    Great video! Though I believe this is true: you don’t have to worry about metal in the oil because that is the point of the oil filter, in the first thousand miles the oil filter is collecting any metal shavings in the oil (if not, the oil filter would be faulty!), but the oil is doing lots of shearing and initial breaking in so that’s why the oil should get replaced at 600 miles. Earlier is a bit too soon as the engine does need to break in using that same oil.

    What happened after the spring got installed? Did it solve the problem? My 2023 just started slipping at 6500 miles. I broke my bike in by the book. I just changed my oil today and it began slipping for the first time. It's slipping in high gears at high rpms 9 to 10k. Does anyone know if an oil change could be the cause of the problem. It's filled to the exact proper level. Mobil one full synthetic from motul v300 full synthetic.

    The clutch on my 2022 ninja 400 krt blew up at 3k mikes while I was on the highway… dealer ultimately concluded there was a defect on one of the plates and they replaced the clutch in its entirety free of charge… still afraid it’ll happen again

    I wonder if you can trace that gasket and buy that 3 sheet set from Autozone and cut out a few gaskets?

    Probably not really an issue but doesn't know how to properly use it.

    I heard that kawasaki used clutch springs from the 300 so the 400 motor is a little to much for them to handle

    First, this bike needs a 600 mile break in period, not 300, second, it has a warranty! It blows my mind people buy a new machine, don't follow the instructions then surprised it's not working right. The owners manual clearly tells you how you should ride it within the first 600 miles and it's not 9k rpm at 300 miles. I have the 2023, I am at a smitch over 1000 miles now and have zero problems hammering it now.

      I have a Z400 2023 and I have the same issue. I treated this bike like a baby the first 600 to 1000 miles and I had the same issue. At 3500 miles even after a adjustment by the dealer I still have this issue.

    I got the exact same bike, but mine has 270 kilometers on the ODO, so its still in the beak-in period. I ride in the range below 7k rpm and today, the 6th gear popped out down into 5th itself. It happenned twice - I was passing a car, upshifting from from the 3rd through all the gears up to 6th and a few seconds it dropped down to 5th while under openned throttle. These clutches smell...

    • @natvega1
      @natvega1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is a highly advanced motorcycle, it will slap you out of 6th if the rear wheel doesn't have the correct speed even if the manuel says 35mph 6th gear what they mean is slow city riding, after breakin period most highway riding is 8000rpm and up, so stay out of 6th unless your slow city riding. 6th is like a cars overdrive downhill for cruising speed 90~110mph.

      these featherweight clutch are made for racebike specs on the track and thrown out after every comp, not for heavy duty commuting.

    After you change the springs you should be okay. I had a similar problem with a 1996 kawakasaki zl600 I owned. I had to change the clutch wave spring.

      Yeah it sucks but for an entry cheap bike it can't be perfect. I guess it's a better problem to have than the RC390 with their engines blowing up in the first month of use

    200 I thought for a brand new bike you should do it after 400 or when it's close to reaching 500 feel like at that point is wasting oil.

    Quad lock is for sure expensive but 100% worth it. Not sure why you regret it other than price but even without double sided tape and a zip tie it won’t fly off. For anyone wondering yes it’s worth the price especially if you have an iPhone and need the vibration dampener.

    I have the 2021. I didn't have the amount of slippage that you're explaining, but I put the Barnett HD springs on mine. It got rid of the majority of the high rpm slippage I had. I have 12,000 miles on mine now and the clutch is still operating well. I'll change the plates at 15,000 when I do the valves.
