Zack's whole speech about "take charge, take control" feels like the Devs teasing a possible gameplay mechanic in Part3 of branching narrative paths As a diehard Baldur's Gate 3 fan, I would welcome such a system (within reason - I'm not expecting an Evil Cloud taking over the world ending) As far as ships go, what I think the Devs are actually going to do, is leave that ambiguous forever, and leave everyone with their head cannon.

I’m in the camp of having already played Rebirth and finished it when it released on the base PS5 last year. Absolutely loved it probably the best game I’ve played in years despite all the technical issues that’s been said about the game. With that said I’m in the process of building a PC to experience Rebirth in a completely new way. Not gonna lie I am slightly nervous due to the fact I’ve never done anything like this before since I’ve always been a console guy. But for Rebirth I’m willing to enter this different way of gaming. Hopefully the PC build I have in mind will be strong enough to handle playing Rebirth. I’m not one of those guys who are obsessed with playing games at 60 or 120 fps or getting 4k resolutions. I’m perfectly fine with getting at least the recommended requirements for playing the PC version. Besides, the #1 reason I’m even getting a PC is because I REALLY wanna get in on the fun when it comes to all the mods that have been created for Remake and soon to be Rebirth. Also play the OG FFVII mod that was created by Echo-S which comes with actual voice acting.

I personally think that Aerith's soul is stuck in between worlds because Cloud tried to block Sephiroth from killing her and change her fate. Basically schrodingers aerith Also I envision the lifestream and its many worlds to be like the tree of life.

Looks like Cid is going to be the debuffer of the group. Funny, I couldnt remember what his strengths were, in OG FF7. I know he had at least 1 weapon with triple materia growth. I recall his limit breaks mostly doing incredible damage to groups of enemies. Is that supposed to be his niche??

All of these events will likely be different in the third part of Remake series because it's all out of order at this point. So none of this should really be considered a spoiler or a heavy indication of what's coming. They've followed the OG flow of events more or less in Ever Crisis and included the content that Rebirth cut. The only thing I'm reasonably confident is that the OG Cid is gone forever. He's basically a new character now.

I really hope they bring this to consoles one day. It looks too good for mobile

Shera, Rocket Town, Wutai...I'm amazed what they showed us before Part 3.

In the Cid flashback, I always got the impression that Shera was actually the one who was being toxic. Cid wasn't picking on her specifically, as he was rough to everyone around him. And contrary to what a lot of people think, Cid and Shera were not husband and wife. They probably weren't even a couple. At that point they were nothing but captain and subordinate. And Cid had a deadline that Shera was not helping meet due to her not being satisfied with her readings. So while she was ultimately justified, she was being impractical and uncompromising. In the end, the launch went successfully, and the issue she suspected didn't reveal itself until they were well into the mission. Shera was brilliant, but she definitely had some kind of OCD, so I don't consider her to have been free of all blame.

Another new twist of lore! I'm thinking now of what the Gi said about the Cetra not being perfect. Jenova's presence on Gaia could aggravate the Lifestream and churn it in a negative direction, but it may not necessarily be the source of Negative Lifestream, which might be spiritual. I feel confident Alyssa is an illusion of Jenova playing with them. Experience with VII has thought me when I feel confident, I need to be ready for a curve ball lol. They are really driving home the difference between Angeal and Sephiroth, between Angeal having a family and a real home, and Sephiroth having neither. If everything is in this story is fuel to tie into the big Lifestream memory sequence crux, could the big reveal be the parental love story of what Claudia, a single mother of age seventeen, gave Cloud. In a sense, Tifa and Aerith may be the ultimate subversion: beauty can lead the heart astray, or cloud the eyes from the truth. But without having that boring parental love first, what does a child grow up to turn into?

"BACK?!" 😂 My interpretation is not that we're seeing Remake/Rebirth-continuity Sephiroth, but that it's simply Jenova's influence coming through. That's her speaking through him. She made the sword by controlling Masamune (the smith) and now she has a stronger vessel that can claim it (Sephiroth).
