This was at the lowest possible settings, so GPU power enough, but seeing the drops under 60 FPS I would say I'm bottlenecked by CPU. In this game ofcourse, other games no issues. If you have ideas, let me know. Thanks for the comment @lukario223

GPU was at 40% usage yeah. CPU altogether not that high, but seperate cores spiking to beyond 80%. Res is 720p. At 4K I got the same framerates, so wanted to make sure it wasn't something bottlenecking the GPU, so set all settings to off, low, DLSS Ultra Performance... still these FPS rates. That's why I think it's just bad optimization in Dragon's Dogma 2 on the CPU department. It's mainly in the city, walking outside, everything OK framerate wise. And btw, sorry for the horrible short quality, was my first ever short, so I'll be trying to make others in better quality 😅

You have an answer when you said few cores spikes above 80% this shouldn't look like that. Proper multi core optimization should have balanced core utilization. There will be always a "little" bottlenecks from CPU at 1080, not mentioning yours 720p, because GPUs today have tremendous amount of processing power, and CPUs barely catch up. That's why your GPU sleep - you have 720p, so you could say you're CPU bottlenecked, because this game is online, which is CPU job, and this is weak resolution for such GPU power, so CPU is "sweating" here. So this is no surprise. When I said CPU bottlenecked, it's not completely real word bottleneck, it's developers who didn't put effort to optimize the game. This is very good and suitable CPU for gaming - it's zen 4 btw. Check out "Monster Hunter Wilds" video from guy called "VEX" from his recent videos for example. He explained the whole mess. Even the 7800X3D, former now king of gaming CPUs is bottlenecking the GPUs like 4070Ti or 4080. I guess it's even worse. Welcome to modern gaming : p

Also I think he does his video intro perhaps better than I do mine, so I can learn a thing or two :D, thanks! As for the ray-tracing settings, I'm working on that video at the moment, so I'm trying to release it the 25th. Getting over 50FPS with ray tracing enabled is not bad at all. And frame gen is something I usually leave off because my screen doesn't support a VRR technique, and I can't stand the tearing. Real shame, so I'm definitely thinking about getting a different TV (as I'm always playing on TV). Well, thanks for the comment and advice!! And enjoy Alan Wake 2, it's so good... Hi @swede7581, unfortunately I'm not sure why it does 't work for everyone. Should look into the Vulkan API I guess. I know that I had some trouble using it when setting up the game, changing settings. When it was setup on the settings I wanted though, it ran fine. Also, it did receive quite a bit of patching in the meantime, so maybe these days it runs great even when changing settings. However, thanks for the comment!! 👍🏻

At 6:18 in the video (check the video description for the chapters) I'm talking about Shadow quality. At 9:55 about Ambient Occlusion (which you could see as shading as well). Not sure if you meant this with your question though. Let me know if this is what you mean 😅 @charleyweinhardt

Well, hope you didn't watch too much of the video than. And true, the traversal stutter is always there, only hope is devs are able to patch it out. But would bet on that too much.

@@HEnKisGaming not going to happen,they have pulled all work on the game.EA have literally ripped everyone off,taken huge amounts of money and giving their customers a broken product in return.There should be lawsuits and criminal charges about it to be honest

@@HEnKisGaming the only thing im hangin my hat on is if the stutters are denuvo related but im not holding out much hope.if this is the case though,denuvo contracts usually last for 2 years,unless they are extended,meanin somewhere around january 27th next year the game should go denuvo free.Funnily enough Callisto Protocol which is built very similar suffered from crazy stuttering,since it went denuvo free it performs well

