their dashboard.

    Check out Chris Zukowdki's benchmarks to see what's normal. Your median demo play time is between lowest and second lowest tier, and your wishlist rate is on the lowest tier. Your game is platformer-like with limited graphics, which is not great for Steam, but it's streamable, so you get the potential of getting youtubers and streamers play it and bring attention to it. So it might still work out, depending on your costs and how good the gameplay will be.

    Not my type of game but passion project without DEI? Wishlisted it to help you out might be little but better than nothing. Also like your stand on critisim and you´re right, no game is made for everyone the DEI nazis might try but fail HARD. Good games have a vision and some people like and others don´t just how it is and good to hear you´re not beating yourself down over it. Keep it up and best wishes for better numbers mate. BTW: it´s a good name, the idea is funny and of what I saw in this video also well done, lot´s of dedication and the chicken deserves a 👍

    Considering you don't have a lot of reach with your videos, getting 160 wishlists out of 2500 views on youtube is quite a good conversion rate. This video is already on the verge of doubling the views and I have to imagine you will keep growing. My recommendation is to keep development going for a while and let the wishlists ramp up from more YT success. You've got a good channel, so don't get impatient and release too early.

    If you want more data on foddian games, i have a whole list of games in a steam curator called "getting over it like" (i tried linking but comment got deleted) . Quite a lots of foddian game actually do not get recognised and just fall into the unknown. We hear of the success story like jump king and pogostuck, but rarely hear about the failed attempts.
