She can’t do the trills, but otherwise this is pretty damned good, especially considering that she’s 64 here.

All round poor attempt lacking warmth of tone and true legato, thin toned and terrible diction!

Once the opera houses introduce glasses for audience members that translate the wonderful text of these productions into a recognisable visible language this genre will stop being a mystery to me. I know some theatres have introduced this for foreign language productions but it hasn’t yet reached the opera houses. I await a day this innovation takes root and finds its necessary thrust into our satiated choice machine.