@@pieproducer Didn't know that, interesting. So could very well be DRM related. Heard that before, that DRM causes games to run bad. If this was the case for Callisto Protocol as you said, the very same is pretty likely to happen here I would say. Well... remind me in 2025. @Farren246, yeah, that fizzle effect is annoying, when you've seen it once, it can't escape your attention. I found running lower res without using an upscaler the best way to play, but never dove any deeper into an solution. Perhaps modders have fixed it? Thanks for commenting! @@HEnKisGaming Yeah, input delay is HUGE. Tekken 7 was very different from PS4 to PC due to pc having lower input delay. It means that you have an easier time reacting to things, as the game respond to your input faster. There's a bunch of people doing research on it. But it seems like T8 on PS5 is going to be a smaller difference

@@jolenecoda Yeah, I saw a video of Digital Foundry, they had a whole bit about response times in T8. They concluded it to be a lot better than T7. Interesting stuff! 😁

Thought something like that might be the case. But well, good to know then for certain. Thought about including a part about latency (just measured with Nvidia tooling, so it would be render latency). Would be good for fighting games as well perhaps. Hi @joe7822, TAA is a bit more blurry that SMAA. Are you running at a lower resolution perhaps? I think someone in the comments mentioned that when he turned on TAA things got too blurry but he was running at lower res. If that is the case, you could try to increase resolution, but perhaps you need to lower res to play the game correctly. Don't know if the other AA solutions perhaps are a better fit than.

@@HEnKisGaming Hey thanks for answering and trying to help! I‘m am running everything on the highest possible settings.. My game still looks a bit blurry only the closest housings (like 5-10 meters) are sharp but everything else is a bit blurry and as I said when I turn on TAA everything gets super blurry… The first time I turned TAA on was because I had this super annoying flickering (especially the trees…) But I fixed that by turning off the day/ night cycle. But yeah I just don‘t understand why my game doesn‘t look as good as it does with many TH-camrs especially since I do have everything on the highest settings..

Maybe something in resolution scalers (but well, you probably have these off of set to quality levels). But well, don't know if I can help, but check if I see something. Will come back to you.

Hi @joe7822 , Can it be the Depth of Field? I just turned it to Tilt-Shift, and then the center is clear, but everything around that is very blurry. Think it shouldn't really matter what the Anti-Aliasing is set to though, but well, can you have a look? If it is set to Tilt-Shift, try setting it to Psysical or Disabled. Or have you set an Upsampling Filter? Noticed if you set this to Catmull-Rom the screen gets quite blurred as well. Best use one of AMD's Fidelity FX filters. Or, is your computer is really up for it, disable dynamic resolution scale quality (but then you really need a beefy machine). Let me know Joe! Hope it's one of these things.

Yeah, well maybe with lowered graphics 144 Hz is possible. Not that well known with laptop displays, but are laptops using 4k displays? Otherwise running at lower resolutions will have a big performance improvement I think. But then still, 144 fps is high for laptop hardware. Frame Generation could be helpful in those cases. Sounds like a usefull scenario yes. Especially if your laptop has VRR! 30 fps, true, I think it has it's place, but most games you want to play at 60 (well, or perhaps 50 in my case, but I should buy a TV which supports VRR :) ). Well, thanks for the comment @jeji5860 and... have a happy new year!

Hmm, didn't have a good look at the differences between 4k and 2k. Interesting. And yeah, don't know what you call upscaled. Is PS5 version really just 1080p? Sounds very low, but well, if it's running at 1440p and with fsr set to performance, internal resolution is about 1080p, so it's not even that weird. Perhaps 4k with fsr running at an even lower quality level then performance and you're almost there. Well thanks for the comment @troiaofficial2818

I wish I could wrap my head around it too because I've never seen something look that sharp for 1080 but me and a buddy (whom has it on ps5) looked at his 4k tv with a magnifier glass and sure enough, 1080. It looks like one of those "sharp" instagram filters up that close lol. Damned good filter I Guess?

Had a quick look just now @djinn3926 , CPU seemed to be at around 90 degrees as well for me. Never really had a good look at my temps though, so I don't know how this is in other games. Load was about 60% on the CPU I believe. Now I have an AMD Ryzen 7700x, as far as I know these can get a bit hot, so I don't really think it's something to worry about.
