The happiest crow I ever saw was on top of a building on a college campus. It had just caught a mouse and had it in its beak. I swear that crow had a big smile on its face. Yes, crows love meat, but so do bears, coyotes, and mountain lions.

This video is the last time I gave them such a treat. They still visit some but know I don’t like them hunting my chipmunks! A few days ago a pair brought down their 3 fledglings. They still had pink around their mouth and eyes. And a bump on their beak. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera out 😭 They were so noisy and cute 🥰

If you feed them more than two tummies worth per day, then they are stashing the food somewhere else. I have a mom, dad, and their teenager. Land on the balcony 2 feet away. Ive seen them wedge food in trees, stuff it in cement cracks, etc. The teenager “planted” his piece of PBJ on the front lawn 🤣 So they are on rations and only get small chopped up bits until I figure they are full. No hiding extras to attract rats, bears, etc. Officially, it takes 8 cashews to fill a crows craw, I know, cos it couldn’t fit the ninth one in there! So thats how I measure the size of their “meals”. Plus, I like to make them work for it. 😇😉

I took me 2 years to make friends with our neighborhood crows. Probbaly because people here are jerks and give them a hard time. Last spring one landed on my fence and stared at me through the window for a while before flying away. And a year later, he finally hung around a bit and picked up some bird seed. In my experienced they love (unsalted) whole cashews and especially fried egg yolks. Those are their favorites. The scrub jays also love cashews.

Please don’t capture a wild crow or any bird. They are usually paired and if you separated them you’d break their hearts. I rescued a parrot and it is amazing how deeply emotional birds are. Consider adopting a homeless parrot from a rescue but only if you’re willing to put in the endless and very expensive work and commitment they are. This isn’t like having a dog or cat either

Why in good God’s name would anyone want to feed or have these crows hanging around. They are smart, too smart for their own good. They eat garbage ( huge problem), they crap all over the yard, they are loud and obnoxious. It is insensitive to feed these troublemakers. They go on and on. From dawn until dark. I likeve birds singing in the morning and all day but I haven't heard a bird sing since these nasty creatures took over the neighborhood. I have seen them swipe down and peck people on the head. Disgusting creatures. This is my opinion.
